UltraPack FMB Object Guide
« on: March 27, 2025, 10:22:51 AM »

Hi Guys,

I did poke around before asking this question , and was unable to find an answer
that satisfied my peculiarly particular brain.

Is there a FMB Objects Guide specifically for UltraPack ( and more specifically for UltraPack Cassie ? )?
Most other builds that I am familiar with have at least some sort of verbal name beside the
Object Entry number in the FMB viewer.
Once you get a large number of entries , it becomes tedious to scroll through each and every entry to
find a specific object. Either adding a verbose name in the FMB GUI , or a document of some type
with the objects listed would be very helpful and save considerable time in building Missions and Templates.

If such an endeavour has already been made , please direct me to it.

Thanks.

I remember something called Static Objects for Ultrapack. Probably, for older versions.
I'm not near my PC now, can not check.

Edit:
Probably, it was this one. Download link is dead, unfortunately. But I did use it (or a similar one) for Ultrapack.

There is an object browser in the "View" menu of the UltraPack FMB that allows you to view the objects' 3D models and names, and jump between sections of objects.

On average, the average average averages, averagely, the average average of all averages.

Okay,

Got to apologize , though I don't know what happened.
I have made hundreds of Missions , and a several Campaigns in several different versions
and Mods of IL2 1946 - in short I am not a stranger to the FMB ( though that was once the case ).
I have recently re-installed UltraPack ( Cassie + Update + Hotfix ) for the first time.
The last time I installed UltraPack , the version was 2.01.
I was fooling around with my new UP Cassie , having a look around for what was in there and what
wasn't , you know what you do with each new install - new planes , new maps , new objects ,
new FMB tools , all that jazz.

My FMB Object list was numerated , but had no descripted verbose names.
I was disappointed , expecting more.
Posted my query looking for a document detailing the Object List so I could save time
in mission making.

Had a look at the post today hoping for direction to a download.

Before I answered the post by FL2070 , I wanted to make sure of my Ps and Qs and opened my Cassie.
Son of a bitch there were names with the numbers today.
WTF ?
I am the first to admit my lame capabilities with computer activities ; I have made no secret of it , but I
tend to know pretty well what I do know.
I am pretty good in the FMB. Fairly experienced , and I did not mistake the Objects list
not having any names , only entry numbers.

Anyhow , all seems to be well now , me having taken no steps whatsoever.

I am going to go make a mission to prove it.

Gosh am I getting old fast.

Gremlins, it's them.

Sometimes, I make a mission, and something changes inside by itself.
Waypoints disappear or change properties as 300 m altitude instead of 3000 m, groups of objects are deleted or moved elsewhere, etc.
Of course, it's not me. My accuracy is 100% and my memory is perfect.

Damned gremlins.
