I have no problem, but there is a special feature!  :-X
The player can not shoot if the enemies are not close by you!
Unfortunately this old tower I placed does not simulate the ascent / descent. She turns but if you look the external view it has not moved!
It takes enemy!

To have the update1 working, I have had to overwrite the A-20G-TGun in the previous B-24 cockpit.

I've just installed this into my CUP #WAW installation - flys fine - not checked all crew stations but it shows in QMB and the cockpits complete.

New M26 bombs do not work for this aircraft, mission loading finishes at 'null', though these bombs do work for B-24J.

It ONLY SHOOTS when enemy is near your airplane  ;)

The other times... the guy is just sleeping !  :D
Give him a break, he is stuck in a ball turret. Its not very comfortable inside there

Airbourne, how did you get it to run in DBW-4.10. I've installed it as per instructions, and I still only get the old B24 mod that came with DBW. not the new version.

Thank you again. The folder with new wheels textures let me possibility to enjoy your product.
B-24D-140-CO works now. By the way, it works with or without PA Jeronimo wheels MOD,
which I can turn on or off using SAS_JSGME. So, new wheels textures were exactly what I needed.

First of all, a big THANKS for this !

I installed in my DBW 4,10 install, but unfortunately it does not work : every time I load a mission with it, I have the error message once in the cockpit and have to stop the game pressing OK on the error message.

Then, I tried the AI only version, and it works... but of course I can not fly it. Strange, isn't it ?

Hi mate!

I have just managed to install your two B-24 works and I solved some issue I got....

....about this wonderful conversion initially I have no loadouts , only the default....

....looking into my mods weapon section I noticed that I had the common 100lbs bombs and searching for other 100lbs bombs I discover that you have used the one you developed for the late marks Corsair....but in that mod the classfiles aren't specified in a text files to pick up only the missing one (or two)....any chance to point me at the correct classfiles name?

Moreover I managed to adapt an old mod by J44 to change the front turret from the stock into a Consolidated....if you like I can send you the files....

I assume you're talking about a new turret for the B-24J.
I have this new turret.
But this turret is not intended to be used on a B-24D.

For those guys who say they have it working fine in 4.10, have they checked the other Liberators.

In my DBW installation the GR.V, 24D and 24J-100-CF all start a scramble mission with the wheels up???

Adding the new 3D for the 100-CF cures that a/c's problem but not the other two.

I know it's a 4.09 mod but am I the only one with this problem in 4.10?

Here is an interesting turn of events...

With the first posted mod for this B-24, which I added to my DBW-4.10 last week, ALL aircraft appeared in the game and
flew very nicely (See the screenshot below). - Please note that I do not have the GR.V mod installed in my game yet.

Now I have placed a "-" in front of the original folder and I have added this new Update/Upgrade version just posted recently
and the new airplane does not even show up. All the needed lines are there, but the airplane just does not appear.
Only the original game B-24 D and the other with the frontal turret B24J show in game.

Good thing I had not deleted the other original mod folder.
I went back to the original install I did last week and removed this new recent update, and
Now ALL 3 bomber types show up again in the game and fly very nice.

What ever is happening with the DBW-4.10 game version, I have no idea, but the first Mod-version posted
seemed to work alright. LOL  ;D

So, Thank You Epervier for your work in converting this bomber to the 4.09, which does also work in the 4.10 --> but ONLY
your first posted mod version. Not this recent update posted.

... and the new Mod wheels also work on this new  mod, if you just create a folder named for the  24J-100-CF and the
B-24D-140-CO and place it in the PA_Jeronimos "Wheels mod folder" with the needed skin files inside them.
They will show up in your airplanes.

In my earlier post I said that this B-24 flies nicely in my 4.10 DBW set-up and so it does. I should add I have Pal's auto-diff installed. But just like Redfox I find that my B-24J and my older B-24D are now unusable because they start every mission on the ground without an undercarriage. (I don't do air-start missions if I can avoid it). I have also discovered that if I remove the B-24D-140-CO the problem goes away and my original two B-24s work fine. Obviously there is some kind of weird conflict between the mods. Personally I shall just stick to the two original planes. After all, the 140-CO was made by Epervier for 4.09 not 4.10. (edit: not any more) We mustn't be greedy: two B-24s should be enough for any virtual aviator!

