Hm... okay.
If you don't mind, I'd like to call for an additional test, just to rule out things I haven't noticed yet.
First and foremost, the way to swap the BAT 4.3 selector against any former version is to exchange two folders and one file:
- "bin" folder
- "lib" folder
- "IL-2 Selector.exe" file
After changing files, run "IL-2 Selector.exe", check & save settings.
You need one fresh set of "bin" and "lib" folders from a game
not being BAT 4.3, plus the corresponding "IL-2 Selector.exe" file (from whichever selector version you want to test against).
The second set is "bin" and "lib" folders and "IL-2 Selector.exe" from a fresh, untouched BAT 4.3 installation.
If you want to continue testing, I'd recommend you zip both sets and keep them in a safe place for further testing.
Now the test consists of running both the "old" and "new" Selector version with same settings, read: No Auto RAM adjustment on the new Selector, instead use static values like you did with the old one.
Comparative Test would then be to run the "new" Selector on Auto Settings, with Expert Mode enabled and the two magic lines:
-Xmx512M
-XX:MaxPermSize=128M
...added in the "Additional JVM Parameters" box.
You can play around with these two values a bit, but as soon as you stay well within system limits, there should be no noticeable difference anymore.
I'm really curious as to whether there are any differences at all, and if so, which is the best and worst performer.
