New vehicles !                                                 Package 1 - 2 - 3


Each new vehicle is composed of a tractor (truck, bus, horse, ...), a trailer and possibly a load.
Each vehicles are available in stationary and rolling !

at this point, i think we should just mention that these are the result of our expanding on a mod we kindly received from online squad JFC, so they (not sure exactly which guys) deserve a special nod for the original idea, and also big thanks to them for sharing it with us here at SAS.

So... installed everything as requested : crash of the game at 85 %... anybody else has same problem ?

Anyway... I hope this mod will be included in the next DBW and UP versions (DBW 1.7 and UP3RC5) !!!

what kind of crash, Gaston?
if it's a memory crash, you might well have reached your limit for extra classfiles.
this issue will hopefully be addressed to some degree, with DBW 1.7 and the next executable selector.

This is what I think, Malone... toomany of these classfiles in ma game ! I tried it in UP3, which I have also modded with other planes, maps, etc... but does not load.

So I will wait ! Hopefully, this interesting mod will be included in DBW 1.7...

By the way... this new selector... will it run on Win XP ? or will it need Win 7 ?

@Epervier: I really like this kind of details to the game.  8)
It opens a whole new perspective to other combinations like sheep in the back of a truck or some cows in the back of an open truck.
Or a row of people with horses carrying carts with all kind of stuff on it together with a few trucks etc to represent citizens escaping a city? This is not a request or anything, just a suggestion...

It's an idea!
But it would change the skins of certain trucks, to make them more civil!
Change the 3D of a cart to put table and chairs, wardrobe, mattress, grandmother ...
And I can not do that!

A package 4 (horse artillery!) is in the works! A fifth in the making!

Package 3 looks great. Horse-drawn vehicles are a much needed addition to the game.

But, one tiny criticism. The driver of the field kitchen should have something approaching a standard Wehrmacht uniform; the brown cap has got to go!

Since you're said that you're going to produce horse-drawn artillery, there are good pictures of horse-drawn WW2 artillery limbers (avant-train) and caissons here:

You might be able to get a good-looking artillery limber by taking the front part of the field kitchen and attaching it to a light- to medium howitzer. A light artillery gun would have a 2-4 horse team, while a medium gun might have a 6-8 horse team. Bigger guns would have bigger teams of horses, but more often they were pulled by artillery tractors or trucks if at all possible. Often there would be a passenger/co-driver next to the driver.

Finally, if you were inclined to do a Japanese or Soviet limber and gun, it would be a simple matter to retexture the stock German field kitchen limber in olive drab and change the driver's uniform.

guys, before we get carried away here, all these ideas are great, but please remember we are very limited with the 3d objects we have ingame.
i am trying to help Epervier by looking for other combinations, but it'd be really cool if someone who can do 3d work, can do a few more objects for us.
a perfect opportunity for any up-and-coming modder to help out, and get some practise before doing something as ambitious as a new plane.
anyways, for now, we will do what we can - we are well aware of the possible combinations, so please don't flood this thread with all your ideas just yet.
we will do what we can with what is currently available, but having a volunteer to help with some 3d objects, would be really welcomed at this point.
that aside, i'd like to see a float-parade with a whole bunch of bikini-clad supermodels on it! :D

Absolutely great work mate, have not had time to try them yet but they look superb.

I noticed that you have towable AA guns, are their any plans to do vehicle drawn artillery? Such as anti-tank guns and 150mm howitzer.

Do not forget:
- I do not work on the skins and I can not create 3D objects.
- I use the standard objects of the game by removing the superfluous but some items require more changes.
- It is obvious that ALL guns (AA or not) will not be added to this Mod.

To my limited knowledge of 3dsMax, AA guns were easier to add. The heavy guns require major changes ... but the option to add is not excluded.
The front of the mobile kitchen is already modified for use as housing for the horse artillery. Only two, maybe three guns will be hypomobile.

The skin looks very nice, but the chain is too shiny. Chrome was a scarce metal for both Axis and Allies during WW2, they wouldn't have wasted it on cosmetic uses like plating.

Or, you can use the Ammo Boxcar. I use these placed less than 25m apart to set off a chain reaction as though a tank farm has gone up.

and the shooter must have suffered too. loosing a teammate like that... :(

very informative footage though. these men, wether blue or red, were courageous. some proper balls of steel pictures.
except where the guy kept shooting at the out-of-control 109. i thought that was... disturbing.
but such were the days.

