I was also surprised, especially since there is no EYES_fr.tga file anywhere on the plane, but somehow this solution worked :P.

... so far, I can't understand why this "fix" solves the issue, unless it is java code related ...  o_O

I think that the line is there because Pilot_Ja is missing his own eye_ja.tga

So what about renaming this texture "eye_ja.tga" and put it in Ranwers Japan pilots Textures folder ...?
