I started this one a while ago, and I have been chipping at it a few minutes each week. I am getting towards finishing the cockpit tub, and the engine I finished today, with the rest of the poweregg parts.
This is the 1/32 Ki-84 Hayate from Hasegawa. If I ever had to recommned a kit in 1/32 for someone to start with, this wouuld be it. It is one of the best fitting kits ever made.
This is the second 1/32 Hayate for me, but this one I am building for myself!

I'll be posting in this thread some pix of the previous one I did for someone's collection, as that was quite an interesting paintjob. But this is it for now.

Looking good!
keep us updated... ;)

Well right now it's looking about how most Ki-84s I run into do, so good work! Needs more fire and screaming though...
;) :D

This is the other topic I saved, and could retrieve the pictures of. I am still busy with this one (still busy with the damn cockpit lol!), so I will post update soon.

After many moods of fiddling, I have completed the port sidewall, and the rest of the detail I wanted in the cockpit bottom. Now it is on to the radiopack in the back...
Hope you enjoy it, it looks like little progress, and..it is!! ;D

Man, you do beautiful work in 1/32. I'm still working on getting as much detail (yeah, right) in 1/72 although the old eyes REQUIRE the headset magnifer!
Bye the bye, I just started using a Harder&Steenbeck Evolution airbrush - wow! typical, I guess, German engineering. Beats my old Iwata and I thought that would never happen.
Keep the pics coming!

PS P, could you PM me on your aluminum technique?
-
Thanx Jack!
Which aluminum technique do you mean?
-
How you achieve the aluminum finish on the seat and engine. I use Tamiya Spray but it certainly does not look as good as what you achieve.
Thx.

oh, that is model master's metalizer range of paints. aluminum I think, or perhaps it was just plain silver, airbrushed on.
