Title: Alterations to ag_Baleares map.
Post by: Mission_bug on June 24, 2012, 11:12:04 AM
Hello all, here is a link for a modified version of the ag_Baleares map, done with Agracier's permission.

New upload Version 2 without textures:

https://www.mediafire.com/?vh9ivg9jrg54tvm

New upload Version 2 with texture folder:

https://www.mediafire.com/?176v6ys6p6qwqag

Additional fix:

https://www.mediafire.com/?2el0e463442hn6z

Additional fix 2 for taxi and stay points + QuickQMBPro Red and Blue Scramble missions.

Note: The quicks in this folder were done in a older install so if used in CUP might not have all the original aircraft assigned due
to the modular nature of that set up

https://www.mediafire.com/?wjqdcys8fyezrh7

Red and Blue Seaplane take off for QMB, these were done in a 4.12 with SAS Modact 5.30 install
so could need renaming in other installs and some stationaries might not show:

https://www.mediafire.com/?g9j0f249n3b038x

Changes:

The seaplane take off and landing waypoints at Palma have been altered to bring them closer to the docks.

Seaplane landing and take off waypoints have been added to Ibiza, Polenca and Mahon.

Pollenca and Mahon have now been extensively populated by myself and David Prosser.

The airfield at Alcudia has been moved inland to a completely flat surface, previously it was at an odd angle, thanks to David for spotting that one.

Alcudia airfield was named twice, one has now been named Can Picafort as requested.

Pollenca has been named on the map.

Some rather large holes in the coastline have been eradicated.

Trees and objects removed from the coast.

Additional changes V2:

Work on Map_c to improve the look of the harbour at Mahon, unfortunately the water isn't wide enough for ships to use.

Seaplane landing and take off waypoints altered in the harbour at Mahon and Polenca.

Seaplane landing and take off waypoints at Valencia moved closer into the harbour area.

Raised land in the harbour at Valencia adjusted to better improve the look of the harbour.

Additional fix:

Removes buildings from the water near the airfield outside Valencia.

Also flattens the airfield near Valencia.

Additional fix 2:

While testing QuickQMBPro missions it was noticed that taxying aircraft were colliding with parked aircraft, two runways have been altered to correct this on Mallorca and Menorca.

A very special thank you to Agracier for allowing us to mess with his map.

Thank you very much to David Prosser for helping with the detailing.
(sorry I didn't include it all)

Also all those at SAS who helped with information and photographs.

New name for the all file:

ag_PS_DP_Baleares ag_PS_DP_Baleares/load.ini

Name changed as existing missions may not funtion correctly due to new taxi waypoints at Palma, also mission objects placed on the original map may overlap the new detailing.

However if your happy with that just change the map heading in your mission file to:

MAP ag_PS_DP_Baleares/load.ini

If you have an existing map folder outside of the sfs files you could just copy and paste the contents into that folder or alternately re-name mine to the original. :)

Please note:

 [WORLD POS]
CAMOUFLAGE=PACIFIC is set for DBW

A skinmod folder is provide with defaults for the aircraft featured in the test mission that is included, these are also set for pacific, if you add the map to any other mod pack you will have to change these settings accordingly.

Self stationary at Palma.

PaintSchemes folder included with skins for the test mission.

Mahon docks, really need to sort out that water problem.

Fictitious seaplane base near mahon.  Wasn't sure mahon could be used at first. ;)

Great, it is good to have such nice maps. However, we still lack one important thing: a good Cr.32.

No we don't!  ;)

Haven't you seen: the Aviaskins CR.32 is avaliable again!

Hi Mission_Bug:

My logfile shows this error:

INTERNAL ERROR: Can't open file 'MAPS/_Tex/ag/Baleares/Spain_1024_Ind_Green_15.tga'
INTERNAL ERROR: LoadTextureFromTga('MAPS/_Tex/ag/Baleares/Spain_1024_Ind_Green_15.tga')

World.land().LoadMap() error: java.lang.RuntimeException: Landscape 'ag_PS_DP_Baleares/load.ini' loading error
[25.06.2012 14:20:08]

This is a missing texture or object obviously. What other textures/objects might I be missing?

