I have this nice 60% CTD now.  :D
I dropped the R-5 folder in my MODS folder, added the necessary lines but I think it has to do with the last lines in the Readme:

R-5
R-5_skis

Where do I have to put these R-5/ R-5_skis lines?

I think that those are the names of skin folders. Create two folders name them as R-5 and R-5_skis: put them into the Pantschemes/Skins folder.

I tried out what you said but to no avail. Still the 60% CTD.
Decided to remove the R-5 folder and deleted the lines in the air.ini etc. Now everything is back to normal...
No R-5 for me then.

EDIT: I downloaded the latest button and reinstalled the R-5. Now everything is fine.  8)
This plane is a nice addition to SCW scenario's, Khalkin Gol and will also fit in my upcoming Manchuria repaint.

I remember that it is strongly recommended to use the "Buttons 8.0" minimum! ;)
For the cockpit... to see! :)
I'll try to make the Re-2002 then... And then I would see for the cockpits! For we must also think of the Do-217 cockpit ;)!

For R-5, I tested with a cockpit U-2, Letov, I-15M and I-153 ... none satisfy me!
It would change the 3D ... and I do not know!
For the Re-2002, I found a cockpit.

I hope I understand your request!

The two Polikarpov R-5 (with and without skis) are included in the original 4.101 !
What I did is the opposite. I took the R-5 of 4.10 to be added to the 4.09!

It's the only reason I made the various "tinkering" on the planes from the 410!
Make them usable by owners of the 409!  ;)
This is also why I put the icon "409"!

Now that we have flyable Fulmar, Re.2002 and all G.55 variants available at SAS, and Swordfish, Cant Z.1007 and Dorniers are also flyable in HSFX5, R-5 is actually the only new v4.101m plane that is not yet flyable. We even had every v4.09m plane flyable before (excluding tankers), so R-5 is the only plane in IL-2 that is not flyable in some IL-2 version.

So lets make the last plane flyable before v4.11m appears with some new AI planes.

Hi, I am confused.So we put the 4.10 AI from pg 1 into 4.09 and then the 4.09 pit fix in as well? I only want to put it in 4.09 SAS install for now. i have latest button. Just confirm this is how you do it. thx.

I noted the Do-217 mod on first post,& downloaded same in hopes I could get it into my 4.o9 UP install...but no directions were included & readme directed me back to SAS Forums for instll instructions-did a search for Do-217K-1 ,but no luck I'm afraid...Could someone help - I'd really like to have this bird while waiting for the 4.10.1  Up 2.2 ( or 3?) patch coming up soon...Thanks! ;)

Thanks for the heads up - I had double clicked right by the install & readme! Can't wait to give it a try! Thanks!Works like a charm- dare I ask if there is any chance of making it flyable as in HSFX5.0?Just wondering...Thanks! ;)

So, this aircraft uses pure I-16Type5 cockpit model without any changes? Phew, very nice then:

I've been trying to get the R-5 to work in my v409m modded to UP 2.01. All is in place. the file folder in the Mods folder, the air.ini, plane_ru, and weapons_ru all show correctly. However, the R-5 doesn't show up in QMB list, nor can I open the Against the Wall 2 campaign. Is the UP 2.01 mod the problem? Any ideas?

Jlan, just guessing but do you have updated Buttons? 
First page says, "We must have the buttons (4.09) SAS or C6 8.0!"

The buttons SAS and C6 in 4.09 are higher than 8.0 !
So this sentence does not use any more!
But note that this aircraft uses the buttons and not the Diff_FM!

 First I changed from button 9.4.7 to the latest 409 button. There was no change, so I changed buttons back. Then I disabled the DiffFM folder and was rewarded with a CTD.
There's something I'm overlooking, but I don't know. Any more ideas?

Problem Solved (almost)!
I reviewed the 60% CDT instructions and realized I was using the package folder of the R-5 cockpit. I had to go down a level and replace "R-5_R-5skis..." folder with the" _06_R-5_R-5skis_410" folder within the former. It still wouldn't work, so I thought I'd add another 0 so that I would be above the AI folder-and it worked!!
But, remember that the reason I was trying to install the R-5s was so I could play the Against the Wall 2 campaign. No luck there. The mission failed to load because "Regiment 687LBAP not found." Any ideas for a solution, or am I now in the wrong place?

687 is an added squadron that probably came with Forgotten Countries mOD.
You could get that mod...
or, load each mission into the Full Mission Builder and change the squadron's name from 687 to something else like default Russian squadron.

I have a few questions. What is the proper time period for this aircraft? Was it used against Japan early on? How about the Finn Winter war or later in the actual WWII conflict? Where do I fly this and be historical?

Downloaded cockpit v1.2 for 4.09 but I've got only the AI planes :(
Is there something else I should do in order to fly this plane?

Problem was those dawned duplicate folders. I wonder what is the reason for identical folders one inside the other... ::)
