Teething issues

BAT 4.2.2

Hi everyone,
We have a new member who has joined our squad and is going through a few teething issues.  Most of his issues we have managed to talk him through but a couple we (the combined group of old fart minds) have been stumped on.

The two main issues are as follows

QUESTION 1.  When he's on final approach he can clearly see the runway (constructed out of objects in FMB such as concrete, grass, sand etc). However when he's on that critical final approach time he suddenly calls out "shit where has the runway gone?"  All the runway objects disappear.
Once he's down the objects are visible again.

I confess that I've had a similar issue with buildings disappearing.

QUESTION 2   His mouse wheel keeps refusing to scroll his map and the map grid lines keep disappearing.  When we ask what grid he's in he cannot read the map because there is no grid. So we asked "what does it say in the bottom left corner of the screen?"  he says that he has the mph and heading but no map reference

I'm convinced that there are simply fixes for these problems but ...put it down to an age thing...I can't remember how to repair these issues.

For the first, objects disappearing, search for WxTech's mod "long visual distance for BAT" it could help....

Q1 - objects can disappear if there are too many for the PC to draw simultaneously

Q2 - check that the mouse wheel is not bound to an axis in the Controls section
