I can only get about 570km/h true airspeed at about 5000m with supercharger in second stage, 100% prop pitch, 100% fuel mixture, 110%throttle, trimed for level flight. Am I doing something wrong ? Is this model the:
Ki44-I powered by a 930 kW (1,250 hp) Nakajima Ha-41 engine, with a maximum speed of 580 km/h
or
Ki44-II 1,074 kW (1,440 hp) Nakajima Ha-109 engine with a top speed of 604 km/h ?

+1
I think this aircraft really represents a hybrid of Ki-44-I and -II, with features of both (see my post on previous page). I would understand if there was confusion, considering the circumstances surrounding it. But, it beats the heck out of NO Ki-44. I really appreciate this one.

the FM's are indeed from the Tainan pack, we did not touch them, and these cutouts are also not by us, and are, afaik, cut "as-is" from the tainan pack, with some fixes to the LOD values.

I had a look inside, and see there are only two FM's for Ki44, and all 4 these planes use one or the other of them. The FM's are marginally different in only small respects.

Both FM's use the same engine file, so performance in that respect would be the same, the only variables being from the fmd files themselves, and would be very small.

I think this is more or less correct, as these slots are all variants of the Type II family, which had the Nakajima Ha-109 engine.

The type I family had the Nakajima Ha-41 engine with less power, and the type III family had Nakajima Ha-145 which was more powerfull.

So I think the similar speeds you get from all the type II's is correct. The biggest diffference in this family is that of armament, as far as I can tell.

I can't wait to get this working, as I have wished to fly this unsung A/C. I downloaded Polatva (?sorry if spelled wrong) Shoki Campaign and HSFX 4 just to fly this Demon Queller.
After trying each of the 3 Ki-44 links from this thread, I have found a discrepancy, the Armnt 'tga' files for the bomb racks all read 17kb & GIMP 2.6 and Quicktime Viewer says they are corrupt and/or cannot open/show them.
Is their any one with both of the working Bombrack tga's (or both Bombrack Folders?) that might be able to zip/rar them & post?

I haven't installed the Shoki yet until I'm 110% sure I got all correct - wouldn't want to do injustice to JapanCat, TK (when they were friendlier & helped by JC), the 'Mystical Cutout' Persons, Rebel and others etc, involved in bringing the Ki-44-II-Ko into the virtual skies.

I have read all the posts here and at AAS connected to the WIP Ki-44, and I was miffed to say the least about TK's attitude, but then again thats only part of the story & politcs of which any of us mostly know, so, I hope something can be sorted in the future, like for the next publicly released & stable (eg HSFX 5 ..?) might contain this Firery spirited minor deity, the culler of demons; and some of its variants.

Thanks very much Fly for the rar (DL'ed size is 15.99mb), can't wait to get home and extract, and hopefully install !

Just checked the tga's, they do the same but I still replaced the original downloaded Shoki's, so I take it this is how they are then; the game can open them but I can't? I'm probably over reacting.

Got it working!! I question, has Phase, JC, or anyone made a template for this, or a available 'void' skin?

No template found yet, but I started doing some alterations to some skins to create different, not done yet. Heres some pics; so far the skins are a mix of TK & S&K with some of my own additions/editing, so far currently a more realistic Ha109 engine - still need some shading work to it to make it look like its inside the cowling, done some light paint chipping work and added some details to - rear engine/accessory bay outlets.

Does anyone know if Bulls_i or Jesters Ink are around?
I might attempt to make a template for this if one isn't available from a much edited combo from their respective Ki-43-I & Ki-84 Templates, but that would take ages...

I have a question  :-[, would be possible perhaps in a future revision of this MOD, change the Ki-43I control panel by the Ki-43II control panel?

The Ki-43I is a simple plane, with a simple control panel, too simple in my opinion for the Shoki, a plane rather more complex...

Here's a picture I found, that although the panels aren't the same as the 43 series, they are similar enough; sorry for posting slightly off topic, and no offence meant to Beserker,- by the way, I like your Me-210 Template, is it suitable for the (or an early) 410?

My request was based only on a mine assumption  :), I never seen a Shoki cockpit so far.

I'm glad to see, which is very similar to Hayabusa cockpit ;)

Thanks for sharing

I have a problem loading this a/c in UP 2.01.  When I add it to the air.ini file in the MODS folder, I get the 60% ctd.  When I remove this entry then there is no problem but of course no Ki-44.
I have loved this aircraft since I first saw it.  I must have been 20 or so and thought "wings forward, really... Must be fast"
Help me fly the Shoki please :-)
