1e.) Modact 2/Ultrapack 2/HSFX 4 users (IL-2 4.09):
                                               Extract the contents of this mod to the "MODS" folder of your game.
                                               Additionally download and install the 4.09 addon pack for this mod.

ATTENTION: You need some kind of "DiffFM" mod installed in your game.
           Modact 5 and DBW ship with DiffFM included by default, others need to make sure to have it installed,
           otherwise your game will crash at 60%.

           Some links for DiffFM mods (not comprehensive):

2.) Open air.ini (in Modact 5 you find this file at "<Your Game Folder>\#SAS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\air.ini",
    for other game versions this may differ, e.g. "<Your Game Folder>\MODS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\air.ini").
    Add the following line:

He-177-A3         air.HE_177_A3 2                       NOINFO  g01   SUMMER

3.) Optional: If you'd like to have nicer propeller meshes for screenshots, remove the "-" sign from the name
    of the folder "-He 0177 Screenshot Props" of this mod so that it's name reads "He 0177 Screenshot Props".

4.) Scroll down for further optional .properties file modifications.

This mod provides to you the SAS Flyable Edition of the famous HSFX 7 Heinkel He 177 "Greif".
It features the models "A-3" and "A-5" of the "Greif" with a total of 79 ordnance options.
Care has been taken to keep most of the ordnance options historically accurate.
Some ordnance options are not correct though, they're in this pack for one of two reasons:
1.) They've been in the initial HSFX 7 release of the "Greif" and remain in this pack for backward compatibility
2.) They serve as a stand-in for a very similar historical ordnance option.

This mod fixes a lot of bugs which were part of the initial HSFX 7 "Greif" release, e.g. wrong bomb hooks,
missing outer flaps, flap movement didn't represent the fowler flaps properly, gunners could shoot their own
aircraft, gunner coverage area was wrong, wrong gun types on turrets, bomb bay door touched ventral gun,
ventral gunner didn't change position in his seat, "floating" parts after ground impact, left prop was
rotating right hand erratically, landing light positions were wrong and landing light was not operable,
gear doors remained open when gear was in "locked down" position etc...

This mod implements a new Flight Model with some parameters fine tuned in order to match closer historical
data e.g. for max. ceiling, max speed at altitude etc. and fixes further failures like wrong fuel mass,
missing fire extinguishers etc.

The whole Java code was rewritten and a couple of genuine features have been implemented, e.g. automatic
prop feather (a genuine feature of german late war coupled engines).
All gunner stations are manned and can be operated by AI or manually as you like.

For those who want to try the "Greiff" under conditions more like those in the field  ;) SAS~Poltava has put together a 6 mission mini-campaign:

You are a member of a special bombing Staffel in the Luftwaffe, sent to the Donbass region during the late summer of 1943, to test the new He-177 in field conditions. The frontlines and happenings on the ground are historical. The missions themselves try to reflect those that "Greiff" units flew a year later, during the Soviet summer offensive against Army Group Centre in 1944. You will see a number of different bombing missions. Note also that there is a simple random element in this campaign: on most missions there is 33% to 50% chance of running into Soviet fighters, on some you will encounter them, no matter what. The campaign has been done in and for the ModAct 5.30/4.12.2.

A last word regarding "licensing" of this mod:
Quite like most of my mod works, all what has been done here is released under the DWTFYWWI "license" (= "Do What The F*ck You Want With It").
Of course I cannot grant you a license for reutilizing things I haven't done, so this doesn't apply to e.g. the base game, the base He 177 3D model etc.
All the rest is free for you to do whatever you want with it. If you reuse some of my works, I'd be glad if you could give credit accordingly. If not, earth revolves on nevertheless.

I took the liberty of adding a "Mini Campaign" created by SAS~Poltava to the first post.
It has been created for IL-2 4.12.2m + Modact 5.3 and provides a nice set of missions for our virtual offline pilots taking a seat in one of our "Reichsfeuerzeug" Greifs.
All credits for the campaign go to SAS~Poltava.

