Hi chaps,
As promised I'm starting to put in order my mods and publish them before I leave you guys alone :-) I can't both work, manage my real life and dedicate to this so I have to quit one of the three. Fortunately I had this week off being at home so I'm being able to finish Hawaii and wrap up the rest of packages. Hawaii now under beta testing and finishing the sea so in the meantime here is Korea :)
Credits:
- Oleg & team of course
- 3BG team for this beautiful map (and quite easy to repaint one due its excellent map_T)
- Mixx and Viking for their excellent textures, the textures in this map are variations of them
- All the modders in particular the responsibles of the nice 1950's aircraft
Version 1.0 download link: https://www.mediafire.com/?4dzfqykt2jg4yo4 (https://www.mediafire.com/?4dzfqykt2jg4yo4)
Instructions to install:
- Delete previous folders of 00_whc_Retextured_3BG_KTO
- Copy the folder 00_whc_Retextured_3BG_KTO_v.1.0 into MODS folder.
- Add the lines in add_to_all_ini.txt to your MODS/Mapmods/maps/all.ini
If you want to use the missions you have already in these maps you have to change the 2nd line
of each .mis file from:
MAP 3BG_KTO/load.ini
to:
MAP 3BG_KTO/whc_load.ini
Have fun!!

Fantastic, finally a new textured theatre for my Sabres, I mean a historically fitting new one.
Thanks!
Cheers
Tom :)

Hehe you and your Sabre mania :) enjoy it

Alternatively, you can (save a copy of the original load.ini of course,) simply change the file name of whc_load.ini to just load.ini and put it into 3BG_KTO.
This looks great Whitecat- thanks for your work and sharing :)
Will give it a try later today

Had to come back after giving a try and say I like what you did with this map.
Thanks again :)

You're welcome mate :) It's going to be a good scenary for 1956 package :)

The Original Author of the Map gives his blessing. Looks Good.
I keep trying to find someone that could build third party DCG for this Map. I've been studying DCG creation and hate what I'm reading, cause I've got two kids now and not the time.
Keep up the fun work.

Cheers Dixiecapt :) not aware of any DCGs. There are some nice static campaigns around though. Have you checked Craken's Gabby in Korea?
Have a nice Xmas, I also intend to spend more time this Xmas with my family than with Il2 :D

Hi chaps, I've played a bit over the map with the Poltava's 'Mud movers 1952' and it's a quite nice campaign, I recommend it, quite good immersion and a good way to discover the F84 Thunderjet :)

But... it's just a retexture, or what? I need the original map? Or not?
-
It's a retexture. Use search functionality in here or AAS to look for the 3BG KTO map, to download the original one.

Nice job!!! :)

Fantastic! Very original solution

Yes, I've used this for the new version of "Mud Movers" and it really is a FABULOUS repaint!
Highly recommended!

Thanks mate :-) unluckily after my PC disaster I didn't installed IL2 again also because being very busy with work but now and then I check this site, happy you guys still enjoy it :-)
-
You bet, Whitecat! I think your repaints are gorgeous, and has actually saved many a map that otherwise would have just laid there, unused on the HD. Just a big THANK YOU - I have got them all, and is most impressed! ;D

PS: And/or try to increase the RAM amount in the SAS Selector. I think 512MB is safe for most systems.
:)
Hm, forgot where the paratrooper error was last mentioned. :-\

Solvable?

I think SAS~Bombsaway posted a mod for this in one of his latest maps, IIRC here..
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,29185.0.html
..best way is to find that object in Full Mission Builder and place it over your wanted airbase.
Even better if doing so in the map modding FMB+. Please do not ask me to do that...use the search function. :D ;)
But you could pm SAS~Bombsaway for the object and then add it to your install and that's it, maybe you need to add some text to your static.ini entry.
I hope you know about the basics of modding your game, otherwise you are screwed as far as adding new objects and texts goes.. ;)
If you still visit the BMS forum, I posted a basic guide for modding your game there, that will help..let me know if..
-
PS:
Zsolt, you only need this mapmod...
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,29185.0.html
First link! That includes the rusty ground plates..You only need to add the folder to your #DBW subfolder and add the entry at the bottom of the static.ini..then you will most probably find the object in the Full Mission Builder at the bottom of "Objects". You can then try to place it over your airbase, but TBH in FMB+ this works way better...but that's a journey you need to take on your own, finding all the threads that deal with FMB+ is well...time consuming atm..sorry. ;)
Edit, here something for starters...sorry, if you want to add something in FMB+ aka as map add, you need to read through that, at least skip the first 2 pages..adding stuff in the Full Mission Builder is usually less efficient as compared to doing that in the map building FMB+...your call.. :)