I installed successfully this plane, but can't get the full list of ordnance: I see only "default" listed in the dropdown menu of QMB.

I tried also with "AI only" version, but no juice. Of course, I updated folder "Weapons_USA_GB" with that provided with this mod.

What am I doing wrong? :-[

Since the creation of the World that bomb is replaced in the code by the FAB-50 which has the form of a 100lb!
This is stupid!
Unfortunately this nonsense exists in many Mods.
Every time I change the code to have a true 100lb!

They are also orphans now! They need a guardian angel 410 !  :D

CAUTION: this patch is ONLY FOR DBW USERS! NOT TESTED in stock 4.10/Modact! USE AT OWN RISK  ;)

If the bombsight not works, try these classfile (put into B-24D-140 mod folder):  https://www.mediafire.com/download/bqsjb971nb1ap8f/Bombsight_fix.rar

Installation:

1: go to B-24D140CO and delete the classfile "2E1ADF6EDF8A6C64". THIS IS A MANDATORY STEP!
   This class is incompatible with DBW stock B-24D and -J. The class was cloned and renamed, and now is used only by the B-24D-140.

2: Copy and paste the new classes into B-24D140CO folder. Overwrite if requested (but make a backup copy first).

3: Tests the patch! :)

Additional steps:

4: if you have the "relook mod" for the B-24J, go to mod folder and delete the same class pointed above, at Step 1.
   Optional: if you desire to maintain the stock DBW loadout (with Bat and guided bombs), delete ALL classes and the "cod" folder.


UPDATE
4: if you have the "relook mod" for the B-24J, go to mod folder and delete ALL the classfiles and cod folder. (Thanks to redfox for report!)

4bis: FIX for MISSING BAT bombs

Go to "relook mod" folder, 3do --> plane --> B-24J-100-CF(USA) folder, and open the hier.ini with a notepad. Now scroll down until the bottom and add these lines:

Carried out a few tests on your patch for the  B-24D-140-CO and everything seems fine, the problem with the u/c up on the other B-24s is certainly fixed in DBW.

But when I deleted the same classfile from the 'relook mod', I got a CTD with the following log:

Sorry redfox, my bad writing installation instructions...  :\'(

With the relook mod installed we need to delete ALL the classfiles and the cod folder. The CTD is caused by classfile 421B1C7CC1650FB6
I'll try to make this class compatible with the patch and DBW standard. For now delete it. Thanks for the report!

Have you tested the patch only on DBW?

I also tested it in 4.12 with the same results, that is the B-24D-140-CO and the other B-24s were fine but the re-look mod CTD, but I was in a rush and didn't check the logfile...

Now going to apply your solution on the re-look mod.

Deleted all the class files and the cod folder from the re-look mod and it works in DBW and 4.12.

Tried all the weapons out and the BAT bomb does not show on the wings on either installation.

In DBW Razons cause a CTD when released, but I've discovered that it's my installation as they do the same on the B-29 etc.

It's a weapon I never use so the Razon has probably never worked on my install.....more problem solving.

This bug is due to some lines missing in hier.ini. But is very easy to fix!

Yes ! This is normal for the Rebels!
I deleted these racks because they are useless in 409!
Although currently it is very easy to add these special weapons for the game 409. The behavior of the aircraft is too shitty! See B-24 behave as a F4U hurts my eyes!

So, I think that if you adjust this little feature this patch will be perfect for 4.09. By the way, right now using the mod + patch is the only way to have all B-24 (stock and modded) working. Yes, 4.12 standard have a different bombsight code. I'm still on 4.10\DBW 1.7.1 and, for now, I don't have necessary skill and knowledge for modify the bombsight\bombardier classfile...

In version 413 all bomb sights were completely changed!
The position of the ventral gunner was also changed!
And unfortunately they are not compatible with older versions of the game (409/410/412).

I've just installed this into my CUP #WAW installation - flys fine - not checked all crew stations but it shows in QMB and the cockpits complete.

