Status Update:  I have six airfields left to put taxiway and stop triggers on and then I'll be done with airfields.... *he says optimistically.  I forgot that Jet Age aircraft play by their own rules and physics when it comes to landing/taxiing/stopping at airfields (part of the reason why the runways are so long and wide).  So when that AI F-4 wingman is getting all crazy around the airfield, it's not you, it's not me, it's how it interacts with the actions and triggers designed for... believe it or not, an IL-2.  Who would make such a game?  I added two more jungle airfields in Cambodia and the abandoned Japanese airfield in Laos.  I need to do some more tidying up of things and then I'll release another update this weekend.

genXgamer, thanks for all the help.  I was messing around with the bridges and I was able to edit (increase the spans) and add bridges going East/West, but any other direction or angle did not allow me to edit and only appeared as an East/West.  Are there any other awesome hot keys that I don't know about? I've looked through a lot of posts and map building tutorials.  I hope you are able to find some fix that would increase this maps playability ten fold when it's released (people want to blow up vehicles on bridges), and if that's the case I'll begrudgingly go through and add/connect/fix all the railway lines and then there shouldn't be any reason for people to complain about this free map.

A few more awesome hot keys.

Use left and right arrow keys to rotate.
Use up and down arrow keys to move the bridge.

I am so freaking stupid!  These bridges have been perplexing me for years.  Turns out I was missing the hot keys for the confi.ini.. duhhhhhhhhh.  I dissected a clean FMB Unlocked and there it was, the bridge hot keys in the bldconf.ini  I just spent ten minutes putting in five bridges and was able to finally live out my deepest darkest erotic fantasies spanning rivers and rotating and moving and increasing and decreasing their length.  Well... I guess I will go through and update all the rail lines to make this map wonderful.  Thanks for inspiring me with your simplicity genxgamer.  Don't worry I'll still include an update this weekend, I doubt I'll have all the bridges and rail lines done, but i'm sure other things will require adjusting/fixing to necessitate another update

If we had patches of water (without the foam line which plagues this map) adjacent to villages, we could make paddy fields.

That would be great!  I can't remember where I saw it, I thought it was the new Philippine rework map, but I can't find it.  It was a picture of water with the grass object that looked like an awesome rice paddy, similar to your picture.  I would just put trees/grass/bush objects or fences around the foam line.  I don't know how to do anything when it comes to water.  I tried to add rivers since I thought I screwed them up when I did a Gaussian blur in paint.net to smooth out a lot of mountain peaks that were unrealistically pointy.  Would you be able to add puddle/paddy water around some villages that could then have the grass object added later since that was included in the 4.2 update?  Or is this map too far gone for such an undertaking?

So great to see Plain of Jars come to life.
Am I the only one having F-100D issues losing right gear upon takeoff - all the time?
I know I am a sub-par pilot, but every, single, time?
(AI too actually)

Abandoned fields, Cambodia, Laos... I'll have to polish my chopper skills, fly around this map, and visit everything.

I don't know.  Here is me taking off in an F-100D from Phan Rang.
Which air base were you taking off from?

Hi Geschirr

Perhaps the screenshot you remember was one I previously posted.
I'm thinking this will add a lot of objects to a map that must already be nearing it's object quota.
Maybe another thing I experimented with where a rice paddy texture was used with shallow water might be better, just have to scrounge up an extra texture slot.

While searching for a suitable patch of water to make my rice paddy last night I noticed a number of very simple wide rivers, these would be ideal for dirty rivers.
I plan on having a bit of a play around in the coming days, hopefully I can come up with something worthy of inclusion.

I used the "create bridges" function and then started modifying and correcting some bridges.  When I saved and restarted the map I got a crash to desktop.  So then I went in and manually added three bridges to North Vietnam, saved it, quit game, copied files, restarted the game and map and it worked.  Then I finished North Vietnam, saved it... etc and it still worked.  Figured every thing was good and then tackled Cambodia, part of South Vietnam, and Thailand along with adding taxi/stay points at three more bases in South Vietnam. Saved it, quit game... etc, then I got a crash to desk top.  I had saved the map files before starting bridges yesterday so i'm back to no bridges and starting again.  I'll be extra sure to make backups each time, I got cocky thinking I knew what I was doing.  Update still planned for this weekend!

Okay, bridges are working.  I re-bridged North Vietnam, saved, quit... etc and it works!  Moved the files to 4.2.2 HF4 and works there.  I probably screwed up some height or object placement.  Still chugging along.

genXgamer, those rice paddies look great.  Yes, it was that first photo that I liked so much!
