Request - Hughes H-1 Racer
« on: September 24, 2024, 11:47:41 PM »

Hello everyone!
Well, I've been inactive for a long time, but I'm an old member here on the forum, and the older ones will remember me.
A long time ago I tried to get involved with creating MODS for the IL-2.
But since I didn't know how to model 3d, I simply imported models from Flight Simulator.
I remember that I managed to import the standard Extra 300 from FS.
But obviously I didn't have authorization from Microsoft, and I couldn't disclose this.
But I also remember that I asked the creator of the H-1 Racer from Flight Simulator for permission, and he authorized me.
And at the time I managed to get quite far, but I don't remember the reasons, but I ended up giving up working with MODS.
I noticed that we already have the Gee Bee, and other aircraft for civilian use.
I think it would be interesting to have the H-1 here, after all it almost competed with the P-35 and P-36 in 1935, but due to some problems it didn't go ahead.

As shown in this video, Howard Hughes was interested in selling the project to the USAAC.
Who knows, maybe we could install a .50 and a .30 (which was the standard weapon at the time) and see how he could have done, don't you think?

The H-1 that I was importing at the time, if I remember correctly, was this one.
I remember that its texture was in just one file, unlike most FS planes where the texture was divided into more than one file, and this made importing more easier for me.

Forgive me for the grammatical errors, but as many of you know, i am mrazilian and I use Google Translate.
