Hi  !
Great stuff, generally speaking, but with a little remark about modifications on airfield textures :
Some french 1944 airfields appeared with fields patterns between runways (not an overall green surface) on the original maps because they ACTUALLY carried these patterns for camouflage purpose... converting them to overall green surfaces may help virtual pilots to find them  ....  but is not historical  ;)

I based my work on aerial photographs for many of them !
(Please compare this 1947 photograph with the airfield done in original Westfront 44 map)
Vitry-En-Artois:

...your towns and railyards are GREAT  ;D

Hi all, thank you very much for your comments and I wish you a lot of good time on those magnificent maps from Gilb57.  :)

I also hope that they bring to the  missions or campaigns creators a new surge of interest as well as for the maps
"Bay of Biscay" and "Can english channel"....  ;)

Dear Gilb, I am absolutely agree about your comments.

and even without seeking historical images it is true that nowadays also, crops or grasslands occupy some parts of some airfields.
but because of the limitations of the game it is sometime difficult to arrange textures in accurate and realistic ways.
This is why, as you point out, this solution far from the historical reality is probably better for the game-play
and for my own point of vew, a better visual compromise in order to be able to place objects more easily on neutral surfaces during the creation of scenarios...
Thank you again for your absolutely outstanding job.
Thierry  ;D

Perhaps I've done something wrong, but as far as I can tell, I've installed this MOD in accordance with the readme. Nevertheless, after installing in DBW 1.71, the landscape looks no different than the prior Westfront landscape. Below are screenshots of Cap Gris-Nez after the Mod was installed. As far as I can tell, it's the same as before installation. And, yes, I did delete the old Westfront maps, overwrote the _Tex folder, etc.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

After further testing I've discovered the following. If I load one of the QMB Pro missions which came with the original Westfront Maps, the unmodded landscape appears. If I create a new mission in FMB, the modded landscape appears. I would have thought that by deleting the unmodded maps, the new landscape and textures would appear in QMB missions but this isn't the case. Can this be adjusted?

Hi Btasm,

Please take into account that only the maps WF40 And WFG are modded.

The WF44 maps summer and winter are inchanged . I'm not at home and it's impossible for me at this moment to see what map use the QMB for WF missions.

This problem, if there is one, will not be complicated to solve by changing a few entries in the Missions files.  ;)

Tomorrow I'll watch what I can do about maps WF44 and for QMB and I will keep you informed.

Regards, Thierry. :)

Thierry:

I checked. You are right. The Westfront 40 and Westfront 44 Summer missions use the following "MAP WestFront44/WF44S_load.ini" while the Westfront 44 Winter missions use the winter version. I've begun inserting the entry "MAP WestFront40/WF40_load.ini" in the Westfront 40 missions (in place of the WF44S_load.ini) which seems to work. Thanks.
Title: Re: MOD Westfront 40, 44 & Generic 41-44 updated
Post by: tbauchot on January 19, 2015, 04:09:59 PM
Hi all,

Major Update...

As promised: The WF44 maps are now to the same standards as the other WF40 and WFG maps.

What's new on these maps ?

Westfront 44 :
______________

Adding of the maps WF 44 summer and winter to the same "standard" than the other maps
(Reliefs, textures, cities, airfields, etc ...)

Westfront Généric Winter:
_________________________

With The arrival of WF44 map, the WFG Winter map is now returned to the "light snow" standard.

For all the maps :
__________________

-Adding of the latest updates of "Gilb" : Trees.Tga "light" version, etc ...

-Addition of new personal skies for each map in each season except for WF40 and WF44 summer maps
 that retain their "standards" skies.

In the "load.ini" of each map the "standard sky" option is preserved and can be activated
according to the tastes of everyone (In [APPENDIX] remove or add: // in front of HighCloud and HighCloudsNoise)

These new skies have a very nice rendering in agreement with the "Cloud Mod Version 1" of ? (sorry, I don't know
the author ... Thanks to him to report his name !  ;) . ) Set to weather = good.
 Mod included in the download.

And now, enough talking, please, look at the pictures of the new skies :

Sorry Zsolt, as you can see by yourself, no QMB missions are included in the new package !  ;)

However, and I did not specified it, I have added additional missing objects for HSFX 7.03 in the download.