Best regards - Mike

Very nice work, I only disagree on where it is placed. This is a 4 engined plane :) and should be listed under heavies :P
I am going to make me a clean 4.12.2 install and mod it just because of this plane

Hello SAS Storebror ,
Thank you very much for this great mod Heinkel He- 177 " Greif " .
But I want to tell you that the navigation lights on the tail of a problem. On one side of the rudder , the fire is white, that's OK. By cons on the other side (face) it appears green. A small correction would be appreciated!
Regarding the cockpit , the indicator instrument landing gear and flaps ( 126Lampen ou Zwölflampengeräte ) gives rise to inconsistencies . Indeed , if the three lights on the left side function properly , the three located on the right side remain off . Normally , these lamps show the position of each of the flaps for aircraft wings . Therefore, they should operate in the same manner as the left side .
As regards the three lamps in the center, they indicate the position of the main landing gear and tail wheel . Therefore, when the camera is on the ground, landing gear , the three green lights doiveent be lit. When the gear is retracted , the three green lights will turn off and the three red lights will illuminate.
Can you make corrections to these small problems?
With all my thanks.
Friendly .
DAN

I took the liberty of adding a "Mini Campaign" created by SAS~Poltava to the first post.
It has been created for IL-2 4.12.2m + Modact 5.3 and provides a nice set of missions for our virtual offline pilots taking a seat in one of our "Reichsfeuerzeug" Greifs.
All credits for the campaign go to SAS~Poltava.

Best regards - Mike

Hello Mike,
I understand that  for all of you it is not a problem installing new maps on IL46 but...I have not been able to understand how to find and mainly how to install new maps in the game for offline user , is there any idiot (me)-proof manual to help? I read here and there but still not able to have the bloody new maps
Thanks!

Hi

Thanks for the great work, but....I can see the plane but I can´t fly it, no cockpit.
This goes both with BDW 1.7 and  4.12.2+ 5.30+A1.
I think I have made all by the book, but this is the situation!!

Cheers

you should take this question over to the proper thread, "New Members Safety Area" - you will get help there, ok?  :)

Thanks, this time it's the right logfile and I can reproduce the very same error when I manually remove/rename the file "#DBW/He 177/3DO/Cockpit/He-177A-3/skin1o.tgb".
Please check the presence of that file. It's called "skin1o.tgb" (not "skin1o.tga", even though that doesn't matter much) and is present in the ""#DBW/He 177/3DO/Cockpit/He-177A-3/" folder. If not, please re-install the mod.

Best regards - Mike

works great in DBW/newTFM;
Barber, check if you have the correct entries in the air.ini and also the correct file structure in your HE-177 folder;
I had a 70% crash myself when trying to install;
redownloaded, unpacked, copied everything into place and then it worked...
should look something like AIR_He177_RC1/3do/plane (cockpit).....
maybe the cockpit is not in place correctly; also, if you had the old HE-177 mod from another modding site, make sure to delete it completely, and just to make sure, delete the entries in the ini files and the properties files as well before applying this mod;

Installed in my SAS ModAct3.6 (410.1), SaS ModAct4 (411) and SASModAct5.30(412.2), in all setups, no problems, only in 410.1, I don't get the bombing sight...

I've just re-checked in 4.10.1 + Modact 3 and DBW 1.71 and in both cases the bombsight appears after the usual waiting time.
Must be something special in your game installation cgagan, I'm sorry.

Hi
Thanks for the quick answer. The file was there allright but I re-installed the mod, no cockpit.
I also checked that not any old lines are present.
Thanks anyway, it´s good job you done with this plane.

Renaming the texture to skin1o.tga helps when there's just skin1o.tgb available and conf.ini settings (TexLarge=0) don't allow loading of .tgb textures. There should always be a .tga version of texture to avoid such bugs for users of TexLarge=0. However, I really recommend changing TexLarge=0 to TexLarge=1 in conf.ini to enable higher skin resolution for planes if your PC isn't too weak for that.

Anyway, renaming that .tgb texture to .tga texture or adding lower resolution .tga texture to this mod as a better fix for this bug would still be good for those using more than 10 years old hardware or unnecessarily low graphics settings.

Thanks for the heads up Birdman, I've been wondering where this glitch came from but forgot about the texture size option in conf.ini.
The final version will have a low-res texture for those low-res users then ;)

I have tried to install the 177 under 4.09m.
I had no problem installing it, no problem creating a little test mission.
But when trying to run the mission I get as far as into the cockpit of the 177. Immediately the above sign shows up. Pressing the OK sends me back to the desktop. It works fine with any other plane - just not the 177.

Does anyone know what causes this error?

Greetings!

Having a problem with the Donbass mini campaign.

