P-40E continued
« on: October 08, 2010, 06:28:54 PM »

For starters you will want this mod:
P-40 corrected wings
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,8330.0.html

This is a continuation of that mod for the nose and fuselage of the P-40E.

corrections incude:

Moved to cockpit forward
Adjusted and scaled the chin radiator and intake scoop to reflect whats depicted in photos.
Moved the pilot position forward, both external and internally.

samples:
USAAF new model
RAF old model

One small bug:
There is a section on the nose that won't smooth. It is not all that noticeable, but just know that
i have tried to correct it but the 3d program i use won't smooth that section.
It is possibly a bug with in the conversion process.  For now, i think this is a good start and am open to suggestions.

 Yes billswagger!

You made my day! long time waited that fix! There is a lot of planes with wrong position pilots!

Please, you can work with Wolfighter pilots, better necks and no big heads, will be great!

 Thank you!

hi billswagger tried your mod in 2 different installs together with the "new wings mod" and having a small issue:
with outside view (Shift F2) I actually see the head of the pilot prtruding from the canopy during turns!
it's quite strange and the resulting effect is pretty comical: have you ever experienced that?
thks a lot anyway and best regards,
gianluca