I run DBW 1.71. Is the Clouds mod simply placed in the #DBW folder? Is there anything else which need to be done to activate it?
Title: Re: MOD Westfront 40, 44 & Generic 41-44 updated
Post by: tbauchot on January 27, 2015, 05:57:22 AM
Hi all,

Hi Btasm,

Yes put simply this Cloud Mod in your #DBW or #SAS or MOD folder.

However, after numerous tests I noticed that this cloud Mod :
"Clouds big 2.1a" of Manysh suited much better for my skies.
These clouds are also very, very nice !

please have a look at : https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,18405.0.html

Indeed, the size of the clouds in this mod helps mitigate the bug on the horizon simply by masking it !
in the conf.ini of the game by settling : LandGeom=3 it is possible to have perfect horizons
but it only works for a weather setting on "clear" or "good"
This bug exists with all types of skies (and principally at hight altitude.) and it will be even stronger with denser skies as it is the case here !

So to summarize and for these reasons I recommend you this cloud mod !  ;)

The results are visually very correct on these weather settings :
Clear, Good, Poor, Blind, Rain and Thunderstorm...
However, I would not recommend you the setting : Hazy...

So for Dgen campaigns go into your  Dgen folder / Settings"name of the campaign or sub-campaign".dat  File
( for example : settingsDeBoe09.dat ) and set the [MapWeather] accordingly...

for example :

WF_1939Ardennes 5 65 0 10 10 5 5

Each number represents the  chance percentage of having a type of weather.
For example : 5% of clear weather, 65% of  good weather, 0% of hazy weather, etc...
The result of adding these number must be equal to 100.

Hi Zinonid,

Thank you very much for your comment !  ;D

Regards, Thierry.

Thierry:

I installed the suggested Cloud Mod, "Clouds big 2.1a". I believe I installed the mod correctly, yet it has no effect. My install is unchanged by its presence even though I deactivated the other clouds mod.

The cloud mod included with your WestFront download, on the other hand, is quite good and lends a new atmosphere to Il-2. Indeed, I have figured out how to employ this cloud mod with other DBW map mods and it works rather well.

Thanks.

Wow, the new versions of the map look great Thierry! Just beautiful. Thank you!

However, I'm having a problem with the maps in the WestFront44 folder. They will load fine in the FMB and display everything beautifully, but I can't save any mission for any of the new WestFront44-based maps.

I've run the static.ini checker tool and it tells me I have no missing objects (I ran this on all the actors.static files in the folder). I don't have this problem with any of your new WestFront40 maps. I can save missions just fine in those maps. When I've had similar problems with other maps, I was always able to solve it with the static.ini checker and installing the missing objects, but this time I'm really scratching my head. Do you (or anyone else reading this) know what else could cause mission files to not save properly? Or is there something the static.ini utility might have missed?

I'm running 4.12.2m with HSFX 7.03 and I've temporarily deactivated the WestFront44 folder under MAPMODS so the game is currently falling back to the original versions of the '44 map that came with HSFX. Like I said, the new WestFront40 maps work fine.

This one is a tough nut to crack. I'm hoping maybe you (or someone else here) can help me solve this.

Thanks.

Hi MrMoonlight,

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Indeed it was also impossible for me to save a mission on maps WF44 and G.
Yet these maps were working fine with the Dgen on  Wesfront campaigns !!!

Fortunately I have found the error with the help of the "log.lst" .
In my objects to add to HSFX witch are in the download I had put a bad entry and a bad folder :
Horsegrey in place of Horsegray !!!
These objects exist both in the game...

Download link for the "Horsegray" missing object :

Will you be experimenting further with the new sky textures? I think the looks stunning, but it would be interesting to see one just ever so slighty less cloudy and with maybe some patches of blue in between. . The current one is PERFECT for winter maps, especially near the horizon. I put it on Cyrberolas Ardennes and the results are beautiful. Been playing a lot on your mapupgrades recently, and I must say it is some fine work your putting out! Keep it up!