I get an error message. I installed this in to a IL21946 4.12.2 SAS Modact 5.3 configuration as per the instructions. I can generate the campaign, but the left side of the briefing screen (where the map should be) is blank. The briefing details are in the right side of the screen and I can pick the load outs, etc...but when I click on "fly" I get the following message:

ERROR
Mission loading failed: Landscape 'Donbass/load ini' loading error

I'm guessing I'm missing the Donbass map, but shouldn't that be already included with the 4.12.2 and the SAS Modact 5.3? If not, where can I get the map and how to install it?

Regards.

Hi Scott
I had the same problem in understanding how to install maps, "SAS~Poltava" suggested me this link that I found useful:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=37295.0
After a couple of readings ( aging you know) at the end of the day I understood how to install a map in FMB, not in QMB that is another story still to understand (for me)

Just read the readme of the game!
There are long, long time, to the old days when Oleg broadcast new patches, he gave a readme file in English and French (and perhaps in other languages).
In the "Readme_404_to_407_xx.rtf" file found useful and necessary expliquations for many things: V1 - X-4 - SPB - etc ...

Unfortunately for you I kept only the French version ... but with the help of Google Translator you do not have a problem!

Quote
X-4 Rocket

Title: Re: He 177 SAS Flyable Edition RC 01

Extended Range means that the front two bomb bays are occupied by auxiliary fuel tanks of 790 litres each, this means you've got a total of additional 1580l fuel.
Long Range is the same but for the front four bomb bays, so you get additionally 3160l fuel in your belly.
Max Rang is all bomb bays occupied by auxiliary tanks, this gives you an additional 4740l fuel in total.

On the A-3 model you can dump the aux tanks once you opened your bomb bay doors.
On the A-5 model, since the bay doors are locked, there's no way to drop the aux tanks.

Best regards - Mike

Not sure about the reliability, but the flat dive thing is well accounted here:

"While Steinbock was unsuccessful, the He 177 did achieve some successes. They typically carried two 1,800 kg (3,970 lb) and two 1,000 kg (2,200 lb) bombs. Climbing to 7,000 m (22,965 ft) while still over German territory, the He 177s approached the target in a shallow dive, each aircraft throttled back, the pilot putting his aircraft into a gliding descent to take it across the bomb release-point at about 4,500 m (14,760 ft). After releasing the bombs the pilot re-opened the throttles, but continued the descent at approximately 200 m (656 ft) per minute. The bombers typically re-entered German airspace at an altitude of 750 m (2,460 ft), and headed back to base. By such means, the He 177s were able to keep up speeds of about 600 to 700 km/h (370 to 430 mph) during their withdrawal phase. The higher speed and constant change of altitude made interceptions difficult, increasing the survivability of the aircraft, but decreased accuracy. "

I noticed another issue : there can be a conflict with the Ju-188 .
It depends on the install .

But when I put them together in HSFX 7.01 , I get  a 70 % CTD ...

In HSFX 7.01 zooming in and out with the bombsight does not work and manual drop of f.g. 10 bombs is delayed thus dropping in a row is not working as desired.

When setting the course on the compass it is off by + 90°.

It should work right out of the box.
If it doesn't for you, please explain your issues and show us your log.lst contents please so we can see what went wrong, thank you very much.

In HSFX 7.01 zooming in and out with the bombsight does not work
Zooming is not supposed to work in bombsight mode, your FOV is locked intentionally in that case.

manual drop of f.g. 10 bombs is delayed thus dropping in a row is not working as desired.
Thanks for the report, I'll check the bombgun's delay properties and fix them where this is necessary.

When setting the course on the compass it is off by + 90°.
Thanks again for the report, SAS~Epervier already sent a fix for this issue to me but I didn't find time to put together an update yet.
Two weeks, be sure ;)

Zooming in bombsight works on all other planes with bombsight. If it is locked it should at least show the whole circle in widescreen mode. Now the upper and lower parts are cut off.

Thx for looking into the other issues.

Hey, hey, that's for sure!
I like the 12-Lampen indicator used to "identify". Otherwise, why would it serve? Can be decoration for the Christmas tree?
Thank you again for the mods.

Another update is available in the first post, we're now at version 1.01 (I promise no more updates for today).

