Thanks Uberdemon for your input but I'm still having trouble.  I've spent almost two whole days working on this problem and have only succeeded in towing a glider once and was never able to repeat it.

Here's what I have done.:

Coop mission - I placed waypoints for the Zwilling taking off from a field.  About two grids out I placed a second waypoint for the Zwilling at an altitude of 400ms plus a 1st waypoint for the DFS glider at 400 ms almost next to the Zwilling waypoint.

Then I linked the glider to the tow tug by clicking on TARGET and attaching it to the Zwilling waypoint

Then I added a TRIGGER linking it to the DFS so that the Zwilling would trigger the glider at the very moment it flies past the DFS's waypoint.

This worked ONCE but after numerous relaunches of the mission I have never managed to duplicate it.

I would love to figure this out but I would also like to discover how to do this in a DOGFIGHT mission.  If I place three static Zwillings and three static DFSs placed behind each. How do I link them without waypoints?

I want to be able to spawn into my Zwilling and taxi out and take off dragging my glider behind me.

I don't think you can do that in DF.

Specifically because of the flyable to AI-only relationships... you can have only one of them with "human" pilots, but it requires waypoints.  It is not like the Zveno combination where you can Taxi an SPB I-16 near it an attach to the Tupolev bomber.  I think you are able to do the same with Mistel and possibly the Baka and Betty combination.  But you can't do it with static planes, they have to be flying plane objects.
