---->TESTED WITH DBW 1.71+ JETWAR1.2 + SAS Engine Mod v2.6RC<----
Since there's a constant request for the jet bombers in their own slot, I've decided to publish this WIP, where the bombers have their own slot, thanks to ANTO!!!

IMPORTANT
You must have the original Jetbomber installed to have these planes working!!! ---> https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,18548.0.html
A big thank you to Anto for giving us these slots!!! (He made ALL the 8 engines working, guys !!!)
-------
Known issues:
-B52 problems at take off. Temporary solution: Turn on all engines, ask permission to take off and then insert the autopilot: the AI can take off.
-B52 strange behaviour of plane after landing
please accept this as a WIP, and consider that with these slots you can have in the same install the Jetbomber+ the 2 SAC bombers.
NEW
new important improvement by Bison_M Thanks mate! :)
by Bison_M :
"All models B47 and B52 were armed with automatic tail turret (if I'm not mistaken), may be except for reconnaissance aircraft …
I present to you supplement - bombers armed AI tail turret gunner.
Unfortunately, there are bugs, and there is no high accuracy.

Unpack in the current folder and replace the folder SAC, made a backup.
Thanks also to the SY6 for his JetBomber!

This is very nice ... for which a big thank you.
As odd as it may sound, when there are planes that use other slots, I often tend to forget about them when setting up missions. An own slot is better for planes so they don't get overlooked ...
-
Big thanks to Anto, Ecto, and all else involved 8)
Cheers
Triad

superb!
much appreciated new slots - i'm sure the minor issues can be ironed out over time, but for now this is great, thanks! :D

here comes the arc light raids Thank You

Thank you very much for this great present!

Thank you.! :)

Thank You Ecto, This is a pleasant Surprise. :)

Hl, l am andrax from germany, and i thank for this big bombers. But i have a question: booth B-52 stand in qmb with 0 mph in air and the gear, the tailrudder, and the bombs doe not work. The B-47 is fine and works good. What is with the B-52? I have DBW 1.71 with the newest buttons( offline) installed. The old B-52 (in jetbomber folder) was working.
-
I have DBW 1.71 with the newest buttons( offline) installed
use the button version 10. The v 10.3 may have some issues with jetwar 1.2 (but usually with some sounds)
be sure to have jetwar 1.2 and SAS Engine mod v2.6: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,23327.0.html as reccomended
otherwise, could be a conflict
-
Thank you!!!
-
I installed the new buttons but i still has the problem ( DBW 1.71 )
and I have the nevest SAS engine mod too!
-
Thanks a bunch Ecto!
-
ALL RIGHT, Thank you all very much!!!!
-
I installed the new buttons but i still has the problem ( DBW 1.71 )
and I have the nevest SAS engine mod too!
sorry if someone has problems...I can only recommend to have the same specs of the system where they work: DBW 1.7.1 + Jetwar 1.2 + Sas Engine mod 2.6 (and buttons 10)
this is my system and they work...(I have no huge packs like full monty or others)
Patience, I'm sure that Anto, who's very busy with important mods, will find the way to sort it out in the future :)
-
.
Mad026 & andrax
can you send me via PM a list (or a screenshot) of ALL the mods in your DBW folder? (and in jgsme if you have activated mods through jgsme)
so I can watch for a (possible?) conflict
-
ok thanks for the help!
-
Now we'll have target for Fishbed >:D
THX Ecto

A wonderful collection! Thank Ecto. Maybe the tail turret arm them? But only the AI gunner. ;)

Courtesy Ektoflyer place an addition to this work.

Hi, (sorry for my bad english) I have "!SAS_Engine_Mod_4101m_v26" in DBW folder copied, and now the B-52 ( The new version with tail gunner) is flying. Thank you for this big bomber!!!
-
Now its working for me too thanks for it!!!
Maybe one day will you release the american flying wing? :D

Hi ectoflyer, i have a new problem. Bevore i put the "!SAS_Engine_Mod_4101m_v26" in the DBW folder, the B- 52 stand still in the air. Now the Big B fliyng super, but when any aircraft crash on the ground, the game go to desctop. Here is the logfile from the last error.(with or without record)

Hi andrax, your log looks truncated. I think if you put it as 'Code' IIRC, or put it somewhere as a text file uploaded somewhere. I know one of the other guys knows more definitely how to post log files, just trying to help there.
-
Hi Triad773 and ectoflyer, ok, next time i do it with log. My problem with "crash" by crash was definity selfmade. I have IL-2 1926/UP3/ DBW 171 complete new installed, then i copied the old dbw mod folders in the new installation, and now it's good. The B-52 flighing and any crash is without crash of the game.