Changes in this version v1.01:
- Torpedokommandogerät ToKG implemented:
  When Torpedo ordnance is selected, Lotfe bombsight device will be replaced by ToKG.
  Use bombsight keys to adjust ToKG params.
  Works for 4.10+ (sorry 4.09 Rebels, you'll see it but it has no real effect for you).
- Bombsight View Zoom Factor made adjustable for 4.12/Modact5/HSFX7
  (sorry 4.11 or older game version users, this feature has been implemented with 4.12)

Mike, can this upgrade be installed over the old one, without adding new text?

Oh sorry, forgot to mention:
Yes, this update is simple and straightforward.
Just drop it on top of the old one (confirm to overwrite files if being asked to), no need to remove anything or change any other files if you've had a previous version installed already.

Has anyone done any skins for this little beauty yet?.................. I thought I remember seeing different skins in the WIP thread, but have not seen anything new come down the line since she was released...........................

Mike you need to have a "DILLIGAFF" "Do I Look Like I Give A Flying Fuck" Avatar..with Jack on it.............  I have a rear window decal with that on my Bow Case.........Only USN people have a clue what it means.........................

Somebody asked whether a He-277 would now be a possibility. Would it? Would sure great to have.

And yeah, I fully agree, greed is awful.  :)

Anything is possible, it would first need a capable 3D modder willing to take that task.
However please understand that the 177 model we're using currently is still "WIP" and will undergo further modifications in IL-4.13, so it doesn't seem to make too much sense to waste large amounts of modding energy on a model which is scheduled for big changes in the near future.

Magnificent plane. Great work! Thanks for it.

I have some issues with the payload and launching it. (4.12.2 ModAct 5.3)
Though I saw on Youtube some tutorial movies from Team Daidalos how to launch a Fritz-X and Hs-293 missile using the increase/decrease sight Distance etc while they moved the bomb sight up and down to make the aiming easier, I cannot do this. Once a Fritz-X or Hs-293 is launched, the bomb sight becomes “immobile.”  After detonation of the weapon somewhere in the blur, the bomb sight becomes controllable again. How can I change this so I can control weapon and bomb sight together?
Another thing: though I have buttons assigned to Weapon Salvo Size and Select Missile/Rocket, I cannot launch one Fritz-X or Hs-293 if the plane carries three. They all drop at once. How to overcome this?

Thanks,

Jenato

Not at all at the moment. The bombsight stays non-moveable intentionally. The keys used to control your bombsight are the keys to control the bombs now. It doesn't make much sense to let them control both at once since you might want to side-step your bomb 20 times when you need to side-step the bombsight just let's say 2 times.
Actually controlling the bombs is only fun from outside (F2 or F7) view.

I have buttons assigned to Weapon Salvo Size and Select Missile/Rocket, I cannot launch one Fritz-X or Hs-293 if the plane carries three. They all drop at once. How to overcome this?
Sound like an Engine&Hotkeys mod issue.
The weapons themselves are set to launch one at a time only, even without the Engine&Hotkeys mod. Anything else just doesn't make sense.[/quote]

is ist compatible with hsfx 7.0.2?
Maybe, didn't check yet. It was compatible with 7.0.1 before.

where do i have to put in the He177 Folder which is in the zip Archive? to jsgmemods???
Hm... what does "readme" translate to in your language? "Lies mich"? How about doing that? The file is included in the download package, the contents are posted in the opening post of this thread.

Indeed Storebror. Disabling the SAS Engine Mod makes it possible to launch the missiles one by one. Is there a trick to work around the SAs Engine Mod so I can keep using it and be able to launch the Fritz-X separately?

Greetings,

Jenato

Thanks for the log entries rantanplan87, however they're just a small part of your log and above all they're truncated.
Please check both links from Epervier again.
You need the "Instant Log File Output" mod installed to avoid logfile truncation and we need the full log.lst contents.

This means that you're running HSFX 7.0.2 (thanks for confirmation via PM btw) but it also tells us that you've got another mod installed which was made for a way outdated IL-2 version, namely IL-2 4.09 (e.g. Ultrapack 2, HSFX 4 etc.) and which overwrites the class "FlightModelMain".
This conflicting mod is not this He-177 mod and as a matter of fact any aircraft will show the same behaviour in your game.
I can't tell you exactly which mod is it which you've installed there, the only two things I can tell you is that it must be a mod made for 4.09 base game versions and you might be able to spot it by searching for a file named "294ABC86A89FAEB4" within the subfolders of your HSFX 7.0.2 game's "MODS" folder.

