This is Mac1's  He-280 I was working on in the W.I.P. section. All credit for this aircraft goes to Mac1 and to all those involved in it's creation. I simply added and tweaked a few items. No changes were made to the air.ini or skins folder name although previous skins will not work with this version.

Thank You! Thank You! You've done a superb job on putting this ol bird right. I've flown the old version for a good while..always hated to land because the landing gear were rather skimpy. What you have done is just excellent! Thanx again.

When I add the reworked version form this thread I get this, the front wheel is okay but the main whells look to

I have installed in my 412 SAS modact 5,30 after previous versions -neutralized and I don't have this issue. Works very well in 412,530 for me.
Have lot of mods. Not patched. No older file is running. Check your download is complete ( missing files?) + if installed correctly.
Could be a conflict, but I do not have such conflict in spite of having quite a lot of mods... Hope you can solve your problem.. Best regards.  8)

Hello Hubberranz, any previous versions have been removed and a fresh download tried and the mod repositioned up the mod folder but to no avail, I still have the issue I described. :(

Also noticed in the weapon loadout is the 'none' is in the wrong position and some of the bomb options do not appear but I do not think they would effect the undercarriage.

My usual suspects like Jetwar, Common utils etc. are all up to date as far as I am aware so I am at a loss to know just what is wrong.

I guess I will have to delete this version and reinstall the older one, thank you very much for the help all the same, greatly appreciated. ;)

Wonderful news! Thank you very much.

Edit: there seems to be a problem. I'm using DBW and although i can see the plane in the Quick Mission Editor, I get a freeze at 30% when loading the plane. The message is: Il-2 6DOF/TIR Enabled Executive. I've searched for this message at this forum, but still don't know what to do. I haven't played Il-2 for quite a while, so I'm not familiair anymore with all the expressions and explanations. Can someone please tell me what's the problem? Is this plane flyable in DBW? Do I need newer buttons?

The former He 280 mod worked without problems btw.

I have to concur with Pete.........I've  been flying the 280 with no ordinance     ;D     when bombed up on the tarmac only the front wheel is working, the two nose wheel doors are wide of the fuselage and there's no loadout  :(

I'm using 4.12 + 5.30 modact,  old 280 removed..... SAS Common Utils, Jetwar etc.......
I thought perhaps it might have some thing to do with the CTO catapult mod so I removed it ...but no joy  :(

Hello Alfie, I can confer we seem to have the same issues and set up for our game but the strange thing is the log I posted did not mention the bomb hooks but when I tried again today it does. o_O


Normal! There are no hook!

Thank you very much for the info Gabriel, you are as always spot on. ;)

I checked the WingLMid_D0 and WingRMid_D0 from the original and the new version and there are no entries for the wing racks
and bombs in the meshes for the new model. :o

Here I have taken the entries from the old mod and added them to the new ones meshes and it restores the racks and bombs
but they need some adjustment and the retracted wheels are still as before:

With that out of the way I also compared the entries in the gear meshes and they all appeared to be the same for both models, however, the undercarriage is one of the new components of this update so I guess it is possible that the problem with that might be the main wheels need to be orientated correctly so they are opened and not retracted as in my install but here they use the same entries as before.

So the question is why is it only myself and Alfie that have this issue?

Has the link I used in the first post been updated since everyone else took their download or is it that our game is missing something that the mod requires to function correctly?

The only other issue I seem to have is that if I double click 'gearc1_D0' in the new model I get a error message in MeshConverter, but that mesh is the front wheel I think.

Anyway, the mystery persists and it will take further investigation I feel to find a cure.

engine-mod patch western 20151220; ! 00_WeaponsPack_V1.2_20151114 (from F-105 ).

Loadout shows None confirmed is in wrong place; pic was with with 2xSD500 selected, no show for all bombs below None. DropTank is OK.

OK I have updated to !!SAS_Engine_2.7_patch_western_20160504alpha and have the same results as above, no change.
Note I keep the patch separate and  before  !!SAS_Engine_Mod. ( So I do not actually patch and thereby accumulate the patches on top of one another. )
Also I use !! stead of ! in my order of things . The provided patch "!SAS_Engine_Mod" is renamed. ( before was:  -!!SAS_Engine_2.7_patch_western_20151220 ).