Careful there, you will find all your other B-24's, the other D, the J and the Coastal Command one, are now busted!  However, this B-24 will be intgrated into the next CUP update without breaking anything...

Nice work here Epervier, but I have a strange glitch when I install your B-24 in CUP: your plane works normally but other B-24s (B-24D and stock B-24J) has their landing gear locked in up position, even in scramble mission. Here's what the log says:

OK, thanks for your reply, then I guess I'll keep the D and J with a working landing gear  :D. And would it be possible to put the D-140-CO cockpit on the D? It would be more acurate than having the J one.

I picked the oldest version I could find of the D before I started (reasoning that many old models soldiered on, so they can be used for a longer timespan), but some Ds did have the "J" cockpit (maybe not the version with the single boost control knob though).

I'm getting a CDT on loading B-24D-140-CO. Seems to crash when loading the humans at about 98% or so. Checked with my back up copy on an external HD and get the same. She works ok as an AI target, just can't fly it. I'll post my log (which I must admit I don't understand). Could it be the bombardier issue? Thanks if you can help as I really like this plane.

From memory, activating this bird with JSGME in BAT breaks other bombers. I think it has to do with the new 4.13 turret animations. In any case it is good to see improvements! Thanks!

Fix working a treat in BAT! Thanks again Stefan! This bird is now ready for some serious bombing missions!

BAT users,

1) Place Stefan's fixes 6CB335626B1E7D0A and 31E73C8C1CE6FD0C in BATMODS\#WAW_ALT-B-24D-140-CO\#WAW3\!0000_Aircraft_Options
2) Activate #WAW_ALT-B-24D-140-CO with JSGME

Careful though, there apparently are some issues with the other Liberators when this one is activated.

Tested only in HSFX7 but suspect this is the same situation with other 4.12 installation as well.

1)  Took Epervier's flyable version in the first post

2)  Applied 'nose wheels texture fix', also in the first post

3)  These scenarios were observed:

a)  If you apply Stefan's bombsight fix above (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,46782.msg666574.html#msg666574) -

You'd have a flyable B-24D-140-CO with usable bombsight, but this will conflict with other (older) B-24/ Liberator versions - ground start with landing gears up - as pointed out by several in this thread

b)  If you apply Spitwulf's fix here: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,46782.msg520911.html#msg520911

You'd have a B-24D-140-CO flyable, _without_ usable bombsight, but compatible with other B-24 (older) versions

If you apply both fixes the B-24D-140-CO may freeze when trying to access bombsight, and IL-2 crash when exiting mission.  (Noted that Spitwulf's fix was intended for 4.10)

Wonder if others have observed the same.

Yep, all B-24s work great with Stefan SG's fix (all stations, no CTDs) but the older won't deploy the gear on scramble :-X

We are closer though.

I agree that Stefan SG’s Bombsight fix is a step forward, but the fact is a fully functioning B-24D-140-CO is still incompatible with most of the other B-24’s.

The problem hinges on this class file: 2E1ADF6EDF8A6C64, which when used, breaks six of the eight available B-24 Mods.
Unfortunately Stefan SG’s Bombsight fix requires this class to function correctly.
Hopefully some experienced java master will take up the baton and make this Liberator killing class file play nice with the other B-24’s.

Until then, I’ve made a JSGME re-package of Spitwulf’s fix for DBW and 4.12, with additional 3do’s, that fix anomalies in the Forward gun/Bombardier position.
With the patch you can have four(seven via Mods)fully working B-24’s and the B-24D-140-CO without a working bombsight.
Their are three additional B-24 Mods you can add to BAT, The B-24J Liberator, The PB4Y-1 Liberator, and the Liberator GR-MK.I, they all work with this patch.

Un-zip and drop the included folder into your BAT(3.5) MUSKETEER game, and unable via JSGME.

The B-24-140-CO Bombsight Fix by Stefan SG breaks this patch, and causes the belly flop gear problem.
I’ve tested the patch with QMB/FMB missions on heavily Modded and virgin BAT(3.5) versions, with no apparent issues.
Unfortunately the Compatibility patch does not seem to work on earlier versions of BAT.
