ME 262A-1A Indicated Speed Error
« on: March 07, 2024, 06:01:18 AM »

Since I've modified my BAT 4.2.2 HF4 installation quite a bit since its release I wouldn't normally ask about this kind of issue, but since I'm also seeing the same problem in UltraPack 3.4 HF23 I was wondering if anyone can confirm.

When flying the ME 262A-1A at speeds above 350 KIAS as shown in ngHUD the cockpit gauge indicator remains static, whereas the true speed indicator continues to rise as expected (see enclosed screen shot).

If I decelerate the aircraft to speeds below 350 KIAS the needle moves again along with the true speed indicator.

There's two minor issues with our 262 speed gauge implementation in IL-2.
First, the TAS needle (the upper one) shouldn't start at 100, but at 400 kph.
Second, both needles should slip behind the blocker at 400kph when exceeding their upper (IAS, lower speed range) or lower (TAS, upper speed range) boundary.
Anyway, it's better than the stock one at least.

Thanks for the explanation Mike!

I thought maybe there'd be a hex file or FM that could fix this issue, but at least I know it wasn't through any fault of my own.

Cheers