Hi Zionid,

You are correct in your observation. The skies that we can observe in nature are all so diverse that I can't stop my work at this stage.
I'm still working on cloudy skies, but with a better quality, more lighter and with some patches of blue in between the clouds...
it is a long process that requires a lot of adjustments and a lot of tests at different altitudes and times of the day. But I think I'm on the right track !  ;)
So, as soon as I will have some news, I shall not fail to share them with the community...
So stay tuned !
So in the meantime I wish you good flights and lots of fun on IL-2 and SAS.

Thierry.  :)

Hi Thierry,

I am currently revamping nearly all my maps with your wonderful new high clouds textures, so as to get different high clouds, mission after mission, and this changes immersion quite a lot ...!  :P

The only drawback of my method, is that the modified missions (modified .mis load.ini name) won't load in the FMB, but the fix (if you want to modify things in a mission) is easy, you only need to change the load.ini name back to the original one ...  ;)

Many THX for sharing ...!  :D

Yes, it is possible !   ;)

(http://s12.postimg.cc/5x607jurx/123.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)

All the airfield added with the hotfix on the WF44 summer and winter maps are, apart from a few details, identical to the originals.
Why redo a work that is initially Excellent ?
I simply corrected oversights from me...
Also I added on the summer map the airfields that were absent and yet that were on the winter map ...
The summer map 44  could be now renamed :  Westfront summer 44~45 !  ;)

However, if you have a little time to devote to your favourite game,
alternatively load the original maps and mine. Do screen shots. Thus you will be able to see by yourself the small changes made !
I can not do it for you ...  ;)

Regards, Thierry.

Please at first, download the needed objects for DBW (and maybe for HSFX ?: Only basic stock or mods objects...Surely included in BAT.) (I'm not an user of BAT !!! "Yes, I know, Nobody's perfect ! :-[ ;D ) and look at the "readme_first.txt" :

Because in the download there is a lot of new retextured or modified existing objects, in alpha level, at heigh or at down, or with new loading distances !!!  ;)
So you really need to load them in your game and, or, put the corresponding entries in your static.ini !

Thank you very much for your posts !  :)

I remain at your disposal for any assistance !  :)

This is really awesome. Lucky I just upgraded my grafixcard. ;)  If I could make a suggestion at this point it would be German cities. I think Hamburg, Köln, Dresden etc. would be worthwhile for missions and campaign makers. Merci beaucoup and keep it up!

I have installed the maps in BAT/WOW. Also installed the download "Part 2 : The needed objects for DBW, HSFX and all other Games versions users." But not the 3rd, as it seems to be comprised in part 2.

Maps load all fine, but after controlling with static ini checker, I see some objects are missing. Here is the list :

Hi Gaston,

Pratically all these objects are inclued in the download part 2 !
Have you correctely installed them in your Mods folder ?
Have you put the new entries in your static.ini ?
because they are new one !!! (please have a look to the readme.)  ;)

and the needed objects for hsfx are not the same than the other...  ;)

I will send you quickly a link for some other objects that are not inclued and that you don't have.  :) ;)

Downloading HSFX pack now.

And I began yesterday to modify the static.ini. But that is quite some work ! LOL

For the moment, found 5 objects that are not in DBW pack :

Code: [Select]
buildings.House$towerbridgegate_d_1
buildings.House$towerbridgegate_d_2
buildings.House$Bulldozer2
buildings.House$Bulldozer_US
buildings.Plate$Pac_GrHardstandLarge

Maybe are they in HSFX pack.

But I will probably find other ones before finishing...

Anyway, I am just adding the missing ones, but not correcting lines for the other ones... should I also modify lines for all objects, including the not missing ones ? ?