I'm using DBW Build 1.71. I renamed the all.ini as per the instructions. I placed the map folder in Mapmods in the DBW folder only.

Any help?

Bob

Hello Bob, the map uses the one Agracier posted here:

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,4955.0.html

The folder _tex goes into the folder maps, same place as the map.

Try using the texture folder from that download, it may help.  David Prosser is also experiencing similar problems to yours but I can't understand why as we all use DBW and mine works perfectly ok in my set up.

It may be that the one installed in DBW is an updated version of the map so different textures may be in use in that, however the map I used uses the load file from the above download link so should work with the textures in that download.

The map I uploaded is already set up for you to just add the IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 folder into your game, as long as you are using DBW everything should be in the right place.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Mission_Bug:

That did the trick! Made a mail-run mission and it flew perfectly.

Perhaps, if it isn't too much trouble, you could include that _tex folder in your download to short-circuit any more problems like this? I wish I could remember if I used the all-in-one DBW 1.71 installation or did I use the individual ones 1.1 through 1.71. This might be where the issue lies.

Thanks again my friend; looking forward to flying on this map.

Hello Bob, glad you got it running ok. ;)

I've just realised that part of the problem was down to me, I thought I was running the map purely with the DBW texture set so figured there would be no problem for anyone else, however, I've just cheked in my maps folder and I actually had the ag_Baleares _tex folder in there.  Extremely sorry about that guys. :-[

I must have been having problems with textures from another Agracier map at some time and added that with some others.

I guess putting the _tex folder up with the map would have indeed saved folks a lot of grief.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

Hello all, in the first post there are now two download links for the altered map, the first is just the map itself, the second is the map and textures.

Hope this will cure any problems people have had. ;)

I've just flooded Mahon. :'(

It took many hours to sort out how to change the map_c because it's been that long since I did anything with water

but I can now open up Mahon to the ocean properly. ;)

Stay tuned.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

That will make it easier for floatplanes and ships to pass the entrance of the port. Now, where's Noah's ark?
Title: Re: Alterations to ag_Baleares map.
Post by: Mission_bug on June 29, 2012, 04:52:31 AM
Hello all, I've now uploaded version 2 of the altered map, see first post.

Old links removed.

Work on map_c has allowed the harbour to be better devoloped for seaplane operations with all take off and landing waypoints now within the dock area. ;)  All objects around the waters edge have needed to be re-positioned so check any missions you may have created.

Unfortunately the water isn't wide or deep enough to operate ships from, to have made that possible it would have been necessary to widen the water way to a width that may have made the bay look entirely out of proportion.  The changes do improve the look though.

The seaplane take off and landing waypoints at Valencia have now been brought closer to the harbour and some raised land along the harbour has been adjusted to improve the appearence.

A final file has been added to the first post called additional fix.

This removes these buildings from the sea at the airfield near Valencia.

I've also levelled the airfield nearby due to difficulties with the Letov S-231 tipping when set to AI, this may be due to the C of G being altered but the undulating airfield can't have helped. ;)

Great work, thank you for the update. Manises (Valencia) airport is a good departure point for bombing missions over Balearic Islands and the blockade nationalist ships, historically It was so for SB-2 and the Vultee group, in which also the Northrop gamma participated.  :)

Hello all, in the first post is an additional fix for two runways, one on Menorca the other on Malorca.

While testing two scramble missions for QuickQMBPro it was noticed incoming aircraft were colliding with parked ones, the taxi and stay points have been altered to correct this. ;)

Included in the download with the fix is a Red and a Blue scramble mission for the map, just paste the IL-2 Sturmovik folder into your DBW install and everything should be put in place.

Two quick files are included so you can just load the aircraft for the two test missions in your QMB, hopefully they will load ok. :)

Yes, it's something highly needed. Republican aircraft only sported roundels in the first months of war and always had the republican flag on their fins, while Nationalists always had Saint Andrews cross on fins, from the very beginning, a few days after war outbreak.
BTW, those missions look interesting, thanks Pete.

