Spreadsheet for Control Assignments ?
« on: March 01, 2025, 12:27:54 PM »

Hi Guys ,

Clearly even I could do this myself if required , but I am hoping someone out there has already done this and is
willing to share the fruit of their labours.

Does anyone have either a spreadsheet or word doc of all the IL2 Controls where you can input your key and hotas
assignments ?

I don't know about you , but I need different assignments for working between Fighters/Jabos/DBs/TBs from those I
use when Level Bombing , and the older I get the more I forget what I have mapped.

It would be useful to me to have them laid out on paper ( yeah I know I am an old codger ) to have beside me at the PC
desk.

Any help appreciated.

You actually have this in IL-2.

If you go to your users folder inside the pilot folder you have the settings.ini file where all of your controls are memorized.

So all you need to do is to create a different pilot for each profile you would like to create. let's say that pilot1 is for fighter settings pilot2 bomber etc  etc.

When you need a specific setting you just go to the pilot with that profile and copy paste the control settings to your current pilot.

For ease of reference I built also an excel sheet where I would just copy paste the settings.ini file with each column being a Pilot. As this was many years ago on a different PC I just can't find this file any more but is not difficult to create one from scratch.

I don't get it.
Is this the document you're talking about?
https://archive.org/details/Il-2_Sturmovik_1946_Controls/page/n1/mode/2up
This document is part of the IL-2 CDs.

Thanks Epervier ,
I have that foldout somewhere , but Frankiek is correct.
I am looking for a simple document that I can keep on my desktop for
my different pilot control assignments.
I can bite the bullet and make my own ; I was just hoping some other
old school pencil and paper guy might have already done it and saved
me some work.

Thanks GenX

I should have looked in the M4T Knowledge Base myself.
Apologies.
