Good day gents!
A few of you may or may not have heard of my "Cadillac of the Skies" mission that I am making through the grapevines; it will be a full length P-51 escort mission from Iwo Jima to Japan and back (If anyone is interested in participating there are lots of slots!).
I take great pride in being able to recreate to frightening accuracy my missions, which involves skins, reading eyewitness accounts, reports, reconstructing Iwo Jima to a historical level, as well as creating a proper AI escort sweep using waypoints, as the built in escort functions do not suite my needs. Therefore, I am looking for some skins. Any skins of the 73rd B-29 Bomber Wing would be greatly appreciated, or individuals willing to help recreate them (Feel free to reach out either here or in Private Messages). I quickly used the powers of AI to scan the web and came out with these "notable" B29's, at the very least I would hope to obtain skins for these (I have found a skin for Thumper).
Example Nose Art and B-29s from the 73rd Bombardment Wing
To get you started, here are some examples of known B-29s and
their nose art from the 73rd Bombardment Wing. These examples highlight the diverse and often personalized artwork that adorned these aircraft:
497th Bombardment Group
869th Bomb Squadron
"Eddie Allen": Named after the famous test pilot, this B-29 often led missions. The nose art typically featured Eddie Allen's name prominently.
870th Bomb Squadron
"Waddy's Wagon": A well-known B-29 in the squadron. The nose art featured a wagon with the name "Waddy's Wagon."
871st Bomb Squadron
"Rosie's Riveters": This aircraft's nose art depicted Rosie the Riveter, symbolizing the women who worked in factories during the war.
872nd Bomb Squadron
"Lucky 'Leven": Another famous B-29, with the nose art featuring dice and the aircraft's name.
498th Bombardment Group

"The City of Pittsfield": Nose art for this plane typically depicted the name with imagery related to Pittsfield.
874th Bomb Squadron
"Thumper": Known for its distinctive nose art of a rabbit, referencing the Disney character.
875th Bomb Squadron
"Snoozin' Susan": Featured a reclining pin-up girl as part of its nose art.
876th Bomb Squadron
"Big Wheel": Depicted a large wheel and often the name in stylized letters.
499th Bombardment Group
877th Bomb Squadron
"Dauntless Dotty": This aircraft had a pin-up girl with the name painted on the nose.
878th Bomb Squadron

879th Bomb Squadron
"Heaven Sent": The nose art typically depicted an angelic figure.
880th Bomb Squadron
"Tokyo Rose": Included a stylized image of a rose and sometimes a pin-up girl.
500th Bombardment Group
881st Bomb Squadron
"Bockscar": Notable for its role in dropping the atomic bomb on Nagasaki, although it was part of the 509th Composite Group for that mission. Initially, it belonged to the 500th and often had mission markings and simple nose art.
882nd Bomb Squadron
"Luck of the Irish": Nose art often included shamrocks and the name.
883rd Bomb Squadron
"The Great Artiste": Famous for its involvement in the atomic bomb missions and other significant raids.
884th Bomb Squadron
"Little Gem": Had nose art depicting a gemstone.
Naturally if you have any fighter skins that would pertain to this raid (15th and 21st fighter groups, more info here:
https://making-history.ca/2020/07/19/running-on-fumes/) that would be absolutely fantastic.
Hopeful for the potential interest this may generate,
Cheers,
sercrets.
