I saw SAS~Rikens B-25A and thought it would make a great civilian plane if it was converted so I got a skin made by misha.misha and added the windows and door from one of Max_thehitman's C-47s and then SAS~Riken and I started collaborating on how to make this plane fun for you guys. We came up with a smuggler that looks like a innocent passenger plane but can drop contraband and men from the bomb bay.
The idea came to me as a great plane for the SNARKjungle map by Farrang65

I don't know if you knew it or not, but lots of B-25s were converted into civilian executive craft after the war. Civil conversions were also used for things like air tankers and aerial photography. This link should get the skinners started:

Love the people dropping idea great for the pirates who smuggle workers in to Ankoria evading the Pagodanese Army and Air Force to gain a better life. 8) :P
Also like Real Darko's idea about changing the gear some how to make it more 30ish.

About the quote I post here because I feel this is the correct place and also because I second this one too for 2 factors:
1) the gear in such aft wheel way is really complicated for a civilian plane when a tail wheel is a more simple and economical solution;
2) also a little wing position modification can be useful: moving farward (at the red propeller beware line) the wing we can got the correct gravity center for a tailwheeled plane and the passenger compartment 'll be unhampered from the wing spars giving also the correct internal space for the fwd windows.
I think that such modification can be quite easy and don't involve mapping trouble for the skins!
But don't take this as a critics of those wondefull planes , it's only a little suggestion!

@melissa, I honestly did not know that Aviaskins had made a civillian B-25 and has the same skin. Nor did SAS~Riken. I started thinking of this when SAS~Riken made his early B-25 planes here. I dont go to Aviaskins because I dont know how to speak or read russian. :( I hope no one there is offended.

The avia site near one of the top corners of the browsing page has a uk or russian flag, use that to change between russian & english modes, or get 'word translator' browser plugin/button; no need to think your being offensive, your being politely honest.

Here are four skins I "put together" I dont claim ANY credit for these. I just took three of misa.misa's beautifull skins and added the windows and door from Max_thehitman's C-47 skin. They are the real artists. These are ment to be for a diplomatic look. B-25's for generals to fly in. :)

A war surplus B-25 was used for years as a photo ship for making flying movies. It was used in the movie Battle of Britain to shoot the videos of the air fighting. It also was used frequently to shoot low altitude flying. It also was used for the original Cinerama flight through the Grand Canyon (I think that's true, I was only a kid then [late 1950s] and that's my memory of it) and I remember it giving a lot of people vertigo in the theater ... I loved it. I recall a picture of the plane and it had a glazed nose, which was different than the bomber version. It had special flat panels of glass for the camera to use.
I'll try to find a picture of the plane and post it if I find it ... that could be another version that might just require a new skin.
Also Jimmy Doolittle flew one as a personal transport after WWII when he worked for Shell Oil. I have no idea what that one looked like either ... more research and maybe another idea for a skin ...

As it says, the 70% crash is a bit tricky to work out, but I've fixed it a couple times on my game. Hopefully you'll be able to fly this aircraft after that.
I think you may have put the folders in the wrong order when you downloaded those mods.

@warwagon41 - 20% CTD
that means usually you are missing a weapons, or flyable cockpit mod, that the mod which is causing it needs. for example, if you have a new slot C-47, which requires the flyable C47 mod, and you dont have the flyable c47, you will ahave 20% crash.

Maybe is even possible to make a military version of this tail dragger configuration, as a "cheap" export version. I can see North American seeling mixed squadrons of attack and bomber B-25 with this config. After all a tail dragger is always cheaper than a plane with another (nose one) gear to retract.

Version 20 of mm of a down anywhere can't be loaded the Vulcan, it is experimental working out, now unfortunately yet it was not possible to solve a problem of visualization of rotation of the block of trunks. :(

This thing is incredibly fun !
Very nice touch that the special operatives can either bail out or deploy when your on the ground.
I put her down on a beach , opened the doors , hit the switch and off they ran.
I know it defeats the whole purpose of this plane , but I couldn't help but wonder if the nose guns and / or the side gun packs for a "D" model could be fitted to a separate version of this plane.
You know , say you just dropped off your contraband cargo and your rival cartel is moving in to intercept it , might need some firepower.
It doesn't seem completely unrealistic that a cartel boss , CIA , DEA , or just some plain old third world dictator couldn't field mount a couple guns that could be easily installed / removed.
No fancy gun sights needed , just walk the rounds in .
Just a thought .

Well ifollowed the average steps of putting it in mods and then copy paste in air.ini and plane ru and 60% crash. ps i have latest butons so then i pyt all the files off download in files folder in il2 folder put stuph in .ini .ru the game ran but no b-25 :(

I grew up less than three miles of this airport and the Tallmantz aviation story is well known to me. My grandfather knew both Paul and Frank. I can remember them from when I was a small boy back in the early sixties.

He is quite right I read an 5 side story about the filming of BOB and the tailgunner position had no cover at all, It was open and a big space was cut out of the fuselage

If the taildragger might be given gun packs, I think that they'd have to be positioned further back under the wings, so their weight wouldn't affect the CoG too much - especially when trying to brake - the main gears might be a bit too far back for taildragging - if the gear legs when lowered could be angled forward a touch more from verticle (ie; say +3º) might ease this

I'm going to rotate the main gear to swing forward instead of backwards. Like the C-47's gear. As for the weight, I'm going to add armor plates to the floor in the back half of the plane so it weighted more to the back Have to protect the passengers :D But if gun packs are given tho these planes, then they will be on the cheeks like the J models.

My rig broke, heavy abuse. Short times, only Age Of Empires I.
I was in serious need of my drugs for months, than finally she went on vacation, hehe. Had my fun with her Laptop and our
Flatscreen, damn those where times. But women get aware of such things, or our Foldersize suspiciously large too hide. So trouble was in. Uggh.
I can still use it for surfing and maintenance, nothing more, she sits right besides me and is only happy when I press Power off button.

We're having to transfer some weight to more towards the back of the aircraft so that those will sit on it's tail wheel. A few aromr plates in the back should do the trick

That float version looks pretty rad 8) I like it very much.
This will give me an excuse for skining this fine airplane, as I have never done skins for this one yet. All the cool
versions of it have already been painted in skins before.

I think it's pretty much finished.......except for the actual floating of the aircraft and the floats moved when I hit the gear button by accident. :D (my flaps and gear keys are right next to eachother ;))
I can easily fix both issues other than the FM to make it a sea plane and not a land based ;) Any takers on that?

Fixed the floats on not moving.
gear doors installed and not moving when gear button accidentally pushed.
Working on gettting an FM made up for a seaplane instead of a land based plane.

I found some Jpanese skins for the B-25 and reworked them to fit the these and with the old Paratroopers mod I can drop Japanese spiecial forces behind enemy lines. :)

Tested in my 412.1+5.2 installation with almost full success!
All planes are working flawless and behaviour is in line with my old 409 flight with them.
Only glith is the missing none loadout the can cause some issue if the plane is employed in DCG/DGEN campaigns....
