Updating from 3.7.2

After several years of not playing very much, I have taken up IL2 again. My current BAT version is 3.7.2 'Le Grande Cirque'. I see on the downloads page that everything starts at version 4.0 now. Do I need to make a fresh install of 4.12.2 to put BAT v4.0 on, or can I update my 3.7.2 version to 4.0?

Welcome back :)   No, you don't.

You can start with installing 4.0 on top of what you have.
I recommend checking your graphics and settings after you have reached 4.2.