Tom
For trees or cars or ships etc and missions surely the normal FMB works, but if you want to replace an airbase model with otehr plates, unless it is a base without any plates or runways and only textures-you need the Full Mission Builder+ and your install modded for map building/editing.
-
Hi Tom,
Is there any solution to add RUST_PCP objects to the runway # DBW folder?
Regards,
Zsolt
-
Hi Zsolt!
To be honest, do not understand what you mean.. :-\ with "runway # DBW folder"..if you already have a folder for 3DO/Airfield anywhere in #DBW, you can add it there.
Also the 3DO folder does not have to be in "MapMods".
..Can be also under "\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\#DBW\STD\3do". E.g. Or like in other install versions under Files/3Do...
Sure you can just add the 3DO folder from SAS+Bombsaway's South Atlantik map and add the static.ini entry. Then you can add the plate in your Full Mission Builder or the mapmodding FMB+.
The difference is in the Full Mission Builder, the list under 'Objects' is simply ordered by numbers, in the FMB+ you get names for different objects. In the first version you need to know where the object is according to the number list..e.g. object 1767 or so, and in the 2nd version you only need to know the name of the object...e.g. "RUST_PCP objects"
From Bombs' map read:
"
4- Place the 3do folder in your MapMods "#DBW/MapMods/" folder so you will have two folders in there. The 3do folder ann the Maps folder.
5- Add the static.ini entry to your static.ini. Do a search in the static .ini for PCPPlate and place the new entry under that one.

BTW, if you add the entry for static.ini at the end above the end marks, you will see the new plate as last objects in the long list when searching in the default normal FMB under "Objects" AFAIK.

Hello guys
someone can he put the link of original map of the 3BG-Korea Theatre of Operations ?
Thanks
-
Hi Whitecat!
I'm doing a mod that add all maps in a common and compatible series of sfs files x all installation.
ATM I'm consolidating maps before start to create new sfs.
Since this retexture should be added at such mod , I have noticed that for the winter map version we should keep the original 3BG one , but even if all textures don't change the 'feel' of the map from summer to winter because them are about different earth apparence , the airfields give different feel because have different aspect from the two seasons....
....what I'm wondering about is if you can think to create the 4 new airfield textures for the winter version to make both map feel as the same?
Thanks in advance for your consideration!
All the very best!

For those of you who need the original 3BG map, I found it here:

Hi, apologies but I can't really, lately I'm out of development as I'm traveling for work most of the time with no access to my il2 rig. It's been almost a year I don't play or develop, since my repaint of Vietnam, I connect here to see what you guys are up to but that's it. Sorry! I'll take it into account if I start modding again!
-
Thanks for your reply mate!
Don't worry about my request....I was only wondering!
My best whishes for your RL and work!
....and also to have free times to play a little sometimes!!!
;)
-
Hehe thanks, I'd wish I could even play :) I'm a real IT nomad, last 3 months in NYC and now in London away from my home in Switzerland
-
If you'll go to Torino in Italy let me know....we can taste a pizza and a beer together!
EDIT
....even more than one beer!
;)
-
Hey, you know what? It could be fun! I'm based in Lugano (when I'm there :-) and I haven't ever met anyone from the il2 community in person :-) or maybe we could meet half-way at Milano :-) let's talk by email outside this thread, when I return to Switzerland
-
I usually travel to Milano to see expo about modelling (end of september) and reenactment (end of may)....
When you'll come back at home we can tell better and try to organize!
In the meantime my best whishes and regards!
-
thanx ))

Does it work with 4.12.
-
Yes. Maps works with every modded games version.
