Hi all! A question on behalf of a mate from my flying team that just upgraded to this video card and that is experiencing problems in BAT.
First of all He can't of course use PERFECT and so misses some stuff and good graphics and graphic mods. Clouds seem spiky.  But the big problem is that he is not even able to fly in direct x and so he's left with nothing really.
Does any of you have same or similar cards? Can you give me some advise on how to solve the problem?
He would like at least to be able to fly with us.

Why did you choose the Radeon RX7600 to play this game?

It wasn't me, I've got an rtx 2060, unfortunately my friend did.  Do you know any sort of even a partial walk around?

AMD RX 7000 series got an with the old Hardware shaders this game uses, but you can get it to look pretty good by using DirectX and the information i provided here in post #27 and #29: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,71698.24.html

Hi Shardana!

The latest drivers for AMD have an issue with OpenGL. Maybe a fallback to driver 22.5.1 might help (works fine with my old RX460). Furthermore have a look here:

RX7000 series do not work with the older drivers, oldest that work are 22.12.2, and earliest for the RX7600 is 23.5.1 so just use the latest AMD drivers for your RX7000 series cards as they work best for both this game and the latest games.

Messing with the OpenGL files also wont fix it, and since it has the same isues in both OpenGL and DirectX mode for this game, i supect its not even OpenGL/Driver related but the old Hardware Shaders this game uses.

Conf.ini line HardwareShaders=1 will not work in OpenGL or DirectX mode for this game, and since thats what needed to run Perfect mode it looks better under DirectX as than the AMD Adrenalin Controll Center can fully enhance/override the games graphics settings.

Just my 2 cents here but, im currently using hd 6750 which is like 10+y old and im able to run perfect mode no problem. Problem was to get suitable drivers. These cards, no matter what every pro coder will tell you, is enough good for the game. And always were.

He wont run graphics extender+ reshade/sweetfx but, it may work. I fought this fight for such a long time im not even hesitant to tell you, its about him setting it up correctly, rather than buying nvidia card.

RX 7000 series are completely different, there no good for this game (i got a RX 7900 XTX 24GB)

This is not a mater of setting it up correctly, so i hope he did not buy that RX 7600 just for this game, only thing he can do is use my settings and hope he doesnt run into to much isues with BAT (for some reason sometimes a online map wont load under DirectX for me with UP)

The older AMD cards Vega 8, RX 580 8GB, R9 270X 2GB, HD 7770 1GB all run perfect mode fine, but my RX 6700 also had problems with later drivers, but older drivers worked fine.

OpenGL issues (perfect mode, spiky clouds) should have been already fixed with a recent driver 24.2.1