Best regards - Mike

Mike, I just tested it HSFX 7.02, works flawlessy.
Have the file 294ABC86A89FAEB4 in He-177 now and in your DiffFM mod.
No problem.

Hi walter,

The missing mesh messages in your log file indicate that you don't have installed v1.01 of the 177 successfully since if you did succeed, the meshes would be there (it's in fact all ToKG meshes your game is complaining about).
The fact that you're looking forward through an empty window is exactly what I get when I use the stock 111 with Torps, that's why I implemented it for the 177 in the same way.
If results differ for you (i.e. you see something different when using torps on the 111 than on the 177), please show a screenshot so I can check what's missing here.

Best regards - Mike

I apologize to bump my request but did you think that the kommandogerat is an issue of my installation or there is another issue?

Anyway not a great deal on my side as I'll never use it as a torpedo bomber....

Hi walter,

I've put your report on the "have to recheck" list. There are currently so many things to be done... I'm afraid this one isn't the most important one.
However you could do me one favour: I understand that you're missing the Kommandogerät. That's what I'll check. But I don't understand what you expect when looking outside after F1 switch, since your screenshot of the empty window shows exactly what I'd expect it to look like, as this is quite similar to what it looks like when I do the same thing on e.g. He-111 H-6 or Ju-88 A-14 aircraft.
So if you could show me a screenshot of what these two (111 and 88) look like for you when you look outside after F1 switch (just in case it looks any different) this'd be pretty helpful for me to see what exactly we're talking about.

Best regards - Mike

Anyway in He-111 the looks is similar in direction but look like in a binocular shape....I'll check the Ju-88 too!

    Once a Fritz-X or Hs-293 is launched, the bomb sight becomes “immobile.”  After detonation of the weapon somewhere in the blur, the bomb sight becomes controllable again. How can I change this so I can control weapon and bomb sight together?

Not at all at the moment. The bombsight stays non-moveable intentionally. The keys used to control your bombsight are the keys to control the bombs now. It doesn't make much sense to let them control both at once since you might want to side-step your bomb 20 times when you need to side-step the bombsight just let's say 2 times.
Actually controlling the bombs is only fun from outside (F2 or F7) view.

Imho it is also fun to controll the bombs from the crew positions. The standard commands for the bomb controll are side slip +/- and bombsight altitude +/-, thus no need to disable the bombsight angle +/-. Please see how it is working with the Do 217 and He 111.

While it is still possible and more immersive to use the Henschel from the copilots window position with the target at 1 to 3 o' clock, the use of the Fritz X without moving the bombsight up and down is uneccesarily impaired.

My workaround for Fritz X so far is:

- dial in the required angle,
- as soon as the crosshairs are about to reach the target, tilt down the bombsight,
- release Fritz X and keep it in sight by adjusting plane speed.

What I miss here is the ability to move the bombsight up in order to quickly check the relation between Fritz X and the target.

It would be great if someone finds the time to fix this.

I have the same problem with the Torpedokommandogerät (beautifully long german word (Torpedokommandogerätbedienermützenständerherstellerehefraukittelschürzenfabrikantenvilla.)) not showing as Walter. I tried to open some of the .tga files f.g. z_angle et al., but irfan view refuses to open them complaining about a wrong file format or corrupted file. Redownloaded, but still got the same. Is there any way to get the Torpedogerät 3do stuff in a working condition?

what exactly do you mean by 'it won't work?' what happens?
we need specific details, otherwise we simply can't help you.
and some game info, as well, without which we can't help - what game version? what mods?
any answers you expect will only be as good as the info you provide, and you've provided none...

I am not sure where to post this request, so I will ask here in this section dealing with
this particular aircraft, because its about it.

What do I need to change in its files to only have one wing headlight?
What I mean is,
this airplane only had one headlight on its port side wing and not two lights as it is using now.

Even though I can erase the starboard headlight from its skin, when I turn the lights on at night
for landing (or taking off) both lights will turn on. This looks weird to me.
I would like to use only one light on this airplane port-side wing.
is this possible, or too complicated to mess around with its files?