Gaston, your missing objects are here :

https://www.mediafire.com/file/356ikwovfbeiwaw/Objets_Gaston.7z

for these objects :
buildings.House$towerbridgegate_d_1
buildings.House$towerbridgegate_d_2

You need only to put their entries in your static.ini :

Code: [Select]
[buildings.House$towerbridgegate_d_1]
Title           towerbridgegate_d_1
MeshLive        3do/Buildings/England/towerbridgegate/live.sim
MeshDead        3do/Buildings/England/towerbridgegate/dead.sim
AlignToLand     0
AddHeightLive   -11.0
AddHeightDead   -11.0
Body            RockBig
Panzer          1.1

[buildings.House$towerbridgegate_d_2]
Title           towerbridgegate_d_2
MeshLive        3do/Buildings/England/towerbridgegate/live.sim
MeshDead        3do/Buildings/England/towerbridgegate/dead.sim
AlignToLand     0
AddHeightLive   -11.5
AddHeightDead   -11.5
Body            RockBig
Panzer          1.1

And it is a mistake from me ! I have forget these entries in the download !!!  :-X ;)

I will correct that now !!!  :)

The new link for the part 2  is updated on the first post !

https://www.mediafire.com/file/oban5gy0learxkd/WFmaps_Add-On_Objects_DBW_T-Bauchot.7z

If you don't want to download again, please just add these lines to your static.ini :

Code: [Select]
//===========================================================================

Title England
//===========================================================================

[buildings.House$towerbridgegate_d]

Apologies for the inconvenience !  :-X ;)

Thanks for your work !

I will continue to add these objects to my static.ini. Once I finish, I will tell you if there is still something missing.

Except

buildings.House$towerbridgegate_d_1
buildings.House$towerbridgegate_d_2

I have found until now, there is also

buildings.House$Bulldozer2
buildings.House$Bulldozer_US
buildings.Plate$Pac_GrHardstandLarge

missing. Hopefully they are in your new DBW file, I do not know as I am actually downloading...

Anyway, tomorrow, I finish work too late to have an eye on it... wil watch this weekend !

Gaston : In the reply #70# you will find all that you need !  :)

You don't need to put new entries in your static.ini only if you have excactly the same one !

But you really need to put the regarding folders and the others (without entries !!!) in your game because some loadings distances, or textures are modified in them, in order to have a better frame rate or a better visual impact !  :) ;)

Don't forget : This map is heavy ! but with these new modifications it is really easily playable without any wrong visual impacts !  ;D

To senior T-Bauchot:

In CSR folder (from Central Cesko-Slovenska map objects) found hangar named KbelyPraha, in your 3do archives for WF40 object Kbely apsent.
Installed in HSFX7.03, sees in Sturmolog : not found both bulldozers, all partizans, RAF & Luft officers & mechanic, lightbrown horse (maybe almost nearby the same as in Gaston's log).
When opening in Actors tool file outbuildings.txt & trying to find any - nothing exept hangar Kbely o_O.
So, renamed Kbely in KbelyPraha, creating inbuildings (near 8 minutes, ~ 42 Mb) - only 1 problem fixed.
Next: in tex/GW/autumn now files Bump are located only, no one texs. In AutumnLoad.ini the paths to the textures of the spring map are prescribed. So, the Bump files from autumn folder do not work for all autumn maps in my case. Or the textures of autumn in work? When d/l your add-on, killed all your old WF maps, so, can't recheck.
PS:  Is the landscape in autumn and spring in France so similar in-real? This is happiness!

I have updated the download regarding HSFX objects in hope that you could find your missing objects !  ;)

The HangarKbely is in the folder 3do/Buildings/CSvsD1938 ! and not in CSR !!! The entries are :

Code: [Select]
//===========================================================================
[***]
Title Industrial Hangers
//===========================================================================

[buildings.House$HangarKbely]
Title           HangarKbely
MeshLive        3do/Buildings/CSvsD1938/HangarKbely/live.sim
MeshDead        3do/Buildings/CSvsD1938/HangarKbely/dead.sim
Body            RockBig
Panzer          0.5

The textures are the good one in the maps load.ini and the "bump" files are not necessary ! (they are surely illegal travellers !  ;D )

Updated objects for HSF (link updated in first post.) :
https://www.mediafire.com/file/sv5ks31vrprax7i/WFmaps_Add-On_Objects_HSFX.7z

For "all partizans, RAF & Luft officers & mechanic", please try to have a look here at first : Mod DLV_Infantry and all its Add-On !

Mod DLV_Infantry.zip

IL2 LUFTWAFFE PERSONEL.rar

Dear Tbauchot,
I think I am following the track of Gaston inside BAT WAW. After installing your add-on, I can't get any map inside FMB. I don't know what I did wrong.
Maybe Gaston could be so kind as to explain step by step how he installed your add-on?
Congratulations for your work, unfortunately I am at the present unable to enjoy it.
I am counting on the help of Gaston.
Best regards and once again congrats.

