Just to clarify when you move to the bombardier position you activate the CAMERAAIM hook that in IL-2 has restricted FOV and movements. This view is dedicated to using the bomb sight and nothing else. In fact in planes that are using the German, British, Russian or US sights you don't even have a view of the pit but just of the sight scope. Due to the way how the Italian sight works you have a larger view that includes parts of the cockpit however  the camera movements are still restricted and you can't pan around. This is why your Track IR don't work. In fact is not supposed to be working. When you use Shift+F1  you activate the CAMERA hook that has much larger freedom of movement so you can pan around and your Track IR will work normally. All this is as intended there is no bug. In other bombardier cockpits is the other way around, you enter with the CAMERA hook active and you can pan around and move then you press Shift+F1 and you enter the CAMERAAIM with restricted movements.

I understood well the difference from other bombers.

Maybe the fun from the Bombardier cockpit on the CA-135 would be great.

Thank you.

Ok, I've started again with a fresh download, and inserted the mod without rearranging any internal files. I now get the standard 60% CTD with the following log entry:

Main begin: PlMisAir(GUIQuick): class 'air.Ca_135' not found
java.lang.RuntimeException: PlMisAir(GUIQuick): class 'air.Ca_135' not found

I do see the 'Ca_135.class' embedded in the com/maddox/il2/objects/air file, and I have loaded the new graphic dlls.

thanks for any help!

cheers

It is difficult to say as before you stated that the mod was loading normally and you could see the plane just couldn't fly with it. While now there is clearly a mod install error as the class file are not being picked up.

You should have .(your game)......\#SAS\00_Ca_135 Beta1\ here you need just the three folders named 3do, cod and com and the file CA135_FM. All the rest you can delete.

Please let me know if you are using the original selector that comes with the 5.3 modact that is now 12 year old or if you have updated to the last version 5.1.2 from here https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,16403.0.html

If you are using the old version please upgrade as you will only get advantages from this with faster load time, improved memory management, the dump function and other things.

Hallo Gunny, many thanks.

About the Gonio antenna, Frankiek have found an historical drawing on which the antenna is positioned on the left edge of the nacelle

Thanks to the Dandolo and whole team for the airplane, commitment, skins and their conversion to 1mb,

@herbarnold99

I had the same error using unhashed files, the version for 4.09 also did not work, the solution was to mix both versions using only the class files for 4.09 without the com file,

Best Regards,
Piotrek

Have installedit, following what Frankiek said in his last post.

No problem to load the game, no problem to fly the plane, everything.

My impressions :

-seems severely under-powered at take-off (or maybe I choosed a too heavy loadout ???),
-when in the pilot place, the left engine and propeller are quite OK, but it is like I see the right propeller too forward, like not attached to the engine, but in outside view (F2), it looks OK,
-landing is easy,
-skins can be changed, no problem, but for unknown reason, the Peruvian ones do not work (as far as I have seen, these are the only ones who do not work...). But I did not try all the other ones, only a few randomly picked.

Will have to do some more testing when have time.

Anyway... thanks for the nice work !!!

Edit : by the way... I installed in BAT-WAW, last version.

The lack of power was unfortunately the main reason why this plane wasn't produced in large numbers and not adopted by the italian air force in WWII
I tried to give to this plane a realistic flight model

No problem to load the game, no problem to fly the plane, everything.

My impressions :

-seems severely under-powered at take-off (or maybe I chose a too heavy loadout ???),
-when in the pilot place, the left engine and propeller are quite OK, but it is like I see the right propeller too forward, like not attached to the engine, but in outside view (F2), it looks OK,

Edit : by the way... I installed in BAT-WAW, last version.

As mentioned I chose to provide a realistic Flight Model for this plane. Since inception the Ca.135 was troubled by insufficient power  and unreliable engine problems. Caproni tried to use different engine types to solve the problem starting with inline air cooled Isotta Fraschini Asso to move to the radial Fiat A80 and finally to the Piaggio PXI RC40 that could provide 1000 HP at altitude but only 870 at take off. Moreover the two Piaggio engines installed where both spinning to the right with a strong torque effect felt more at low speed in particular during take off and landing. Considering the power available there was almost no chance of carrying a full load of fuel with the maximum bombload  of 1,600 Kg.

Fully aware of this visual glitch from the pilot seat most notable during take off less so in flight. to minimize the problem in beta two we will have a slightly different FOV and camera hooks orientation

the skin problem is due to some characters in the Peruvian and Spanish skin names please just take out the vowels with accent from the names( ù to u ò to o à to a) and everything will work. Artiglio has already modified the skin pack accordingly.

Thank you for the comments