IIRC....you can do it by editing the wings hooks....you must find the hook related to that light and after edit it....

should be simple as just deleting that hook info - you'll need to figure out which hook it is, though, obviously :D

Title: Re: He 177 SAS Flyable Edition v1.01
Post by: SAS~Storebror on July 24, 2014, 03:28:31 AM
This happens only when you have disabled "Limited Ammo" in your difficulty settings. Then again the gap is intentional and it depends on the bombs you've loaded. We didn't touch anything there, it's stock game values. For instance SC50 have a gap of 1/3sec., SC70 have 1/2sec., SC250 have 1sec., SC500 and larger have 4sec.
As soon as you enable "Limited Ammo" your bombs will drop at fast as you release them.

You are Rebel ?
So this is normal.
To manually open the doors in a version 409 must modify generic Class Game: AircraftHotKeys
I stopped updating because I realized to do many version of this mod based on existing mods in your game ...

Hi Mike!

In the reinstalling of my 409 I discover (don't know if useful or not) that about the not showing torpedogerat all the 5 chunk that the game don't find have their hsh file unreadable:

INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'TorpedoBoxNew'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'speedDial'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'angleDial'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'Ship'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'Z_Angle'

while all others msh are readable and starts with:

Code: [Select]
// ********************************************
// *  File contents cleaned using MeshParser  *
// *             www.sas1946.com              *

Could be a missing mat or texture file, frankly I've got no clue at the moment and the last time I've touched any 4.09 system is about a year ago already.
Maybe a 409 rebel could dig a tad deeper into this?

Best regards - Mike

The issue is in all my installation....from the rebuild 409 to the 412....I have check again this plane and find this thing only because in those days I'm becoming crazy rebuilding my 409 installations....all the 6 I had....and now I rise to 8 too....

:(

Anyway , as wrote times ago , not a great deal because I don't use this plane with torpedoes....

;)

INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'Z_Angle'
I do not understand your post ... but I guess your problem: ToG!

I do not know if there is a 409 version that has functional ToG!
But the ones I tested none has the functional Tog (alarms, frozen Viewfinder, etc ...)!
I personally use my thumbs to aim and drop the torpedoes! I never use the position of the bomber to drop torpedoes.

Info:
Initial code :
Code: [Select]
protected boolean doFocusEnter() {
if (!super.doFocusEnter())
return false;
if (doToKGCheck) {
doToKGCheck = false;
if ((aircraft() instanceof HE_177_A3)
&& ((HE_177_A3) aircraft()).hasToKG) {
hasToKG = true;
showToKG();
}
}

New code :
Code: [Select]

protected boolean doFocusEnter() {
if (super.doFocusEnter()) {
if (CommonUtils.is411orLater() && doToKGCheck) {
doToKGCheck = false;
if ((aircraft() instanceof HE_177_A3)
&& ((HE_177_A3) aircraft()).hasToKG) {
hasToKG = true;
showToKG();
}
}

private void showToKG() {
}

Try these Class which will remove the alarms but you will not have ToG viewfinder.

Hi Gabriel!

I test again the plane and I discover that the Ju-88 A-17 show the ToKG 3d but is only fictional....while the He-177 don't show the ToGK 3d but show the display message about my input of target ship speed and bearing....

....anyway when the parameters are set for high deflection shoot (+ or -90 degrees for a target route perpendicular to plane route and a target speed of 35 knt) the torpedo run straight instead to go left or right for the correct aim course....

....so in definitive the ToKG in 409 is purely fictional and this is not a complain is a consideration of what I find from my test BUT in the JU-88A17 the ToKG is shown while in the He-177 not....which in definitive is the bug I'm reporting about with those log lines:

Mission: Quick/vol_ItalyAfricaGreeceBlueScramble00.mis is Playing
CockpitHE_177 showToKG()
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'TorpedoBoxNew'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'speedDial'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'angleDial'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'Ship'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'Z_Angle'
warning: no files : music/takeoff
CockpitHE_177_Bombardier showToKG()
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'TorpedoBoxNew'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'speedDial'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'angleDial'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'Ship'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'Z_Angle'
CockpitHE_177_NGunner showToKG()
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'TorpedoBoxNew'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'speedDial'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'angleDial'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'Ship'
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Can't find chunk 'Z_Angle'
[29.05.2015 7:25:38] -------------- END log session -------------

I don't know what is a chunk so I thought that was a simple error in the mesh of those objects or in the hier of the plane....if you teach me what in IL-2 is a chunk I can understand better what happen....and remember how much I'm a donkey too!