Hi all!
With the permission of the author of the original mod.
Update on 16/04/2013.

The following changes to the B-52F and B-52D:
Resized. Model increased, but unfortunately not up to full size :(.
Fixed a problem when you start on the runway. Take off your own! :)

How to install:
Download the archive, unzip and copy the folder to your SAC, after making a backup.
Enjoy!

Thanks for your work on jetbombers bison ;)

lol, i've been struggling getting these to work in my Modact 4, (v4.11.1 game), when i realised they only seem to work on 4101( DBW) game - so, rather than post trying to resolve that issue, can i ask if there is any plans to get these working for newer game versions - 4.11.1 and onwards...?
if not, that's fine, but i am starting to miss them in my newer install which has all the jets working, but is sorely lacking in modern heavies.... :D

Specifically tested the B-52D in 4.11.1m + SASmodakt4 - on takeoff strongly overheated engines, fire is possible, but in general, the plane piloted well thanks Anto and Ektoflyer, well, do not forget the patch https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,33309.msg368286.html#msg368286 after which installation, B-52 not only resized :), but the front landing gear is not goes under the concrete, and the airplane is no longer leads to the right ...
Since Jetbomber already working in the 4.12 + SASmodakt5, over time, i hope these bombers will also good working at 4.12
Best Regards ;)

hmm....in my tests, i kept getting a 45% CTD on mission loading - at least, with both versions of the B-52.
would you mind if i posted the log errors here for you to check out?
i'll only do it tomorrow, getting ready for bed now. :D
-
Sure, :) but I want to remind about the settings,
1) F-84,
2) original jetbomber, and
3) the jetbomber in Own Slots
Best Regards ;D
-
I have the Jetbomber installed, but not the F-84 - i didn't see that mentioned as a requirement?
i will install it and test later today. which F-84 specifically, can you provide the correct link, please?
meanwhile, here is the part from my error log concerning this, it might confirm your suspicions:

okay, installed the F-84G and KB-29 mod, which i was missing, and my bombers are now all working great.
problem solved - thanks for the assists! :D
PS: not related to these bombers, but is it a known issue that the F-84G seems incapable of taking off without burning its engine, either as AI or manual piloting? :P

According to the F-84, yes indeed, there is a problem :(, solved only off "engine overheat".

Te early versions of the B-52 did had an remotely controlled tailgun from the ground, later versions did mounted an radarguided gun system.
good work on the Bombers mate :)
-
Got it working in 4.12 with the 4.12 engine mod, as well as Jetbomber and the F84G thundercat.
However, as far as I can tell, the B-52 uses the cockpit from the Jetbomber, which itself uses the cockpit from the F84G thundercat.
The F84G thundercat is a single-seat fighter cockpit, not very appropriate for a massive bomber like the B-52 that certainly had two seats at the least.
I've tried to copy over the C-47 cockpit, which is the cockpit I want, but there's no way to do so, as far as I can tell. If I try replacing the Thundercat's cockpit folder with the C-54's cockpit folder (from another mod), the cockpit just doesn't load.
Is there any easy way to get this plane to use the appropriate, two-seater bomber cockpit? And not some tight fighter cockpit?
Thanks,
-GTA
-
Sure you can use another cockpit in the B-52.
It does however not work with replacing some folder with another, but with modifying the B-52's Java class, respectively its cockpit class ..
if you can call this easy or not depends only on your Java skills ;)
-
If I asked you extremeeemely nicely, and even added a couple of "smiley" emotes, do you think you could possibly modify the jar files for me? :^)
I have no knowledge in java coding, and I would really appreciate it so much.
Actually, maybe you could tell me how to do it, so then I could do it myself with other cockpits with other aircraft.
You know, the old "teach a schmoe to fish, give a schmoe a fish".
I would be immensely appreciative if you could help me out on this. I've basically been waiting for a jet airliner for such a long time, and the only thing left now is the cockpit.
-
Well, the problem I see is that the Cockpit of the C-54 (which is the pit of the C-47 btw) is from a two engine AC built in the early 30's .. you simply can't compare that to the pit of an eight engine Jet Bomber from the late 40's. Imho the F84 pit is a far better approximation.
Sure, it is the pit of a single seated fighter, but at least it doesn't lack that many instruments and lights as the C-47 pit does ..
-
I see, however, I really want the C-47 cockpit on there. I'm playing it for the flight-sim civilian feeling, and less for the historical accuracy feeling. Therefore, anything that isn't a two-seater cockpit is a huge let-down for me. The C-47 cockpit is best because it's a civvie cockpit.
Do you think you could possibly help me? :)
