Title: benitomuso's MODs for 4.10m (Updated Jan 30th, 2010) [4.10]
Post by: benitomuso on December 25, 2010, 10:21:39 AM
Dear All,

I have updated most of my MODs to work properly with 4.10m patch. Some of them required minor changes, others a lot of double-check, and verification. The only known issue is with the True Air Speed of the Bombsight Assist, that I will correct when I come back home (I'm abroad now).

I have worked a lot to polish the different bugs and strange things in the code of the 4.10 QMB and finally I think that I have corrected everything and this is the full version for the

 1- Mission Pro Combo 4.10m:

I strongly suggest you to remove my previous 4.10 versions of any MissionPro extension (QMBPro, MissionPro and FMBPro) and replace all of them by this single folder.

  What does it have:

MissionPro 4.10m reworked from the original classes. Now it orders the planes in the combobox for selection in the same way you have established for QMBPro (alphabetically or normal). It includes options for Single Missions, Campaigns and Net Missions.

QMBPro 4.10m a lot of different contents merged. Solved different problems present in the 4.10m code. It doesn't have problems when changing the map as TD version, the sort order for planes list is kept, and the main feature here is that YOU CAN USE ALL THE PREVIOUS QUICK MISSIONS! My Mod is fully compatible (in the first release I did of the QMBPro 4.10m still there was a little problem) with the old 8 flights QMB missions of 4.09m and previous versions while still being able to read flawlessly the 4.10m new 16 flights missions.
I have included the folder Missions\Quick with all the previous QMB missions that were around in the forum arranged in individual folders as now are required to operate with 4.10m. In the case they were old missions with only 8 flights, you will see the next 8 as empty ones.

FMBPro with mousewheel zoom and functions to allow QMBPro and MissionPro to open the missions you are seeing from there.

Download Mission Pro Combo adapted for 4.10 from here (https://storebror.it.cx/sas/archive/sas2/benitomuso/410MODS/00_PAL-MissionProCombo410.rar)

2- PAL HUD Config with BombSight Assist:

Download PAL HUD Config with BombSight Assist adapted for 4.10 from here (https://storebror.it.cx/sas/archive/sas2/benitomuso/410MODS/00_PAL-HUDConfig.rar)

Same version, same options but working on 4.10

  3- 6DOF with headshake effect:

Download PAL 6DOF with headshake effect (Normal Mouse) adapted for 4.10 from here (https://storebror.it.cx/sas/archive/sas2/benitomuso/410MODS/00_PAL6DOFNormalMouse.rar)

Both versions of this MOD working on 4.10

  4- PAL MiniMap V2.3:

Download PAL MiniMapV2.3 adapted for 4.10 from here (https://storebror.it.cx/sas/archive/sas2/benitomuso/410MODS/00_PALMiniMapV2.3.rar)

MiniMap with extra features (relative map, radars, mission brief, etc) intensively reworked to be compatible with 4.10

5- PAL SmokeTrail and Tracers V1.1:

Download PAL SmokeTrail and Tracers adapted for 4.10 from here (https://storebror.it.cx/sas/archive/sas2/benitomuso/410MODS/00_PALSmokeTrails.rar)

The traditional smoketrails softener MOD with the smaller and more natural tracers, now working with 4.10

6- BONUS Freddy's Mod Oxygen Mask in Standalone 4.10 version.

Download Freddy's Oxygen Mask MOD adapted for 4.10 from here (https://storebror.it.cx/sas/archive/sas2/benitomuso/410MODS/Mod_OxygenMask.rar)

I enjoy very much this invention of Freddy and I was tempted to adapt it to work

I had never seen the mini map mod before - wow! VERY nice! Its amazing the stuff you guys are doing! One quick question - I'm on a 27" screen at 2560x1440, and can't read the "brief" screen with my old eyes.. is there a way to upsize the font?

Thanks!

hi Pablo, you did a very good job indeed!
trying to import some mods in 410 I founf out that when using CirX POV Complete (which works) together with you PAL_Tracers the trail smoke effect disappears (from the airc which benefits of this CirX mod, the stock ones work normally): wonder why....

Hi Pablo, thanks for all your hard work on these mods.
I installed the Mini Map 2.3 in my 4.10 installation and it seems to work well except that the airplane icons in the standard view seem to be quite large so that they are often piled up on top of each other when planes are close regardless of the zoom level used.
This isn't the same as the 4.09 version that I have grown to love.
Was this changed deliberately or did I install it wrong?
I am using a clean 4.10 install. Only other mod in the mods folder is your Mission Pro Combo for 4.10.

Thanks for any help you might be able to offer.

Pablo, thanks much.
Having an issue with the Hud Config though.  It won't show True Airspeed.
I've check the Conf.ini file and all lines are in place.

