Trouble with Trains

I have been mission building for many years, and have never had trouble placing trains in a mission until now. While working with Larschance on our recent Train Busters campaign, I found that I could not place many Red (Russian) trains on a map. In the end, I used Blue trains and simply changed their Army setting to Red in the FMB.

Here are the details. I am using BAT 4.2.3 currently. All German trains work. The Russian armored trains and the USSR_Locomotive_2 train works. I was unable to place the following trains on a map:

I had the seemingly clever thought to add a Germain train, then change it to one of the Russian trains but that did not work either. The train simply disappeared when I made the switch.

All these trains work fine in a stock 4.2.3. I post you a sample mission with all the trains you named. Can you open that and fly that?

Do you have any additional WxTech Mods, effect mods, anything? Old Train Mod fixes maybe? I suspect it's some addition that messes you up.
Trains were modified in BAT 4.2.3 and may now conflict with older material related to trains.

edit:  It may also be a good idea to search for possible doublettes of chief.ini, technics.ini and stationary.ini in your install

I agree. There is a problem.
I made BAT 4.2, then installed the train mod separately... I can’t hit some of the cars, and some of the trains disappear, as written above. Sorry for my English

Install BAT 4.2.3 and remove all other train mods. Then test again.

This is a crazy one. Before I start, I do indeed have a large number of WxTech's mods, including but not limited to !0_WxTech_TRAIN_classes_ALL-game-versions.

I loaded your mission in the FMB. The aircraft appears but no trains. But when I use Whistlers tool to view chiefs, I can see the trains listed and I can watch them running on the track. Except for the icons showing on the map, all seems normal until I tired to exit the FMB. Then I got a freeze and had to terminate Il-2 via the Task Manager.

Remove all train related mods.
This is the most likely source of your issues.

I removed a number of mods, anything that might have anything to do with trains, and all trains work now. I am impatient, though old enough to know better. I should have removed things systematically but didn't. I may try to go through that exercise sometime in the future, just to see what caused this.

But now all is fine, so thank you once again.

Is a class dump available to d/l for the latest B.A.T.? The crucial classes are of course those in the TraIns folder, as well as Explosions.class.

I do already have 4.2.2 classes; are they current enough regarding trains?

Much preferred are the un-hashed classes. (Java would be ideal, but I can of course decompile the classes, and 9c course can deal with hashed classes if I must.)

If you have been following the posts, it would become clear that a modification coming with 4.2.3 related to trains is the cause for incompatibility with older "train fixes".

So, no, in 4.2.2 you do not have what is necessary.
Also, BAT is delivered with unhashed classes for several years now, you are fine in that department.

Basically: Download the 4.2.3 update and you have all the files you need in unhashed format :)

Pls excuse my interruption Master Vampire_pilot,
I have tried out your test mission,
Are these trains supposed to show their lights after dark?
I changed the time to 21:00hrs and I couldn't see any lights on.
This is a friendly mission so I thought they would keep their headlights on.