I just installed packages 1-5 and all working good in Modact3.6

I did not test all object but one of the vehicles, Japanese truck with howitzer, was moving but submerged under ground with only top of vehicle showing.

Do you know... in Japan A6M were carried from Mitsubishi/Nakajima factories to navy airbases by bull-pulling very slowly wagons?

WWII time roads in Japan were not paved and stony, speedy tracks were badly shaken and made airplanes broken.

I haven't been able to install Build 1.71 successfully yet but can state categorically that they are NOT included in that build. Install them as per usual with their own folder(s) within the #DBW folder and the text inserts for chief.ini, stationary.ini, technics.ini and, technics_ru.properties.

If you think this object is required to play a campaign or mission, I can advise you:
- Keep all lines in the files chief - stationary - etc...
- Delete the contents of \3do\Cars\Chariot03\
- Copy the contents of the folder \3do\Cars\Chariot02\ or \3do\Cars\Chariot\
- Paste the contents into the folder \3do\Cars\Chariot03\

The object will exist, but another form!

Yes i all is clear, i have another problem now i have add your beautifull pachege 4b and add chief, stationary technic
and so on but the game 4.10 + SAS Modact 3.06 CTD at 70%, then i have retourn at the previous setting and remake the operation but the error remain, have you any ideas, this mod id really usefull with a lot of possibilities and good vehicles.

I ran into the option of a mod that adds objects to my install and i just froze up. this is the scariest part of modding for me. And I'm pretty clueless on understanding the log.lst , logkeep yada yada. I haven't got there yet with that understanding. When i add stuff to stationary or chief, i basically evenly space the lines according to how i think they should be by carefully following what is already in the files. Then there are times that i try and add stuff and it will throw one section off like 10 spaces leaving me dumbfounded. The other question is, can we just throw these sections anywhere in there? Does USSR have to be with other like items? But then again, I'm sure it doesn't have to be "that" difficult. I guess I'll quote myself because i was hoping for an answer on this lol. I'm still largely confused to adding stuff to chief, stationary, etc. it's the easiest way to crash a game so i usually dont mess with it but hey, if someone creates a mod pack, i wont complain. i think wind started it but i dont know if he has anything new brewing.

Thank you for the tip Mick, I will paint some new wheel rims for that gun on wheels. It does look a bit strange with
the current version and is not looking historical. It´s not my fault, I did not do them.
New wheel rims are needed and will be on it very soon.
I just wished I had more time in my day to retexture these things faster.

But why have I taken Maultier?
Because :
- The Sdkfz 7 does not exist in the game
- The trailer for this gun does not exist in the game

So I made a vehicle "that may have existed" but which can not pretend a model that really exist.  8)

Dear Epervier, certainly Sd.Ktz.7 not exist in the game but both Sd.Ktz 6 and the Sd.Ktz.10 certainly exist .. and they are both in static version that veichles version .. the first tractor seems perfect as it  ! Or maybe there is some insurmountable technical difficulty to attack them to the AA  88mm gun ?

... well in fact production of the SdKfz 6 was terminated in 42, because it was regarded as too expensive, and the cheaper to produce SdKfz 11 took over ...  ;)

I doubt it was called "expensive". From what I read in history books, the third reich had loads of extra money to spend on such things with no problems.
The money was probably going to crazy weird projects, like the "Maus" , for example  :D

There are some strange looking half-tracks in that website which I posted in my last post.
Some had cannon turrets like a tank. Interesting concept.

Anyway, I have now finished doing all the needed file fixes and Epervier has added some very nice shadows to all Maultier models,
once I finish giving these Maultier half-tracks some proper skins, I will be moving on to other much needed fixing of other vehicles.
I will soon be fixing up these "Zugkraftwagen" series we now have and giving each one some much needed upgrades for us to enjoy them
in our maps.
All missions and campaigns for the IL2-1946 which use these new vehicles are now looking so much better!

... well may be the word "expensive" meant: very time consuming to produce, and also too many complicated parts ...  ;)

The Wehrmacht badly needed those half tracks, to the point that many of them were used to tow much heavier loads than they were supposed to ...

Hi peeps - bit confused are these just repaints of stuff thats already in CUP? If so do we need to alter the .ini files?

I am not sure if the guys from CUP are upgrading their game version as these posts are being made.
Look at the screenshots from teh first post and then look at the vehicles you now have in your game.
Do they look the same?

You will notice there are some differences now with these new upgrades from Epervier.