Hello Hubberanz, as Gabriel pointed out your issue is missing pylons and bomb hooks. ;)

EDIT:
There is a fix for the pylon issue now available in the first post kindly provided by Ont_R so I have removed the entries I posted.


As the image in my previous post shows they will need further adjustment to move pylon and bomb to the correct place on the wing.


I have been playing with all the gear hooks to try and get my main undercarriage to sit as it should but to no avail. ::(


At least the above fix should now give you the full armament. 8)

I made a start on the adjustments last night but had to go out so you have saved me further work. ;)


Unsure of what the gear issue is I decided to try the mod in my spare Modact set up that has very few additions and is used
primarily for testing the WWI stuff I put together and in that the gear works correctly:

Looks like there is something in my main game that is conflicting with the He280 so I will now try adding the usual suspects
 into that and see if I can find just what is the problem, if I manage to find it I will post again so others will know. ;)


While testing I noticed that the port undercarriage door is set too far forward and is not covering the bay when closed.

Hello again guys, thankfully I have now found the conflicting mod that was causing the undercarriage issue. 8)


Here she is now fully functioning in my main Modact 5.30 game:

The usual stuff such as jet war, utilities etc. were added into my spare game and the only issue was a lack of
certain weapons options that was cured by adding '01__Weapons_Me-410_v3b' to give me all the load outs.

From there it was a case of pick a mod and see what happens, in this instance I tried a Me 262 mod named
 ' _00000_Me-262' and the issue with my undercarriage appeared in my test game. o_O

EDIT:  This is actually the 'Messerscmitt Me-262A Ultimate Pack' with what appears to be another addition. :o

These are the types in there:

Me-262A        air.ME_262A 2                               g01   SUMMER
Me-262V-3         air.ME_262V3 2                                g01   SUMMER

Besides those there are folders for other types, possibly fixes for other aircraft in the game.

Once that mod was deactivated in my main install there were no more issues. ;)

I do not know yet what item it is in the pack that causes the issue but at least I found it fairly quickly.

Hope this helps anyone else who is or has experienced the issue.

Hello,
I wanted to try the new plane He-280 on my game (Version 1.71 DBW 4101 with its mod Tiger).
If the game is loading normally and the aircraft appears well in the selection table when
I run the "flight", the game stops working at 30%.
In log.lst, it does not find the following files:
-GearC21_Do
-GearL6_Do
-GearR6_Do

Can anyone give me help?

Blue line: my view alignment.
White: an ideal alignment to view.
Yellow: gear to fuselage.
Green: engines to Fuselage.
Note:
The wheels retract into the fuselage; so the gear covers are part of the fuselage, but the fuselage seems a bit offset to the right side. ( Left on pic. )
That may be part of the problem with the port gear cover...
Red: on opposite side of this coin, are the gear to engine placement differences... ( so the port gear looks 'more away' from the fuselage ).

... that's because you're flying way too fast, with the canopy open ...!  o_O

Easy fix:

Slow down a bit and close the bloody canopy ...!  :D

No, it did have 20mm cannons, but 30mm cannons were considered.

DBW possible fix: Download both this version and a 4.10 compatible version (available here: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,28701.0.html )

Copy the 3do folder from this version into the mod folder of the 4.10 version, and overwrite everything. It should work.

I did put the plane in HSFX 7.03 , but the default skin does not fit.
And the engines overheat very fast , when the plane is still on the runway during take-off .

This is what you get when you load an old skin to the new 3D. obviosuly - if this really is your "default" skin - you did not install the new mod properly as it brings a new "default" skin

you can delete all the skins for the old 3D, the mapping is different.

As for the engines: set overheating to "off". A sound advise for all the jets in the game IMO.

So when i spawn mine in, it spawns on the ground (regardless if i said air spawn) and it has a pink (missing texture) skin, i think i did something wrong but i dont know what...help

I just installed this mod fresh today, and that same texture issue is still present.
