Yesterday, a F-5E has been lost in Switzerland, during an exercise flight with a F-18. Pilot ejected safely. Photos are interesting :

These planes are considerate obsolete, and fly only by day for training flighhts, and for the display team (Patrouille Suisse).

The F-5? Those ladies are ancient, still saying that we still use the Hawk here but that's a real trainer... sadly she's going to be retired soon and replaced with the Hawk T.2.
Glad the pilot got out alright... 8)

Aww don't call them obsolete - they're one of my favorite aircraft... Old perhaps, but as was the F-14 and MiG-21s... Surprised that F-5 didn't blow up into a fireball, still looks like it can be put together for a display piece, or even for parts, I'd like the whole cockpit. 8)