:)

In the original code (CockpitHE_177_Bombardier) there is this:
Code: [Select]
private void showToKG() {
System.out.println("CockpitHE_177_Bombardier showToKG()");
super.mesh.chunkVisible("Lofte", false);
super.mesh.chunkVisible("TorpedoBoxNew", true);
super.mesh.chunkVisible("speedDial", true);
super.mesh.chunkVisible("angleDial", true);
super.mesh.chunkVisible("Ship", true);
super.mesh.chunkVisible("Z_Angle", true);
}

But the only mesh that exists in the folder (\3do\Cockpit\He-177A-3) is: Lofte.msh
The others do not exist! So the game generates these alarms!

Hi Epervier!

Happy that finally I linked you something useful!

;)

Anyway , about this plane , are you sure you have the last version?

In mine (I hope) there are all the game searched chunks (the angledial is present , only not shown in the image below)?

Ju-88A-17
by DT
- NO BOMBER (no cockpit-bombardier) !
- ONLY Torpedo plane !
- Fix spinners by PA_Jeronimo included !

I still do not understand what you want!
In the 409 you will not have a viewfinder ToG!
It is useless!

Solved !

Post by: Whiskey_Sierra_972 on May 29, 2015, 12:19:48 PM
Yes Gabriel we're speaking of the same plane!

The A-17 in cockpit view have (at bottom right of the floor) the ToGK while the He-177 don't have it (in the same area of the floor)....I'm NOT speaking about that it don't work because ToKG isn't reproduced functionally in 409 (I only report that the code for the change of the command screen information from bombsight to ToKG is working and show correctly the imput changes , anyway without any effect on the torpedo behaviour....so also this portion of the code could be if needed deleted) and I DON'T USE the plane as a torpedo bomber....so functionality is not what I'm speaking for!

What I mean is only to inform that (as reported some months ago in a previous post) in the He-177 the ToGK is ONLY not showing in the cockpit even if the related files are inside the cockpit folder....and the new discover is that looking at them I noticed that they are the only unopenable files with a notepad while the others are normally openable....thus suggesting that the motive of the not showing of the ToKG could be a corrupted or wrong msh file....

All original mesh files can not be read with the Notepad!
They are in "binary" format!

Those that are modified are in the "text" format and can be read with Notepad!

In both cases the only valid program is "MSHConverter EX" or "IL-2_Modder" !

Hello,

magnificent plane. Very impressing!
I have a question though. How can the wind noise be eliminated which appears - and doesn't go away - when changing to gunners positions and back to cockpit?

Best regards,

Hello to all,
Great planes but I have a problem running in versio 4.13, I am able to fly but got no "bombardier sight" it seems to me that there was previously, is this mod running fully in 4.13 with modact 6.1? Has anyone else tried it?

Great 8) thanks to all involved, a big lion-ey-bird to try out later in DBW 171 :D
..I wonder if there is a void skin or a template for this kite?; as the pics of it looks really well done, and I'd love to do some Nachtjabo skins for it

Edited on Wed 16/09/'15

After dl-ing twice (corrupted dl on the 1st), the Griffin flies, and she's sure agile and strong too for a large beast, almost fighter like in scale to the A/C size :)
After trying to light up the sky with that thunderous Daimler power, I haven't yet over heated in her yet - then again, I haven't much pushed the throttle past 90% for long in either the A3 or A5 loadouts.

I wonder if their might be enough rolling mass/momentum considering the Zwilling Motors are quite weighty..?
...It's seems quite easy/quick to stop the roll from one direction to the other -but that could be as much down to my perceptions and joystick settings.
Another thing I noticed, its not meant as a complaint, is both upper turret aimings seem to stick & snap to the limiting guide/track initially, and needs a bit of a mouse direction push away/up to 'free it' .

Just hoping that having it flying anyway in 4.13 (without bombsight) could have been possible to have "all the cake" somehow..maybe one day

yes, the He-177 is in BAT.
It is not exactly this version though, it is the plane as it was in 4.14, A-3 version.
In the next BAT update there will be lots of new loadouts added to it.

Thank you for this mod.
It makes appear He 177 in HSFX 7.03.
The plane is present in HSFX 7.03 default air.ini, but absent in QMB list!!!
The same with Ju 388K.
Works fine now. :)
