Hello! :) I am glad to present to the community my second, but big enough and always extending and refreshing project in the sphere of IL-2 mods -

I need to buy an old edition of "Theater of War". They have so many
good looking tanks ,vehicles , items we could use in the IL2 world. These two games
were really made for each other.
It also looks very good for an old game

Take a notice at the nice grass they have in that old game. It is very good.
IL2-1946 is from a diferent planet, no grass grows here. :D

what are the sci fi tank? He has 2 tiger tower above the motor, which Matilda has some weird the Big tower ... the rest is pretty well done but the two machines we come strange  :-X

Well, from the history, the Matilda Black Prince is the experiment with installing the Cromwell's turret to increase the attack power, from wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matilda_II):

About the VK 45.02 (P) Ausf. B. The documentary name of the Tiger II, which was serial, was VK 45.02 (H) (H - Henchel). The VK 45.02 (P) was his concurrent and was looking mostly alike. (P - Porsche). The VK 45.02 (P) Ausf. B (which I presented) - is just its variant, with rear-plased turret.

You must get a new computer Radge. Not too expensive, but a modest price computer
with a better graphic-card (I suggest... NVidia)

Along time ago I did an upgrade on my very old computer just so I could have better graphics to
fly in the IL2+mods skies  ;D   This game really has nice graphics when you use proper
computer.
Otherwise, you will not see what I am painting in your new tank skins  ;)

Oh, Max, that would be really cool, only if I had enough money... Even for a cheap computer... I don't have it at all ;D
I'm dreaming of not having a new one, but somewhen I would like to upgrade my dear friend with new CPU, RAM and graphic card...
Dreaming to have perfect-looking Il-2, but only if I had money...

Outsandig work, but I have a problem: when the tank shoots, the game crashes with a "IL-2 stopped working" error message. The problem happens on 4.12.2 + SAS ModAct 5.30 + Engine Mod 2.7. Any ideas?

By the way, shovels or some extra tracks will be hugely and, IMO, mostly appreciated!

Who cares....but red colour makes a good target for German 88. T34 was succes because of GREAT NUMBERS. It was not really a good tank. When the crew was not trained it was a nightmare in fire control. Visebilety was very bad, so Germans could take out hundreds of them....

Go to Overloon in the Netherlands and study it in a very good museum. But you also see how the war was won.....logistics and recover and repair facilities. Maintenance of engines and material is crucial. The Japs could not do it. The Germans were masters but had too little and too late...

Maybe it's not your favorite tank but it has 2 qualities that make the difference !
The frontal armor of the tank was not an heavy armor but his angle make it more efficient. It was not so easy to destroy a T 34 by a direct hit in his frontal armor.
Then the weight of the tank was not heavy. Some documents says it has the weight of a men/Cm3. During the winter, on the snow, it was a great advantage in comparaison to german tank.

The Radge, I need a little help here.
I am trying to install your new tanks (Radge_Armor_v3) but I am getting a game crash at 70%, but I do believe I have all the lines in the correct place.

I had your first 3 SPG and the IS-1 tank working ok before from last month post.

in your folder you have a few pages to add new lines...
- Add chief
- Add stationary
- Add technics (which I do believe is Technics.ini)
- a file with Russian letters _Technics (????) I never seen lines like this in my game files-- Where do I write this one? (Look below)

Try to delete all entries of technics that can be about my vehicles and put there only "v3 entry"

I meant not to delete the file, but the entries for those vehicles that are from my pack
and put there that entry that I gave in the v3 download ;)

I am trying to install your pack V3, but it is not explained well when there are 3 different technics files to
add new lines and there is only 2 technics files in the game to use.

you can only place 2 technic files in the game - Technics.ini and Technics.ru


I already wasted one and half hours on this and I could have been painting these tanks with new skins  :(

which I cannot find at this moment.
I have now deleted the tanks and only kept your first 4 tanks posted.
My game is working again. Which is good news.  ;D
If it does not work, I cannot paint skins.

