IL2 1946 is installed and modded on my laptop from 5 years ago. I have a gaming desktop now that I want get back to this game on. But, I no longer have the original CD, and the new desktop doesn't have DVD drive anyway. Can I move the entire game's folder from this laptop to the desktop on a usb 3.0 flash drive?
If not, I can purchase the game modded to 12.2.2(?) from Epic Games. I no nothing about using games from them or Steam either. I know you have to use an Epic launcher to run the game rather than just open IL2.exe. The game files would be installed in Program Files. If I go the Epic route will I be able to mod this version (SASModact)?

No need to purchase just copy and paste your il-2 folder from your laptop to any drive and it will work just fine

Thanks. I had done this with Silent Hunter IV but wasn’t sure with Il2 complexity and size. Been “under the sea with SHIV” for a long time and anxious to return to IL2 where I left off years ago!
