Question about adding a map in QMB
« on: November 17, 2024, 07:45:27 AM »

I'm trying to add Poland_1939 as a new map for QMB, but do I need to create ALL the mission types before I can test it in game?

Thanks

No you don't necessarily need to have qmb mission to test your map. After installing you can open the map in fmb and create a very simple test mission

Got it working, thanks!

So I don't need all the mission types, right?

Real Darko,

No you do not have to have all mission types, but it makes more sense to create both Red and Blue versions of the mission you want.

If you recall, part of UQMG is the Template Generator (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,73209.0.html).  It is already working and I will have it in the upcoming UQMG 1946 Max Alpha, along with a fully working Diorama Importer (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,73251.0.html), which I finished the coding two nights ago.  The template builder is supposed to work for UQMG, QMB/QMBPro (8 and 16 Flight versions), but today it really only works for UQMG.  In the future it should save time in QMB Template generation.

Here is what I am finding out:
* For the first 4 flights in both Red and Blue team, make sure you use the default Soviet (r01) and German (g01) regiments.  It is probably best to use it for all flights.  And number them  in order...

so...

For Red/Blue Flights 1 - 16
* r0100, r0101, r0102, r0103, r0110, r0111, r0112, r0113, etc
* g0100, g0101, g0102, g0103, g0110, g0111, g0112, g0113, etc

I am having issues making the Taxi patterns with Spawn points work... maybe because I rename the spawn points because of the UQMG code... maybe they need to be in order.

I'll continue to work on UQMG Template Generator and let you know.  I'll try to add the ability of having some different versions of the missions, but no promises, the QMB functionality is a nice to have but not a coding priority at the moment.

(by "upcoming", of course I use the Oleg/IL-2 "two-weeks" timeline, which is....  well... whenever :D )

you can start with the basic red and blue none mission and if you have time you can create the rest the first could be something like:  Poland_1939RedNoneN00.mis and Poland_1939BlueNoneN00.mis

I need to keep this at a minimum of work as my free time is limited, I was able to add the Air to Air mission and it works properly, will add the airfield attack for Blue and both Red and Blue attacks on armor so I can have quick missions for the 1939 campaign.
I apreciatte your work Uber, but is too much job for me.