Mod is installed in the MODS folder of 4.10.
Bombsite data is working perfect, just no TAS.

Thanks people for the greetings.

I'm in Thailand right now, in a beach not so magic as the one of Roger Dean but quite interesting.

I'm not a beach fan and basically I'm here for a week just because I'm doing a diving course. Later my travel will continue to the rest of South East Asia, China, Nepal, India, etc. The landscapes and the style of tourism you perform in these other spots is not so romantic.

Have all a good year 2011!

Is anybody able to configure the game in a way, that there is the TAS indicated in speedbar using the above quoted mod?
In my opinion, there is the Hotkeys mod necessary for that, but the Hotkes mod doesn't work with 4.10...

Jollyroger and All,

first: no, I'min Koh Tao, the northern island in the Gulf of Thailand.

Regarding the HUDConfig: no, the Hotkeys MOD is not necessary to show TAS in my HUDConfig. It is only related to one setting that is read from the Conf.ini and that's all. Perhaps it is not reading that as expected, and there is some error.

IF YOU WANT TO SOLVE IT:

-I don't have here the tools to program in Java, I only have a small computer.
-If someone can resolve the classes of the HUDConfig MOD (there are 4 files I think) and later decompile it and send me the .java source, I can perfectly take a look to it, correct the issue in a text editor and later send it back to you to recompile / re-hash the MOD and you will be able to use the MOD before I get back home.

Send me the sources to info@pablolucioni.com.ar

  Regards,
                     Pablo

Kiwi,
is the same. The decompilers save the files as .jad no to overwrite eventual .java's you could have with the same name. But there's no difference, the .jad are OK for me.

Have you made the "decompile whole directory" process. Because I need main class with its sub-classes (in easy terms a single file with the contents of the main plus the 3 subclasses files).

  Thank you,
                     Pablo

Hello Pablo,
I applied the following mods and put them in my mods folder, but not in a 4.10m but a SAS modact 2.72 for 4.101m version:

00_PALMiniMapV2.3
00_PAL6DOFNormalMouse
00_PALSmokeTrails
Mod_OxygenMask
00_PAL-MissionProCombo410

With the last one, I noticed the following bug:

The tab opens upward for the player bird and the maps.

Thanks for your work BTW. Sorry, I didn't read the entire thread.

Regards

Tom

Tom,
as Korrigan told you, in the original release for the 4.09 it is explained. But it's even more detailed in the readme of the MOD. I suggest you to read in depth that.

Your problem has been reported by many, and arises from the fact of having less than 1280x1024 screen resolution. This is a problem on how the IL-2 shows the comboboxes and the fact that we are using higher resolutions that the original maximum thought by the developers.

So I had to add those lines of configuration. Here is the original reference Korrigan said:

Thanks for your coments Dakpilot.

The problem you have is the result of the different screen resolutions and visual each installation of the IL-2 has. I suggest you to go to the thread of my original QMBPro where many have discussed and explained how to solve it.

In the ReadMe of the QMBPro you will find that are settings for each combobox. You have to go to the [Mods] section of your Conf.ini (and if you don't have a section like this you have to create it) and add a line like:

PALQMBLinesPl0=30

30 is the default value (the one which is causing you the troubles). There is no more straight way to solve it than testing different values until one of them doesn't produce anymore the effect. I suggest you to try with 24 instead of 30.

  Regards,
                     Pablo

Hi Pablo, I posted this question a while ago but I guess it was missed. Your mods are some of the best so when I heard you had made a version of the minimap for 4.10 I was very happy to hear it.
After installing it I noticed that the plane icons in the standard mode were much larger than they were in the 4.09 version making it hard to make out individual planes when they are in close quarters.
Is this the way they are supposed to be now or is there something wrong with my installation?
I would greatly appreciate it if you or anyone else viewing this thread could shed some light on this for me.

Thanks in advance.  Spinner (trying to attach a picture for example)

S!

People,

I'm back, and regarding this "trouble", I checked it up and the only problem is in the documentation. The original setting:

SpeedbarTAS=1

Of the old Firewall MOD, was supressed by me and I adopted just an easy single setting which is this one:

SpeedbarUnits=1  (SI, International System = default)
SpeedbarUnits=2  (GB, British Imperial)
SpeedbarUnits=3  (US, US Imperial)
SpeedbarUnits=4  (TAS SI, International System)
SpeedbarUnits=5  (TAS GB, British Imperial)
SpeedbarUnits=6  (TAS US, US Imperial)

So, just establishing a Units setting greater than 3 aill activate the True Air Speed mode.

I will ammend the documentation. Sorry for the wrong details.

                        Pablo

Gunny,
I have been back in Buenos Aires for a long time now.

Regarding your request. It is not a BIG effort. But there are many MODs to redo, not only that one. And the main factor whey I haven't started any work is that no general movement towards 4.11 was done. Me myself still fly 4.101 quite happily.

