Title: Yokosuka type96 B4Y1 Jean [4.09] [4.10] [4.11] [4.12]
Post by: gio963tto on August 21, 2013, 09:18:35 AM
Some time ago I changed the Letov to get a B4Y1, now I've changed to a new 3d model and propose again, and updated with some of the problems solved.

The Yokosuka was the last bombing attack biplane  put into service by the Japanese Imperial Navy, and for me one of the most elegant and beautiful biplanes, was used as a bomber in the Sino-Japanese War and the first months of the war in the Pacific as a reconnaissance and trainer.

Need a Diff-FM mod

original slot and class Western0221 , optimization and revision CWatson.
new 3D rework Gio963tto.

For the cockpit haven't do a change for this reason I think the original developpers and Ranwers for the letov cockpit.

Archie,

I just downloaded the plane in Gio's link. I installed and checked all loadouts, those racks do not appear in any of them. To be sure I opened the classfile and checked, they are no racks in the loadout.

As GIO has mentioned the type of bombs in your screen shot are not carried in the current version.

Please confirm the older version is not installed. When installing new version, do not overwrite old one. Delete old version then install new version.

Thanks again,
                      CWatson

Much closer to the real thing, but, from cockpit view, it looks like a have a double top wing in my DBW 1.71.
(old aircraft, and old air.ini removed)
.
Old skins do not work at all.

I have some good and some bad news

The good one: The plane loads in 4.12 without problems

The bad one: I have the same 3d issue from inside the cockpit as MR_G mentioned above. The outside 3d´s are ok.

For the cockpit haven't do a change for this reason I think the original developpers and Ranwers for the letov cockpit.

For this reason you see the Letov wing and the upper B4Y1 wings , is possible erase the wing and the strut of Letov , but it is one thing to do knowing how to do it.

I'm glad we have this aircraft with a torpedo, now.

Little things, like the top wing and gunsight can be fixed later.

I dont think so. This is more than "little" bugs. These things should be fixed.

My 2 cents  ;)

If you find a skin you like you need to create a folder to put the skin in.
In your IL2 game go into the PaintSchemes/Skins folder and create a new folder called:

B4Y1-Jean

For the D1A the skin folder should be named:

D1A1-Susie

Drop your custom skins in you will be able to use it on the aircraft.

And...nav_landing light is not in a good position.

I've made some adjustments (please refer to the screenshot above). I recommend testing it out.

.... ::(

Sorry, I uploaded the wrong values because I was confused.... ::( ::(

Replaced with file upload. Overwrite by putting it in the plane folder.

... well, in fact it wasn't the PropRot, but another mesh dedicated to the prop hub ...  ;)

... the prop itself didn't have any shadow either ...  o_O

Just replace these two mesh files ...  ;)

... other parts of the plane don't have shadows, like rear wheel and struts for ex, or buggy shadow like the rudder ...  :-[

I'll fix that in the afternoon ...  ;)

Thanks to all for the fixes!

I apllied them in a new folder and noticed that composing all them the landing lights appear approximately in line with the gear wheels but floating between the wings....prop shadow , new shadows and navigation lights are all ok....

That's right. The landing light only adjusted its position a little. There wasn't a proper place to put it.

So, I set it to a position that doesn't interfere with the pilot's view at night.

I hope you understand. And you can use it after fixing it personally as much as you want.