Tomorrow I will try again with these new tanks of yours.
 If many people are using them, then I must also use them!

max, i believe the error may be due to a wrong instruction - i had the same 70% crash at some point.
i think one of the instructions is wrong, but i'll have to go and look through it again.
iirc, the chief.ini entry asks to place entries under [Vehicles] movetype VEHICLE, when it should in fact be under [Armor] movetype VEHICLE
other than this, it's possible you put the technics entries in the wrong place in the technics file, which is quite easy to do.
btw, all files i mention are ini files, i am not concerned with .properties file entries in the least.

It means that you didn't correctly install the 4.0 version :(
Because in v4.0 all things like this (also RadgeArmor2) are replaced with NewArmorPack.

I'm having the same problem Max is having - 70%CTD with the same log file output: PlMisChief: class 'com.maddox.il2.objects.vehicles.tanks.RadgeRus1Tank$T34_100' not found.

I'm running 4.12.2 SASModAct 5.30. I never had any of the other installs - I started with v4.0. I put the folder New_Armor_Pack_v4.0 in the #SAS folder and inserted all the text in the proper places.

edit: I commented out the T34_100 entries which were the first in line in the chief.ini file. When I ran the game again I got the 70% CTD and then the log shows this error:
PlMisChief: class 'com.maddox.il2.objects.vehicles.tanks.RadgeArmor2Tank$T34_100_LB1' not found.

The T34_100_LB1 is now the first in line in  the chief.ini file.

I think I could go through the list in the chief.ini and the errors would just follow along.

Any help here?

Most likely because I procrastinate too much and most folks had already installed the original armour. Radge gave good instructions on how to correct the chief.ini file as it was supposed to. In fact, when I read through all the instructions that's when I realized where the problem was. That's me - don't RTFM!!

I updated all the summer skins of this pack and some winter and desert textures were also corrected, together with every mat file. If you already got this pack all you need to do is replace the old folder with a new one.

I would like to present a big upgate of this mod.
It is very versatile, not just adding new vehicles.

I'll begin with the fact that I have updated 6 "old" vehicles:
- SU-122P
- ISU-122
- ISU-122S
- ISU-130
- ISU-152-1 (now it's called a ISU-152BM)
- Aufkl. Panther

Also there were 11 vehicles added (the list you'll fing inside the archive, it's a surprise ;) 8) )
I will only pay attention that the first tank in the upper-left corner is T-34, 1940, it has default turret.
I assume that you use wingflyr's updated 3D of the tanks and SPG, because the turret out there
and default IL-2 T-34 turret and not the same (different production time)

Also, with the 4.13 release, I have looked at the new SPG (to be more accurate, they are tank destroyers, but not tanks, as they are positioned by DT >:(),  horrified :D and gave them new chassis, now they look really better 8)
They are positioned as addition to this pack, more information you will find inside the archieve, too ;)

All the 3D, by the way, except additions, is packed in the .sfs to occupy less space and load quicked :)

great pack Radge :) I just did not get the M-10 family to work in CUP; but I have to admit I did not try really much that afternoon I was adding the armor pack as I was also integrating the Ship Extension into my CUP module and was putting more effort into this....
will try the M-10s though at a later point...

i've had this 5.1 update sitting in my Mods folder for a month already, but each time i want to try and update my existing pack (currently v.3) my brain starts melting from the instructions....
i tried to give it a go this evening, but still stuck on reading all the different options to do - if this, then that/if that. then this...
lol
my poor brain can't handle it. the folders alone are more than i can deal with - Classes, Ini_all, Ini_deleted, Ini_new_only, Weapons_New.... bzzzt, crackle, smell of burnt ozone....lol  :D

if someone wouldn't mind giving me a brief rundown on what exactly my steps are here, i'd appreciate it.
as i said, currently i'm using the v.3 Armor pack, MA530 install, i already have the M10 in my game... i really just need some guidance as to what i'm supposed to be making use of amongst the available options, and what i should ignore....

okay, if i'm expecting any help with this, i'd better try and explain what my difficulties are in trying to install the 5.1 updated pack.
my existing pack is 3.2, by the looks of it, and the instructions that come with 5.1 are extremely confusing to me, as i don't have the entries it's telling me i should have.
for the record, the 3.2 pack i have is working just fine, but i've about given up trying to follow the instructions for 5.1.