Hi Tartenmuche !

I followed tbauchot explanations, and had some corrections to do in my static.ini, as I installed the maps in WAW only. For the objects, I downloaded tha pack for DBW, and some ones tbauchot give me the link (maybe he can share it with orher poples putting it available in this thread, I think, as it solved the last points for me).

You can download it from here :

https://www.mediafire.com/file/v6n56e8iv1coiab/Statit.ino+for+BAT-WAW.ZIP (https://www.mediafire.com/file/v6n56e8iv1coiab/Statit.ino+for+BAT-WAW.ZIP) FOR BAT/WAW only !

and install it in your game as the usual place. It should work, as it does for me !

And now, all the maps load and save fine ! All objects are now here !

Dear TBauchot,
quels cieux, quels cieux!
Splendid skies!
Unfortunately in spite of the help from Gaston, I didn't recover FMB.
I don't know whether it is due to a mistake made by me during the installation of your add on or to another previous cause.
I should perhaps ask for advice in the BAT Tech Help?
Best regards and congratulations.

Thank you very much, your compliments affect me a lot ! I live in the North of France in Valenciennes, and it's for me a duty to renember, to make relive this region as it was at the age of its great industrial and economical peak ( As Belgium and England that I like very much too ! )... We differ in our landscape, and Texas beachs or PTO ones are surely not the same that our, but the most important live in our very nice exchanges and the discoveries which we can exchange !  :) ;)

Hi Tartenmuche,

Does your other maps load fine when you are in FMB, or is it only the WF ones ?

Have you deleted the old entries of the WF maps in your "all.ini", and changed them by the new ones ?
(Because if they are named differently in BAT-WAW, so the game will not be able to find them ! )

"Maps.properties" is not a problem : It simply rename the entries of "all.ini" by a name of your choice.

Usually, when you try to load a map unsuccesfully, there is an error message in  the down left of the window.
What tell you this message ?

FMB or FMB unlocked ?

Do you renember step by step what you have done for the installation ?
Try to reconfigure your game like it was, see if all work fine, and redo the install of the new maps.

Often, a little error like a bad space in an entrie (for example) is fatal for the loading of a map !!!
I do had the case no longer than a few days ago when testing the maps before the publication.

"abcdef. tga" in place of "abcdef.tga" in the "map_load.ini", and the map don't load !!!
And it's the same in "static.ini", "all.ini", etc....  ;)

Dear Tbauchot,
when I try to open any map on FMB, I stay with the blue screen.
When I try to call an recent mission in FMB: blue screen.
When I try to call an existing mission, I get "loading mission" but nothing happens.
FMB unlocked is not implemented. I never used it.
In the lower left corner I just see "load landscape"
I am not sure to be able to reconfigure my game like it was.
Aie, aie.

Well, if you see the names of the maps that you want to load in FMB : The "all.ini" is at the good place !
Is your "_Tex" folder in : "MapMods/Maps" folder ?
Are your "individual maps folders" ( e.g. "BOM", "Berlin", "WestFront44", etc...) in :  "MapMods/Maps" folder ?
I don't know exactly the arborescence (tree structure) of BAT-WAW , but try to verify in that way !
Maybe had you inclued accidently a new folder in the folder "Maps" : e.g. "MapMods/Maps/Maps" ???

Dear Tbauchot,
when  I click on map in FMB nothing happens, I get no map list, the screen remains blue.
when in FMB I click on "Folder" I get the list, then when I click on "Load" I am able to select a mission, but when I click on the mission I get a message "mission load" but nothing moves.
My tex folder in  in in the maps folder.
I don't have an " individual maps folder"
My maps folder looks like this:
tex
norway
WestFront40
WestFront44
all.ini
In your readme you ask to remove all the entries regarding WF, does it include the WF La Chute?
Best regards.

