Spitfire MKVc (Without sand scoops)
« on: September 19, 2010, 11:45:56 AM »

Ok guys, I have fixed up all the planes, added a few more and even game them new defaults. You'll need to delete the old one completely, including the air.ini or it will give you a 60% CTD. re install the new one and you're ready to go

installed easy and looks and flies fine, great stuff, but in my particular install/however if you have the sand nosed 5c from ultrapack if you select them in qmb they will morph and show the longer exhaust, no sand filter but front of plane changes to like model  plastic color. Im in up 2.1 and also have the sas spitfire pack. Im not mod savvy to explain it better but there appear to be some kind of conflict with any 5c variant.

Could you maybe get a couple of before and after pics to show what your saying? I too have all the spitfires, but I am using SAS Modact2.2 at the moment. It was tested on UP as well with no problems. The nose cowling is off the MkVIII, but the FM is that of the MkV.

This is how the 4 gun with sand filter is showing in qmb, it appears without filter and longer exhausts

this is the 2 cannon mkvc

your mod planes show as they should but have some type of conflict as depicted in first picture

Engine cowling of a Mk8.

As for the skins not lining up like they should, they use the Mk 8 skins not the Mk5. That should cover that black part up and cover the exhaust headers correctly.

These were tested in UP2.01 and SAS MODACT 2.1 & 2.2 and all worked fine. But I'll look around to see what I can find.

Hi, great start to the Vc without the volkes filter, most had the three stack exhausts though exept for some (quite a few infact) retrofitted with the six stack which improved performance by about 10 MPH in level flight mostly in LF version used as fighter bombers late43/44/45 period. The main difference from b/c was the addition of belted cannon ammo on the c 120 rounds as oposed to 60 in a universal wing. It's great to see the mod, I hate that bloody Volkes thing, though the game was right to represent it for the c's, many were besmirched by it's carbuncle like presence. A gash job of developing a filter for sure -far too big and heavy. The Yanks developed a filter (I forget it's name) which was only a small hole under the Prop boss above the oil tank (I think). Which brought it's performance up to normal Spit V standards and retrofitted them to many of thier planes. Great work, nice to see this type in the game.

Totally agree stugumby.

Volkes filter and shorter exhaust on UP2.01 SpitfireMkVc and SpitfireMkVc4xH are changed by this mod.

Well spotted.....

No problem Riken.

Always patient and appreciate your work.
