You seem to be able to read my mind. These last planes, D.510/570 and now this are the kind dear to my heart. Great choices.
With this plane I get a 'mission failed loading: null' error when trying to fly as pilot ... probably a simple fix to do, but as I'm an aircraft mod dummy, any idea what needs to be done?

Beautiful plane, thanks.
But same here: this plane works if used by AI, but instant "memory error" and crash to desktop during loading if used by player. Tested on clean 4.09 installation with UP 2.01 (and no other mods).

I get the same mission loading error as Agracier does ???
Usually all your planes have been NO Problem at this Thai end. :P ;) :D 8)
Your recent additions went in ever so sweetly :D ;) 8)
I checked all the weapon loads in game and even none came up with the same mission loading error
I'm sure it's just a tiny little hick up
Hope we'll have this little baby flying soon ;D :D ;) 8)

I'm having the same problem that the others are mentioning. I gives me a "Null Error" when I try to load it in the QMB as a flyable aircraft. When I try to get it to fly as an AI aircraft it shows it crashed and its a solid single funny color (blue I think, but I'm somewhat colorblind). So I suspected something might be wrong with the skin file. I went into files and noticed something strange. In the file called I-180/3do/plane/I-180(multi1)/summer there are only three files "skin1o.tga", "skin1p.tga", and "skin1q.tga". I looked at several other working planes and these files include a 4th file called "skin1o.tgb" and it's the largest of the 4 files.
Maybe there is a file that got left out that's causing the problem.
Thanks for all you've done, you have added a lot of useful aircraft to IL2 and I'm very appreciative of your efforts.

This new version does indeed cause no problems ... the I-180 flies in 4.10, and all seems well ... thanks for the corrections

I loaded your latest fix, which copied into the I-180 folder in my mod folder. I still can't get the I-180 to work for me.
When I make it a flyable plane in the QMB I get an error at 90% load. A copy of the screen is below:

Also when I make the I-180 and AI aircraft whatever plane I'm flying crashes immediately if a scramble (landing gear starts in the up position ... kind of difficult on the ground) and if it is an air start the engine is off and has to be restarted. When I look at the AI 1-180 I get it crashed looking like this:

I still wonder if this error has something to do with no "skin1o.tgb" file in the "summer" folder.
By the way I have loaded a lot of your planes (including the Bk-534-Sea, D510, D570, and your WWI planes) and they all work very good except this one. I've really enjoyed the D510!!

By the way the log files on my "good" loads include the errors for the P-38s and the "INTERNAL ERROR: Str2FloatClamp()...", but they seem to work just fine. I only get the failure when I load the I-180.

All I had to do to get the I-180 to work was download the small attachment skipper had to his post announcing the fix ... then overwrite the exisiting files from your first install or create a new directory of the same name with the new attached files ...

I started over with updating my 4.10 to 4.101 and installed the SAS_ModAct_v2.72 along with the Difffm_410 & 2 Ecran_Wide mod. Now the I-180 fly’s perfectly, so I must have had a conflicting mod in my 4.10 setup some where. If the I-180 acts up again after I install a mod I will let you know. This mod works just fine so far, but I haven’t tried to land it on a carrier yet.
I appreciate your efforts trying to help me get it to work earlier … thanks.
The profile of the I-180 seems to look like the I-185m-71, but the performance seems to be more like the I-185m-82A. I was hopeful that we would be getting some external loads on the better performing I-185m-71, but apparently this is an appearance change (to the I-185m-82A) and maybe the carrier landing capability. The other difference is in the armament which the default seems to be light machine guns (ShKAS?) only. Even the upgraded armament of 2xUBs & 3xShKAS is pretty weak, but better. I guess that’s supposed to represent the lighter armament of an earlier model of the I-180 series?
In summary it appears we have a carrier version of the I-185m-82A with weaker gun armament or did I miss something? Making this a carrier fighter does open new possibilities for some different (SNARK) missions and might prove useful in a fictional campaign I’m putting together.

The 2018/2019 version of the I-180 mod from Dimon is not compatible with the new version from the 101tfs modder (which has better/correct 3D).
I saved the I_180NEW class - it is in a separate folder. The class in this version relies on the new correct 3D from modder 101tfs.
Therefore, there is a choice: use the old version from Dimon or the new one from modder 101tfs.

There are 3 mods for I-180.
The first - from Lakota (Dmitry from the forum "Reserve Airfield") - he has 3D from I-185.
This year I made 3 new slots that exist in 2 versions: for patch 4.10/4.09 and for late patches 4.12+++.
The second is from Dimon 2018-19 - a 3D of which is almost authentic to the historic I-180, but this 3D has some meshing/mapping issues.
The third is from modder 101tfs, whose 3D is authentic to the historical prototype number 3, with the small exception of the center of the airframe in 3D-Max, the center of the airframe does not coincide with the center of mass by approximately 50-70 centimeters.
All 3 types of mods I-180 pysaf fmd and emd.
Also, in 2019, he adjusted the slots for the 2 variant from Dimon.
The second and third versions of I-180 mods are not compatible.
The same FM file has different content.
If you need to install the I-180 mod from Dimon separately, then I will make a separate class for this mod.
But I can do it only after 7-8 hours.

Якщо потрібно окремо поставити мод І-180 від Дімона, то зроблю окремий класс для цього моду.

I am simple investigator looking for two planes. I do not speek Russian, so this was a challenge.
