Splashscreens and Backgrounds:
new in 4.13 ModAct 6:
- new folder structure
- uses jpg instead tga pics
- new: splashscreen.ini

(http://s10.postimg.cc/9e0t5jwex/413bk.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
Change the 4.13 MA6 Backgrounds:
make this folders in your 4.13 MA6 #SAS directory:
4.13_Backgrounds (can be any name)
--> gui (do not change this)
----> menu (do not change this name)
so it looks like: ..\#SAS\4.13_Backgrounds\gui\menu
your background pics resides in the ...\gui\menu folder
and have this names:
background_de.jpg
background_ja.jpg
background_ru.jpg
background_en.jpg
wide_background_de.jpg
wide_background_ja.jpg
wide_background_ru.jpg
wide_background_en.jpg
where the background_xx.jpg pics have to be 4:3
and the wide_background_xx.jpg pics have to be 16:9.

Change the 4.13 MA6 Splashscreens:
make this folders in your 4.13 MA6 #SAS directory:
4.13_Splashscreens (can be any name)
--> gui (do not change this)
----> splashscreen (do not change this)
--------->4by3 (do not change this)
--------->16by9 (do not change this)
so it looks like:
..\#SAS\4.13_Splashscreens\gui\splashscreen\4by3
and
..\#SAS\4.13_Splashscreens\gui\splashscreen\16by9
4:3 jpg pics goes into the 4by3, 16:9 pics into the 16by9 folder.
The splashscreens.ini file:
Resides in in ..\gui\splashscreen directory.
Here you add the names of the pics you want to use:
4:3 pics goes in the [normal] section, 16:9 in [wide].
See this example:
[normal]
4by3/avro_lancasters.jpg
4by3/behind_enemy_lines.jpg
4by3/bf_110.jpg
4by3/bird_of_prey.jpg
4by3/chasing_the_buzzbomb_spit.jpg
....
....
[wide]
16by9/avro_lancasters.jpg
16by9/behind_enemy_lines.jpg
16by9/bf_110.jpg
16by9/bird_of_prey.jpg
16by9/chasing_the_buzzbomb_spit.jpg
16by9/chasing_the_buzzbomb_tempest.jpg
16by9/chasing_the_sunrise.jpg
...
...
btw: of course you can have backgrounds and splashscreens
in one folder, I have it seperated to make it easier to understand. ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Download and see how it looks like:
https://www.mediafire.com/download/e2dgfvfkautudjs/MA6_backgrounds_splashscreens.7z
Install: unzip the 7z file and copy the folders
4.13_Backgrounds and 4.13_Splashscreens
into your \#SAS directory.
As you can see I have no 16:9 pics (not yet),
so the folder ..\gui\splashscreen\16by9 is empty,
there are no entries below [wide] in splashscreen.ini
and I do not have any wide_backgound pics in ...\gui\menu.
In my install splashscreen.ini looks like this now:
[normal]
4by3/background0.jpg
4by3/background1.jpg
4by3/background2.jpg
4by3/background3.jpg
4by3/background4.jpg
4by3/background5.jpg
4by3/background6.jpg
4by3/background7.jpg
4by3/background8.jpg
4by3/background9.jpg
4by3/background10.jpg
4by3/background11.jpg
4by3/background12.jpg
4by3/background13.jpg
4by3/background14.jpg
4by3/background15.jpg
4by3/background16.jpg
[wide]
I have named my pics in ...\gui\splashscreen\4by3
background1 ... background16,
but you are free to give them any name.
Just be sure to have the proper name
in the splashscreen.ini then.
Thats it, have fun. ;)
Great guide, thanks a lot Gerhard :)
Great!
Nice one. I like the current splashscreens a lot, however I would very much like to change to one that is a blueprint of an engine. Do you know the name and location of that specific file?
-
Bee, here they are, extracted from sas_basic_60.SFS ;):
Hallo to all,
i apologize for the disturb but i have install a new clear Il-1 1946 4.13 with ModAct 6 and then Splashscreens and Backgrounds as explained in this post, but these remain blanc.
There is another way for eliminate the white screen?
Regards
-
Have you installed the Screenies I have uploaded in first post?
They are limited to my (old) screen (4:3 ratio) and its meant as a example only.
Maybe you have another ratio (16:9) and so it will not work ... :-X
-
Hallo Gerax thanksfor your kindly reply.
Also i have 4:3 ratio and i have installed your mod. exactly as in the exaple with the same name, pratically all as in the first post, but the my screen remain white.
