Campaign recommendations for BAT WAW
« on: June 12, 2024, 12:52:37 PM »

Hi, I hope I'm in the right spot here and there isn't the same thing somewhere here, but I couldn't fund it.

I'm wondering if people have recommendations for good (static) campaigns (BAT WAW),
Preferable long ones that are based in the pacific or have planes you don't get to fly a lot. (Basically something you can't do in Clod or GB)
Some I tired and enjoy are:
JAAF Raging Eagles /  Years of Triumph (LUWA) / USS Enterprise cv6

And generally are there any (good) Torpedo Bomber campaigns? A Swordfish or IJN one maybe?

But regardless I'd like  ask you if you'd like to name your fav campaign and why it's cool, so that people (new to the game or otherwise) have a starting point to find the good stuff also people put so much work in them, so it'll be cool to give the mods a shout out:)

Vern at Mission4today's campaigns, especially these :
P-47 in the Pacific
Inferno: the Seige of Rabaul (P-38)
Red Sun Rising (Hurricane pilot in Singapore)

DHumphrey:
Satan's Angel's (P-38L)
Haven't finished these yet but really enjoying them.

For torpedo bombers you could try the three Beaufort campaigns from vonlarsproductions found at M4T. They are flown in the ETO MTO and PTO theatres.

Cool, thanks to you all (and to those who comment in future, I don't want to spam a thank you under every post, but it's very much appreciated) I will try them out, some of them I might even have installed but not tested yet. :)

But I'm still confused why there are so little torpedo campaigns, and why DGEN doesn't have a single one, same for heavy bombers. Especially given how many different recon options there are, for the spitfire alone. Maybe a deeper problem with the software, or people here just hate torpedoes for some reason^^ (I know DCG has some, but I think I may not understand DCG a 100%, sometimes it works fine, sometimes not so much -and I'm pretty sure it isn't DCG's fault but that I did something wrong)
Maybe some day I'll find the time to learn how to make campaigns myself. Maybe a "best of swordfish" campaign or something like that.

And another recommendation on my part, "Straight down from an airship." I think it's made by electron? I can't find it on m4t, for some reason but I think I just found it's prequels and they are made by electron. But you are pilot of a parasite plane on an airship, trying do dock the thing at the end alone is worth the download. :)

 ;D  Thank you!
If you like recon and really (really) like flying in Il-2, then I have a prequel to this campaign coming for you.

Re: Torpedo.
There are many torpedo missions and even small campaigns on M4T (or here even), but torpedo fighting usually was a one-off deal in a specific battle. You won't get hundreds of missions with action out of this usually. But there are missions out there.

but here you are for example...

Big Bomber missions take a big effort to make. That's why they are so rare in campaign form.
There is one about the Far East Air Force B-17s which I liked really well.

just look through the WAW section in here and you will find plenty.
