Flyable Cockpits for all Dakota Variants by Ranwers, incl Li2 Gunner
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Updated to v2.1, and now also includes Li2 gunner position by Peacelovinghippy)
This is based around the excellent C47 cockpit by Ranwers. This version creates a seperation from the B24 cockpits folder, thereby avoiding any possible conflicts.
This SAS version also makes the Li2 and L2D flyable , albeit with the same english cockpit (for now)
If using this mod in conjunction with SAS buttons, you wil also enjoy continiously improved flightmodels of these.
Instal by placing the folder "Cockpit Dakotas" in your MODS folder.
No additional steps required, BUT, make sure all previous versins of these are removed from your Mods and Files folders.
To do this, search these folders (MODS and FILES) for files bearing the same names as the hashed files in this mod (The 7 files with the weird number and letter names and no extentions, like " 69D7EA966869F1DC " )
This Mod was made by Ranwers, and this specific version's classfiles by CirX
Download Dakotas_SAS_Ranwers_v2.1plus (https://storebror.it.cx/sas/archive/sasdl/SASMODSCP/Dakotas_SAS_Ranwers_v21plus.7z)
Also, if you use this mod, we HIGHLY reccomend that you also download and install Wolfighter's beautifull 3d updates for these planes, here: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,58.0.html (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,58.0.html)
I have a problem. I isntalled this mod, and I love it.
But for some reason, now I have this cockpit:
(https://www.sas1946.rocks/images/imageshit/dead/dead.gif)
The first time when I tried this, it had the real C-47 cockpit from the picture in the first post, but now I flew this plane again, and it have this cockpit. Is there any mods what changes the C-47/L2D/Li-2 cockpits for this (what's in my picture)?
Edit: Okay, I fixed by deleting the PBJ planes, and the things what need to work these planes =D
-
Cockpits are OK for C-47and L2D, but Li-2 still has the above cockpit... strange !
-
Weird... >_>
Try to rename the folder Cockpits_Dakotas v21plus into 000_Cockpits_Dakotas v21plus. It works for me.
All the cockpit mods (and aslo the most of the simple effects, and the maps too) works with 4.10/4.101 =D
You sure about that Dino ?? Bit of a sweeping statement - I would suggest anything without a classfile prob works in 4.101 ??
Maybe a stupid question... what does this 000_ mean ? what does it do ?
By the way... it solved the problem in my C6 install, but I would like to understand why.
-
It make the mod load before so it can give precedence avoiding other interfering codes.
Yep, as far as I know, everything without classfiles, works in 4.101 =D
Hi guys. I have found a picture of the Li-2 cockpit. It seems different with the ones here.
The DC-3/C-47 cockpits will vary tremendously based on who ordered them. Back in the days of piston engined commercial aircraft, each purchaser would specify what instruments, radios, and navigation equipment they wanted and where they wanted the switches and instruments placed in the cockpit. Military contracts were far more uniform. Restored aircraft can really confuse the situation as modern instruments often replace the originals and the placement may also be changed. The Li-2 was license built, so it is likely to vary from U.S. built C-47's.
What I see in the three photos posted above:
Photo 1 looks like a restored aircraft, but close to original except for the radios.
Photo 2 is a modernized DC-3 with newer instruments and weather radar.
Photo 3 looks to be an original DC-3/C-47, but with ILS instruments added.
Thank you tarakan67, I appreciate it.
Thanks Gerax, unfortunately it doesn't work for me :(
I have a 30% freeze when the mission is loading.
It's seems it's because my installation is 4.101m with modact 3.06 while tarakan67's work is for 4.11.1, even if this post is dedicated to 4.09 & 4.10.
I don't know what changes exactly... I must consider changing to 4.11.1.
Anyway, thanks for sharing!
