Hey all!
After beign absent for a while, I want to go back playing il2 with the CUP. I was at the beginning of CUP and noticed the torrents are down. Are there any new torrents??? the amount of content that is added looks really big so I hope to download it the torrent way.
Also, do any of you have helpfull tips for playing again? I bought a HOTAS so I would like to take advantage of this thing but don't know how... IL-2 wa/ is my first flight sim :P
I already said thanks a couple of times but there can never be too much thanking for this incredible work of you all, so thanks! and also best wishes :)
(Sorry if this belongs to the loung, Didn't know for sure where to put it)

Anybody? The download speed of mediafire here is really slow. I am speaking of 200kbps :(

I´m sorry to say you´ll have to have patience! Seems there are no torrents up. When you talk about HOTAS what stick did you buy? There are many of us using different brands of equipment and they aren´t programmed the same way. Most if not all have their own apps for setting functions up so While you´re DLing the CUP read all the readmes for your stick and start setting it up!

I recommend going into Il-2 "Controls" set-up and setting your button functions to your HOTAS however you like. I found myself setting my buttons then flying a while to see how it feels to manipulate the controls with my thumbs. Do a search for your HOTAS either within this forum or over the broader internet for someone else's set-up for their configuration.
When you say HOTAS, are you speaking strictly about a fighterstick or are you including a throttle? Are you using foot pedals for your rudder / break control?
I'm using CH Fighterstick/Throttle/Foot Pedals so I have a butt load of buttons and switches to work with. Using both hands and your feet to control your aircraft and aircraft functions really improves your gaming experience.
Also, do you have an face tracking / IR head tracking device? When you want to look around from the cockpit, using such a device / software allows you to simply move your head in the direction you want to look and the view on your screen with match your head move. If you do not have this, look for movie clips on YouTube to see how smoothly the views change while the pilot is flying.