The HangarKbely is in the folder 3do/Buildings/CSvsD1938 ! and not in CSR !!! The entries are :

Hi Toobone,

I don't know exactly what you have done, but it seems to me that you are on a very, very, bad way !!!  ;)

Some objects are not the good ones on your screenshots, and some ones are not present.
Did you play with the actors.static ???  :o

And about your textures or maps load.ini, did you play with them ???  :o

I have just redownloaded the maps, retested them, and all is correct ! ( I really have no time to lose in it ! )

Now, if these map, that you are unable to load and that you are unable to see correctly, are not enought good for you...
I can really make nothing for you, except maybe to advise you to go to see somewhere else for finding better ?  ;) :)
Or maybe to open a new topic on the subject ?  ;)

Hi guys !

For the enthusiasts of reliefs on textures, this is for you :

BumpH files for all the textures of WF maps Add-On.  ;)

Download link : https://www.mediafire.com/file/bcbimns9g3cgtsv/BumpH_Files_WF-Maps_T-Bauchot_Add-On.7z

And by the way, a little explanations of the WF-maps seasons !

"Spring" maps:
In spring, the new greens colors of the landscape and the trees are very soft, (with a lot of yellow),
often under sunny days...

"Summer" maps:
In summer, the greens are more "cold".

"Autumn" maps:
In autumn, after the summer haying, the grass regain tones of a very soft green,
(like in spring time) while trees take very soft brown and yellow tints.
The weather is often sunny with a very warm light.
These maps are usable until about mid november...

"Winter snowless" maps:
A very good alternative to autumn maps after about mid november.
the ground, due to the fallen leafs is more brown.
And by the way it's a very good generic winter map !
(because in winter the snowy days are very rare.)

"Winter" maps:
There is very few snow.
And the clear zones could almost represent the frost (the white frosts) on the grass .

"Winter hard" maps:
The landscape is very snowy.
This is actually quite rare in these country, (some rare days a year)
but maybe in the area of Ardenne and the east.

Some pictures in order to illustrate "BumpH" files and the rendering of the different seasons :

Been trying all afternoon to get all the maps to work. The first seven in the list work fine but from the 'Spring' map right through the next maps it's no go. They load after about a three minute wait and after an aircraft is placed and the map saved, when I press ' Play' nothing happens. I thought at first 'objects' but I ran the Static ini checker and it tells me I have no objects missing. I am running BAT and downloaded all files including the bumph files. I get two errors showing.........INTERNAL ERROR Str2FloatClamp() etc but I don't know how to fix that.

Hi Benson,

Please have a look to that topic : https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=18518.0.
I have for myself about 10 of these messages in my "log.lst" and it's not the reason why the game don't work... ;)
Note also that strangely, it is possible to have missing objects whitout any report in the static.ini checker !!!
Do you select player when you place a plane on the map ?
Title: Re: Westfront Maps Add-On
Post by: benson on May 28, 2018, 12:04:02 PM
Thank you for your reply Thierry. I had an idea those error messages meant nothing from something I read years ago. I'm going to start a new log.lst and see if anything shows up in there. Yes I do select player when I place a plane. The reason I didn't think there were missing objects was because as I said the first seven maps, WF Summer Blitz to WF 44 Winter load and work fine and then the static ini check seemed to confirm it. If I see anything in the log I'll get back to you if you don't mind.

Anyone run into this problem? My logfile shows I have a problem with RAF H Barrack2 but I can't figure out what it is. Have you downloaded and installed the objects in 'part 2' on the first page?

Hello PO_MAK_249RIP. Thanks for your answer. Yes I have downloaded everything there and when I do a static ini check it tells me all files are present and the one that's giving me problems, RAF H Barrack2, is there in the proper folder. As a Liverpool fan I'm very sorry to hear Pochettino is going to Real Madrid.

Hi! I have the same problem. Installed everything. The ini checker tells all map objects are available. Tried West Front with JGSME then directrly from MapMods. The map opens in FMB but missions cannot be saved. The way of installing maps in IL-2 is very difficult thing in terms of this static.ini. In this case I would like to ask whether the location of any entry is very important, I mean if [buildings.House$Jetty1NWE] is in one Title, but should be in Title PortsNWE (just an example). Will it play a role? If yes I will never manage to make my static ini in the right order, cause it has more than 1700 Word pages. Yesterday I tried Carpathians map and checked it through ini checker. Three map objects were absent. Having so huge 3do objects, I tried to find them in the internet and here, but failed. Missions are not saved. In this case I believe that the maps for free downloading should come completed with all necessary objects, cause not all can find them anywhere. Another problem was with cztx_Caucasus map, I cannot even open it in FMB having the blank screen. The West Front map is fantastic, I wish I had it for flying, but...