the 5.1 pack asks me to delete certain entries from the previous pack before adding in the new entries.
let me give an example:
the file that comes with 5.1 called _delete_chief.ini - first entry it asks me to remove is:
 1-T34_100_LB1      ai.ground.ChiefGround 1 icons/tank.mat
that's fine, i can do that, no problem.
the second part of the entry for this tank that it asks me to delete is:
[Armor.1-T34_100_LB1]
 com.maddox.il2.objects.vehicles.tanks.NewArmorPackTank$T34_100_LB1

now here my problems start.
my second entry for this tank in my chief.ini is not the same as the one it asks me to delete.
my entry in chief.ini looks as follows:
[Armor.1-T34_100_LB1]
 com.maddox.il2.objects.vehicles.tanks.RadgeArmor2Tank$T34_100_LB1

so, a very different looking entry, but it's all i have in my chief file.
the same issue exists for pretty much every other entry it asks me to delete.
and then, on top of that, of the remaining entries that it makes no mention of me having to remove, those also have a different entry from the others, so i am guaranteed a 70% ctd here, without even bothering to start making any changes.

You know, I didn't think that someone will install it on versions earlier than 4.0.
You have found the right entry that you should delete, the other entries that should be deleted, do have the same logic :)

If I have rightly understood you, after deleting necessary lines, crash should not happen.

what still concerns me, is that if i just delete the ones that are 'similar' to the ones you ask me to delete, and leave the rest, what i am then left with will be some entries referring to this:

com.maddox.il2.objects.vehicles.tanks.NewArmorPackTank$T34_100_LB1

and some others remaining will still be referring to this:

com.maddox.il2.objects.vehicles.tanks.RadgeArmor2Tank$T34_100_LB1

that is why i say it will crash at 70%.
this is all my fault because i was absent from the forums for several months last year, and so i missed some updates inbetween.
don't worry, though - i figure the best thing for me to do now is to remove ALL entries completely from the previous pack, and then add all the entries from the 'Ini_new_only' folder....?  :)

okay, i'm now trying to remove all entries for the previous packs, in order to have a clean start.
even just finding the right files to delete has been complicated by the fact that i'm trying to delete files that were added over several updates, and obviously i've missed something.
if things could possibly be more complicated, i didn't add the earlier entries all in the same place, but moved them around in my ini files, so that similar tanks were grouped together. trying to undo this without f*cking it up is an absolute nightmare, lol
so, the first of what i'm sure will be multiple 70% ctd's is the following:

PlMisChief: section 'Armor.1-ISU130' not found
[6:41:37 AM]   java.lang.RuntimeException: PlMisChief: section 'Armor.1-ISU130' not found

seems i got off lightly there, the third attempt was the charm.
at least now it's loading, so hopefully all i need to do now is add the entries for the 5.1 pack.
i know it's obvious, but as things are going, i thought i'd better confirm first - at this point, is it correct that i add the new entries from the 'Ini_all' folder?

the reason i sometimes like to give running commentary on my problems, is that i have long since discovered that i can spend hours trying to figure something out by myself without success, but guaranteed, the moment i post about it, i figure the problem out almost immediately, before anyone even offers a solution.
so, the quickest way for me to solve my problems is just to post them up in the forum, and i'll solve them right away.

i've seen one or two pics of a Churchill with something that looks a little like a slot in that position, so maybe it's accurate - although most of the pics i've seen show it as solid.
so, my whole reason for asking about it is to see if it's a bug or an accurate representation...
certainly, for a tank, it looks like a 'weak spot' if it is meant to be that way, so i have my doubts....

When installing the M10/M36 rip from 4.13, replace, in chief.ini

with

EDIT: It also includes Challenger mk.I entries, purge those too. >.>

file.rc do you know the correct correct entry for hsfx7 /DBW? I'm still missing most of the machines (minus the 4.2 folder then all of them) :-|
the SFS file landed in the sas sfs folder to the rc file. I added {@sfs MOUNT SAS_SFS/New_Armor_Pack_5.1.sfs} mod works in 4.10DBW

In HSFX7 you can just drop it in the main folder (together with all the other sfs files) and the .rc entry would be: @sfs MOUNT New_Armor_Pack_5.1.sfs to be placed at the end of all the HSFX 3do just before the maps. As far as sfs are concerned it is the content of the latest sfs to be loaded that has priority.
