~S~

I am on UP2.0n but have not been able to get this map to work in any version since the map was released. I have d/l'd the main D/L, the Update and the 2 replacement files, installed so many times I forget. I have entered the proper entry in all.ini in /mapmods/maps.

It won't load in FMB, with an error message "World (0) land (0) Coral_Islands Coral_Islands/load.ini error".

Does the Coral_Tex folder sit in _Tex or does it go in the _Tex/land or some other sub-folder?

I've installed other maps without a hitch but haven't been able to figure this one out after reading every thread on it I can find.

Would some kind soul suggest possible solutions, please? Thanks much in advance for your time and effort! I am content to wait for V. 2 but this just nags me no end.

Yeah, it would nag me too, Strider  ;)
When you load the map in FMB, and it gives that World (0)...etc error, would you then press Shift+Tab to bring up the console log.....a lot of text will appear onscreen. Check the last 4 or 5 lines, and you should find a more specific error message, normally it's a missing texture.
Let me know what it says, and i can try and help you further... ;)
The Coral_Tex folder should sit in _Tex folder, not in any subfolder of _Tex... :)

~S~, Sir!

Thank you for the quick reply!

Of course, I should have thought of checking the console for error details---DOH!

"INTERNAL ERROR: Can't open file "Maps/_Tex/forest/summer/dlv_ForestFar.tga"

I looked in _Tex/forest/summer and do not have a dlv_ForrestFar.tga file.

I have Coral_Tex in the right place.

Problem analyzed but where would I get the required file? From a dlv d/l but which one? Please and thank you for your time and effort, m8!

Ok, here's the missing file for you, mate: https://storebror.it.cx/sas/archive/sas2/Malone/dlv_ForrestFar.rar
Put it in your Maps/_Tex/forest/summer/ folder, you should be good to go.  ;)
I think I see where a lot of guys are having problems with this map with UP2.0. I originally did this based on the old UI, which had a lot of these textures included. I just copied all my textures from there into my UP install, hence i've had no hassles. Obviously they aren't all in UP, or possibly in a slightly different folder structure, hence the problems for many.
Sorry for the inconvenience, UP users, all these issues will be rectified with version 2.  8)

Thanks very much, m8!

I extracted and checked that it was in the correct place in IL-2 directory.

But now console error tells me I have no dlv_ForrestGround2.tga in the _Tex /forest/summer folder---in fact, I have nothing by dlv in that folder, only SL_xxxx. I deleted my old U.I. for the disk space or I would get them there.

Best, I think, that your time is better spent to continue to develop V.2 rather than hunt up files for me. I will see what I can find on my own. But the nag has been quelled, so it's all good, m8! I'll keep a recon for V.2, at your pace and convenience.

Thanks also on behalf of all in the community whom you spend so much time and effort to assist, as well as your modding. Not everyone posts their gratefulness (that would double the size of the forum, lol!) but rest assured it is universally heartfelt.

~S~ and Cheers!

cool, man - you can always just use another texture in place of the missing ones, just rename it accordingly in the load.ini, if you know how...just choose another forest file, so that it dsoesn't look too out of place.... ;)

Rgr that, m8.

Now that I've done some of the water texture changes, I understand the pathway structure for textures in load.ini and the relationship to how to call them. I'm sure I can handle that.

Thanks again. Have a good 'un!

sorry, Yeager....if this version doesn't work for you, you'll have to wait until i'm done with the new version...if you go through the thread, you'll see that i am no longer going to re-upload the entire thing for every single individual who has a problem. it'd end up costing me Gigs of bandwidth, and still there'd be guys with problems.
you'll understand better if you read through the rest of the thread, but for now you'll either have to ask another member to upload it for you or something.
alternatively, and what i recommend, please wait for version 2.  ;)

if you are having errors when extracting it, you possibly have a corrupted d/l.
what exactly is the error message? i need the specific error, please...
the thing is, when i made this version, it was originally designed to run with UI 1.1 and UP, and it would be necessary to have the extra textures downloaded, as well.
this isn't mentioned, because as i have previously stated in this thread, i am not doing any more work on this old version, but will fix it all for the 2nd version.
try the same method of searching for this file, but i think you might not have this texture in HSFX.
i don't use HSFX, so i don't know what is included with it.
you could alternatively just edit the load.ini with this line, to point to a similar forest texture in your install. then, at least, the map will load, but the new texture might not look as good, or it might even look better, i don't know...
it is easy to adjust textures this way, just by editing the lines in load.ini to point to textures you have....trial and error, to find ones that look good.  :)
also, in the thread are one or two updates. have you tried them yet? because they are necessary...

NOTE to any future users of this version: I am not supporting this current version anymore. If you have issues with textures, there are simple techniques you can use to replace textures with those you have. These techniques are already explained.
Basically, you're on your own with this version. Use it to learn the map modding techniques, which are really quite simple
:)
V2 is on the way, but still a way off.....don't ask me 'when', because i will ignore such questions. When it's done, is the answer.  ;)