So for the while sorry but you have to wait.

Now that I'm on HSFX6 I realise how much I miss the ProCombo mod.
The thing I'm missing most is the ability to customise the Load Map menu in FMB.
I had a nice concise sub-menu divided into regions which made it so easy to find maps and importantly allowed the long listing to actually be seen on screen. I'm really going to miss that in HSFX6

Hello benitomuso, I downloaded your  super OxygenMask mod , but it does not work. I'm on DBW 1.7. It must be put in the mod folder?
When I used the sasmodact it worked perfectly but now I hear nothing.

Same here with the 6DOF mouse mod. This is one of the ultimate key features in a modded game to make the sim historical accurate. The 6DOF that comes with the stock 4.11 & HSFX is a better joke...

Benitomuso,

I follow your work on the HUD config closely, as I have been wanting a way to read the MPH in finer increments for quite some time now in Ultra Pack 3.0. As you know the "HUD config with bombsight assist for 4.10" locks up the game in 4.101m with UP 3.0 RC4 when you press the "S" key to check scores in multiplayer. It works great in single player.

Is there a possibility that you would fix this for us?

Can you help me please :) If you have time. Because your mod is an amazing immersion for the game.

Thank you again !

Sorry that I haven't seen this before. It is highly possible that the conflict was with the UV3. The way you can confirm that is disabling the UV3 and checking if the Cockpit MOD functions come to life.

If so using onw MOD will overwrite the function of the other and viceversa.

                       Pablo

Winston,
sorry but it is quite difficult to maintain support for all different variants of the game. I don't have time for that.

I only test MODs in stock versions of the game and in DBW which is the standard of this site.

  Regards,
                      Pablo

For those who want to use the expert mode HSFX6 after adding new aircraft I slightly modified the AutoDiffFM mod from Benitomuso.

Chris,
does it include encoding of the buttons in the format of HSFX6 Expert Mode? Does it decode in 3 formats now?

I was about to do that because several comments on the subject. Have you used my HSFX6 version or the 4.10 (DBW) as base?

Really great, this seems the first Auto Diff FM or Diff FM for HSFX 6.0.1 that works perfectly with expert buttons or normal buttons, I've put in the MODS folder and it works fine.
I also tried to edit as you, just to experiment a little, I had to change a few things, and I have also obtained a Auto Diff FM  as yours and benito. ;)

Ok I have no success with this in expert mode.
Added it and then tried to add the Hawk 3, no dice.

Hi Benitomuso,

Sorry for my lack of patience !
This is off course your HSFX6 version and i only did add the 0.01% to allow decoding of buttons in Expert mode.

And sorry again, i realise i have not posted in the good place  :(

Hi Benitomuso, I tried the OxygenMask mod without  the UV3 and it's the same. I hear nothing. I have the last DBW. So I don't know where it's the problem. Do you think we can found the problem in the logfile ?

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but I can't find a readme for this mod in the Modact download or the individual download in this thread. Anyone point me in the right direction?

Telmo,
sorry but I don't think that the log would give any clue of what is wrong. If you said that it worked for you in a "MODActivated" version, just placing the folder with the two hash files and the Samples and Presets inside the #DBW folder it should work. Except you had any other MOD that loaded before it.

You should trace what but for sure something (some MOD) is blocking the Cockpit MOD.

                         Pablo

Benson,
you mean about the Cockpit Sounds MOD (an evolution of the Oxygen Mask MOD)? There is no formal documentation. I think that there is a thread were it was discussed and I talked about its characteristics. Please search for it. And if you find it please paste here the link so it could be useful for others.

Benitomuso, it work !!!!!!!!!
I have follow your instructions and now it work perfectly. In my #DBW folder, the first model that starts is UV3 and his name is #_UV3. So I renamed your mod folder #_Mod_OxygenMask and now is the first mod launch.

Now my game is very realistic. Thank you again, have a nice day my friend.

benson,
no, there isn't any formal readme. Again, there is a thread with all developments steps (the Search field + button is a great solution for all these).

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,18353.0.html (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,18353.0.html)

Following the path RedSpade started with the TotalMODder (he is making the documentation for it), and soon we will release it, if someone is interested on documenting these MODs it will be very useful for others. Most of the information was already written by me, but it is disordered, it includes several steps of evolution of the MODs, etc. It is mainly a work for putting it together in a document and ordering it a little. Not the same with TotalMODder that many use esplanations were necessary to be writen from scratch.

                        Pablo

I have the Tracers mod working in HSFX but want in DBW.  Ive tried different ways, dropping it into #DBW folder, making a Mods folder etc but nothing changes even trying different parameters in Conf.ini

I must have missed something but I have searched for installation instructions and nothing.  Any help!!!!!  Sorted now.