Hi Pete

You've had a culture shock recently as I can see  ;D ;)

Before you were immersed in Vietnamese culture and food and now a big shock to

Spanish culture and delicious Spanish food.   :D

I hope the language isn't too much for you   ;D :D

Your doing an amazing alterations job  of this gorgeous map   ;D :)

Keep up the good work Pete.  :D

Hello guys, I have to agree with the comments on the decals, they are badly in need of a change, far to opaque for me as well as being incorrect.  When skinning I dont reduce the opacity but use the Hue and Saturation to alter hue/saturation and lightness, this stops the see through appearence but retains a nice colour.  Look forward to seeing them changed Crazyflak.

Hope the QuickQMBPro missions are to your liking juanmalapuente, much easier than making a campaign and you can control which aircraft you use and the conditions. ;)

Hello Kirby, yes just a slight change of culture, to think all this started with me skinning the CantZ-506 in Nationalist colours. ???  Once you start something it becomes difficult to put it down. ::)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

I hope you're not getting tired of skinning Spanish aircraft, Pete. Your work is really appreciated. Plus, Dreamk's batch of seaplanes is coming sooner or later, that means a lot of your favourite work.  ;)
I can imagine that Gio can also surprise us with some more new Italian beauties, let's say...a Savoia S-62, a Macchi M-41...who knows.  ;D

Hello juanmalapuente, get tired of skinning Spanish or any nationality of aircraft, never I hope. ;)  I love doing the seaplanes especially, not sure why though, so am eagerly anticipating what may come next.  8)

Just a pity the Westland Lysander, Avro Anson and He-115 didn't take part in the SCW then I could really live in hope of them appearing in IL-2 and of Dreamk or Gio building an aeroplane I really want to skin more than anything else. ;)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

this map is simply stunning, really great work!
i have a little issue, though - i can't locate this one object that keeps me from properly using the map.
static checker says this:

buildings.House$HangarKbely

anyone have an idea where i could find this object, please?
thanks in advance :D

Hello Eugene, glad you like this altered version. 8)

Unfortunately I do not know where that object is from in my static.ini it is under the title:

//===========================================================================
[***]
Title Industrial Hangers
//===========================================================================

[buildings.House$HangarKbely]
Title           HangarKbely
MeshLive        3do/Buildings/CSvsD1938/HangarKbely/live.sim
MeshDead        3do/Buildings/CSvsD1938/HangarKbely/dead.sim
Body            RockBig
Panzer          0.5

Unfortunately probably not much help as the static entries have most likely been altered in each mod pack but as a rule I would say
add the latest object packs that I think Kirby last put up links for and see if that helps. ;)

Hello guys, I realised the seaplane take off missions mentioned for QMB in the CUP map thread were not in the folder in the first page so they have now been
added as seperate download. ;)

The Seaplane take off for QMB were done in a 4.12 with SAS Modact 5.30 install so could need renaming in other installs and some stationaries might not show.

Also, if the quicks are used in CUP some aircraft that were originally assigned to the missions might not show up due to the modular nature of that install so when you load the quick you will need to reallocate some aircraft slots with aircraft of your choice and save it again.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

If that does not help then I am sorry but I cannot offer any further solutions. :(

Unfortunatelly, these entries did not help.

Both objects are available in the static.ini and can be put on the map. But the mission cannot be saved anyway. Checker shows the object missing. The same problem I have in ag_aragon map. Do not understand how to solve the issue. Why others having the same problem can save a mission, but I cannot
Title: Re: Alterations to ag_Baleares map.

Hello Marat, believe it or not I tried to save a mission in my 4.12 with SAS ModAct 5.30 and I have the same issue as you. o_O

I can add the object irrespective of which of those two entries I use.

The objects themselves are by Uufflakke, I think a re-paint of Cannon objects, and I have that pack as well as the objects packs from Boomer.

The map alterations I made were originally in my DBW install and in that missions do save, the QMB missions I made would have been done in DBW and do play in my 4.12 install even though the map will not save.

I would think that as long as you have the object in your install in the folder called up by the static all should be good, unless it can be blocked some way, however, as you and I can place the church on the map in FMB that cannot be the case surely.

This is a strange one and the particular object is/has been a problem on various maps.

Not sure really what I can suggest, maybe someone else has a idea. :-|

I did try adding the map again with the various fixes but no go.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D
