I am currently re-installing all BAT updates over a fresh dowload of 4.12 Il-2 1946, but when I get to BAT 4.2 install ( BTW it starts with 4 squares indicated on install bar...)I get 3/4 through when install stops and I geta "corrupt files " message. I have pressed ignore , and install will continue until the end and then give me  a "corrupt files". At least once I've continued with all updates and get a successfull game start , but of course during game play in QM all the aircraft choices lead to "corrupt files!"I've tried fresh downloads of the installer and the two zips but with the same results.Can someone help , perhaps by PMing me the two zips that will work?

This is a different issue! You need to delete your last.quick.  (or minimum, press "reset" in QMB)

The fact that during install you get an error message means, some of your archives to install from are damaged. The install might launch but is damaged. You need a to be able to run the installers without error. Only then the download files are good. Useless to ignore this.

4.2 gives you a logfile after install that tells you what exactly is wrong. Get a set of "not curupted files". Download the damaged ones again.

PS: the files are damaged on your end by a faulty download (for whatever reason). The files up on mediafire are fine. So, getting them via PM does nothing for you. just download the files again, maybe use a different browser....

... and make sure to not let your browser just "overwrite" an existing downloaded damaged file. Delete it before you download it again. Your browser might try to be clever and think: Ah, it is already there" so it only fakes a new download, and offers you the same damaged file over and over.

Thanks I managed to get a smooth install of all the updates this morning  and so far as i can tell I am still getting a "corrupt file message in trying to fly any aircraft out of QM utility. Walk me through a possible solution- I really appreciate your help.

Old story when you switch to a new kind of QMB in a new install with a leftover last.quick from some older install. It comes up on the formus now and again.

Maybe this will help: I had to install a new Il-2 1946 install though Steam , which as you know gave me a 4.13 install , which had to be reversed into 4.12 with the help of a downloaded zip 4.13X  de-installer.Which I did this afternoon. Then I immediately ran BAT 4.O. Smooth install ....then ran it just now and still got "corrupt files" in QMB.So I haven't bothered running anything after that...

Check the QMB for a date put in for the mission (there should be a place to input a date, like June 17th 1943, to give a random example). That might be your issue, actually, I've had a similar problem before.

I don't know how it happened but this morning 4.0 was working and after loading all the other updates up to the last one all appears in fresh working order ! Now to find all those single missions I lost when Il-2 crashed...

Yes to "Reset"...No to "last quick..." Where is it so I can delete?

Too easy- thanks! Since all the quicks in this folder would not load either with a "corrupt files ' message I deleted them as well.
