Yeah , I was even considering to convince those guys who work with OpenGL games on one of
the OpenGL forums and know OpenGL code the best for rewriting game engine
code but their opinion was mostly that they would rather literally kill themselves than
rewriting old OpenGL 1.2 code game with new OpenGL version code .
In one word , it's just too much work and unnecessary frustration , to them it's better to do
new game from scratch than editing older versions .
Imagine having real life cockpit shadows in IL-2 1946 , BANG !! who need BoB:SoW ?
It's truly amazing that in the past few years , there was never any OpenGL code enthusiast
who would take such a task for love of playing this simulator .
We haven't been lucky thus far , more likely we might have find someone to do it in DirectX.
I tried to death DX version with at least 1.4 shader and DirectX 9.0 which shader is necessary
for perfect water but the game engine won't budge , for those who knows DirectX would be
a question of editing few necessary entries for the dx8Wrap.dll so it can read correctly and
load DirectX 9.0 versions
I tried convertor from d3d8.dll to d3d9.dll and the game will load with loading mod note but
with black screen
Holy shit !