You won't believe, but I solved the problem. Thanks to Sturmolog. As it turned out to be the problem was in the naming of one folder in my 3do. I had a folder named bitumenearth in 3do/Airfield. But it should be bbitumenearth, namely with double "bb". So making the second folder named bbitumenearth, the problem was solved and now I can save missions! Fantastic! At once I have this fantastic map working!!! Probably this issue will help to anyone else :-)

You have to be hardworking to get all the objects needed. Look in the vehicles and artillery section of modwork section to find the object needed. It's just superb and very FPS friendly.

Hi, thank you very much for your comments !  ;)
About one year of evening work, day after day, for this add-on part-one...
This work is not really historical, but rather inspired by my own knowledge of some regions, and too, by
the viewing of old photographs, and studying of old and actual maps.
The words : "In the spirit of" are more appropriate than "historical", regarding to my personnal preferences or sensitivity,
the limitations of the game, the objects, and the textures fantasy in their apparition on the ground...  ;)

Amazing tbauchot!!!  I tried it in Bat 3.6 and it works... kinda.  I understand this latest update isn't geared towards BAT, at least not yet.
All the maps load fine in FMB the detail and objects are amazing!  I am able to play on the generic maps (summer/winter_snowless... etc), but not the Western Front 44 or Late Summer/Autumn/Winter/Spring. The maps and details are the same.  I just thought it was a little strange.  Nothing to look into, just wanted to bring it up.  Thanks again.

we have tried to integrate these maps into BAT, several times, several people, but we always ran into one or another problem (missions not loading properly, FPS crashes....) . One of its problems is the inconsistent package format, it's distributed on so many downloads that it is a bit hard to be certain you have everything.
For now this is shelved as a bottomless pit, maybe some day it will be looked at again.

Hi, the only difference between the WFG maps and WFG maps "late" are the modifications of Manston airfield, and the
addition of Asch, Grave, Heesh and Ophoven airfields. ;)
The WF44 maps S&W are exactly the same than WFGM late S&W.
I left these two entries (WF44) only for technical reasons.

I use 4.11.1 + HSFX 6.0. The map loaded just fine. It looks gorgeous, but I couldn't save missions. I added the objects from the "HSFX" folder and ran static.ini checker, which showed that there are over 400 (!!) more objects missing. Quite discouraging :(

Hi, On which part of the map do you have FPS crashes ? Have you used my modified, Bassin_Minier/3do/Airfield/RoadPlate1,2,3,etc... which are used by thousands...  ? (Visibility apparition is reduced from 100000 meters to 10000 meters = a great gain in FPS ! ;) ) (inclued in the previous downloads.)

Hi, I use a v.4.12.2.m HSFX v 7.0.3 version. I’m really sorry about your 400 missing items !

In order to give more pertinent informations to all the users, here, this is my own DBW et HSFX static.ini & technics.ini .
In hope that this will give you a good way to find your missing objects ! ;)

I already had the first version of the Add-ons installed and now have the new version working. In my install I needed all objects supplied - both DBW & HSFX - to do so.
Quite some work, but fantastic results. Please 're-work' the 1940 versions the same way Tierry.

How BAT spoils us; my map adding skills were a bit rusty, to say the least  :) and I had to dig deep to find out how this had to be done.

Hi,
This is a little correction for my West-Front Géneric Maps Add-on.
I have removed the object "Kronstadt Blank Wall Plate : Kronstwall 1"
near Eben Emael.
It was invisible and useless in DBW,
but it gave a shadow bug in HSFX 7.

Installation :
Please, put the the actors.static files in :
MODS,#DBW,etc...\MapsMods\Maps\WestFront44
or,Files\maps\WestFront44
Overwrite.

Best regards, Thierry.  ;)
