Confirmation of your words. A large bomb hit the bow, a fire broke out, a list and pitch appeared, and the ship slowed down. A small bomb hit the rear of the flight deck and damaged it, again without fire.

A large bomb hit the stern, completely destroying the rear part of the hangar and part of the Hull3 hull. Another fire broke out, the ship was destroyed, stopped and was sinking.

I simulated a collision situation. Both ships sink without any visible damage at all. Unfortunately, I'm not strong enough in Java to come up with something...

Dropped an RDS bomb on an Essex type aircraft carrier. Three types of fires are clearly visible. The fire and smoke from destroyed artillery is uniform and differs only in size and probably burning time. Plus large fires from destroyed Hull parts. I think you can create a lot of Head gun parts as ‘blanks’ and tie them to parts of the deck, hangars or wherever. In theory, if parts of the ship with tethered false guns are damaged/destroyed, these guns should burn and smoke, though not for long.

The battleship Prince of Wales blew up. Indeed, the higher the strength of the towers specified in the ships.ini parameters, the longer the tower burns and smokes. However, 10-15 seconds is still very little time.

In the two base ship classes I have already increased the duration of fire/smoke. Other modders in the past had done so as well.

I've never looked into other parts of ships beyond the hull and gun elements. I'll have to go back under that hood, it would seem... 😉

Good afternoon. I was able to add fire and smoke effects to the ship model. I attached them to the damaged parts, but the effects are visualized on the undamaged parts. I think fires can be connected in classes using Java, but I don’t know how to do it. Google translation
