How about this beautiful plane, somebody wanna make it??? :)
« on: March 24, 2024, 01:05:51 PM »

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
R.36
Role    Fighter
Manufacturer    Renard
Designer    Alfred Renard
First flight    5 November 1937
Number built    1

The Renard R.36 was a Belgian all-metal fighter aircraft designed by Alfred Renard to replace the Fairey Firefly IIM within the Belgian Air Force. Designed to improve on the Renard Epervier, which was never adopted by the Belgian government, the prototype R.36 first flew on 5 November 1937.[1] Following testing the R.36 was selected by the Belgian Air Force in late 1938, with 40 aircraft provisionally ordered, to be delivered in two years.[2]

However, on 17 January 1939 the prototype, OO-ARW, crashed near Nivelles, killing pilot Lt. Viscount Eric de Spoelberch. The official investigation was inconclusive, no evidence of material failure being discovered, with the most probable causes being radio equipment coming loose during a high-G manoeuvre, jamming the controls, or the pilot becoming incapacitated. The airframe had accumulated 75:30 hours' flight time. The order was then dropped in favour of licence production of the Hawker Hurricane by SABCA.[3]

Please read instructions on submitting requests.  It needs more information including 3way drawings, data, more pictures.

But yes, this would be a welcome addition.

Hmmm... Yet another prototype plane that didn't serve in combat. And for which it would be certain that some cockpit would have to be taken from an existing plane. Aren't the hundreds of planes we do have already not enough? There are hordes of them which I've never even tried out. ;)

I know I'm a broken record on the matter, but it would sure be nice to expend the effort instead on fixing the innumerable, outstanding issues we face with 'important' planes which DID serve in combat.

Well, I understand, you both... But, that little I have read, and also did see one short document about this plane, in internet, by youtube movie site, there you can find a lot, of about "now days" done documents about ww2 planes, and other stuff too. There was in the document, that this plane, was very good to fly, agile, but under-powered, and, the real reason, that it never came "mass-produced", was, that those Germans simply did conquer the hole Belgium, fast and quicly! Anyway, I can try to find more photos, technical data etc about that plane. Sure, I understand you have already done a huge work, for this Simulator, and that´s great, we have sooo many interesting planes! I have played this game, from the first beginning, 2001. I am, ace :) Wish I can do/make planes, by myself, I know much about computers/modding etc, but not enough for making IL-2 planes. Done my own great game-versions, alone, games: Silent Hunter 2, Age of Empires latest, they are rather easy to me to program. Excuse me my English, I am from North Finland :) Thanks for replying, sure, I wish somebody really will interested, to make this plane... Everything good, to all of you!!! Highlandman

Most requesters do not have a clue about the complex and time consuming process involved in creation and importation of fully functioning aircraft into this game. As I have said many times before… if you really can’t live without a particular aircraft then buy or download the required software , invest a significant amount of your free time and learn how to make it. …. Simple 😉

This bird appears to a conglomeration of:
- Shortened Spitfire cowl
- Il-2 spinner
- MiG-3 canopy
- LaGG wing
- P-40 empennage/vertical stab/rudder
- SBD horizontal stab/elevator.

In other words, ready for the frankenplane treatment! ;D

Hi there! Well, SAS~GJE52, what software do I need, to start making new IL-2 planes?? And, do you here SAS, have it, to give/sell it, to me?? WxTech, so... Maby then you, or somebody else, are willing and ready, to make, this plane, like Frankenstein-style model/plane?? :) By the way, I am Electronics-Engineer, and also Car-Engineer, and studyed computers/learned by myself (Internet, books, etc) I have tuned my cars and motorbikes, always much faster, better lights and heating too, here in Kuusamo, sometimes even -49' degrees :) Also have made, from my own head, guitar-amplifier, and car's ignition modul/box, and car's generator voltage regulator. Seven years I was, working around the world's hospitals, "Clinical Chemistry Analyzer's Field Service Engineer" :) Highlandman

A good place to start would be to make a 3D model of the aircraft you are interested in. For this, you can use a 3D editor of your choice, 3DsMax, Gmax or Blender (Blender is completely free by the way), just consult this forum on the general guidelines of how to make a new model for Il-2. 3D editing skills will be useful regardless as they are not limited to Il-2, you will be able to make new objects for any other moddable game

If 3D model is ready and could be imported into the game, the rest becomes easier and then some users may help you with the rest

Thank you, Ol Willy, for your advices, maby I will try that, what you told. Buy the way, I have done, nice fun, kind of "Cold engine starting smokes", lasting, totally, with third smoke, 50 seconds! Sure, just one funny thing: Smokes comes also, when you start already warm engine :) Well...I keep my artistic freedom...and etc... Simulator can have some fun things too, why not?  ;D

Hi all! I did have a little (minor) brain stroke, so just wanna ask/suggest, that maby somebody can/want make this nice beautiful (agile) plane to this game??? Even, example by Frankenplane. Greetings from North Kuusamo Finland, Arctic Circle! My grandfather was fighting as a sniper, sharpshooter, in Winter War 39-40 at Kemijärvi, Salla, Uhtua, and some more East too, he survived, both wars, did seen example German´s Stukas doing their great accurate deadly job :)
