About the winter map: when looking in the far distance it seems that some Ijswater textures are floating on air a bit.
Yep, noticed that too, haven't got a clue why custom ice textures go funny in the distance. Haven't spent much time testing it though.
In my opinion it looks a bit too much like Russian winter. Winter in the Netherlands back in 1940 was severe with a lot of snow and ice but I can't imagine the entire country was covered with snow. Especially along the coastline: salt water and snow don't like each other very much.
I've based the winter map on the crude knowledge I have about the 1940 European winter; which was a bitterly cold one apparently -- ice storms, anti cyclones, freezing of the seas, snow in Spain, freezing of the mercury in temperature meters etc.
http://www.ukweatherworld.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=6383&posts=6I know it's all rudimentary WIP but just to let you know.
Yep, but thanks anyway. The winter map it was done in a very basic way without bothering too much about details.
Request: please populate Volendam so I can send German bombers to it. It will save the Dutch population from musical pollution that started in the seventies up till now.
Ha hah, I used to live on a boat in neighbor town Monnickendam.. couldn't agree more with the necessity for a obliterating bombardment of the epicenter of worst Dutch music ever.
If anyone has gotten intrigued and wants to find out what kind of music Volendam has spawned.. DON'T!!!
