Title: Desert pilots [4.12]
Post by: Ranwers on August 06, 2022, 12:29:47 PM
DESERT pilots for few planes.

You must have mod for big files - download =>https://www.mediafire.com/file/4hebawep70kkdxb/DLL-4096-2017.rar/file
Add in IL2 main folder. Make first copy the files

I recommend to add "head movement" class too (made by Barnesy) - download => https://www.mediafire.com/file/wy1y1r6sdof6oa5/%2521_Head_movement_4.12.rar/file (only for 4.12)

DOWNLOAD DESERT pilots => https://www.mediafire.com/file/law3ihiue3yjrjk/#+PILOTS+desert+pack.rar/file

The mod affects default aircraft as well as those modified by Barnesy (Bf-109) Jerro and Dimon or 101tfs. If a plane does not work, remove the directory from the planes folder. I recommend using this mod with the previous pilots packs. Some meshes (belts, mask) is made by Barnesy
Enjoy

Thanks so much for these, Ranwers!!!

One question : How do we ensure the Tropical versions are loaded?  I don't have a BF-109F4Trop in my air.ini file, nor are there any Tropical options in the drop-down list of weapons loadouts.
Should we select a particular Pilot?

I asked for these, well the allied pilots to occupy my Pacific RAAF aircraft.
So a big thankyou Ranwers for making them available.

This is hilarious, the famous Filter Map restrictions bite it's a.. now. Haha.

Tropical Filters are called by Java ontop of the untropicalised.
This false tropicalisation implements 1 global Hier.him, sth. you can't
change in these ModPacks using this feature.

Bf109F-4 (BAT) Hier.him give it Tropical Pilot,
you'll end up having him in Petsamo or Narvik as well.

Modpacks affected:
Bf109 Pack SAS, Hurricanes SAS pack, Fw190 Claymore Pack

Every Tropical Slot using such Filter Java, you can put in the bin literally.

Inside the RAF Files I shipped to you, you'll find the Tropical Hurries already done, they just need
tinkering at these Tropicals

Only for BAT Users:

Hurricanes Tropicals (based on stock, not entirely)
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,58546.0.html (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,58546.0.html)

Fw190s + Tropicals (based on Barnesey Models)
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,68322.0.html (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,68322.0.html)

Bf109s, stage is early Beta still, F4/B is ready, the rest still unaproved as I remember
Barneseys unedited 109ers are not safe for BAT use, Point.
You need to edit Java and know how to implement.
This is inside my SFS Files, and atm. I can't afford tinkering atm.

Pulling out pure stock Fw190s and Bf109s shouldn't be hard,
you just have to ommitt old AAA UI Tropical Slot Javas, as they are
still residing in BAT to some extent. As this was the case in DBW too,
just read the Read Me about the implementation of 109 and Hurricane Packs.
I found that out during tinkering up on old Slots.

As I still have Covid and Modding lies at moment. The sideeffects of
the infection are nausea, fatigue and loss of concentration.
The last being the most severe in my eyes. I can barely read a book or concentrate on silly tasks.
I might like to wait a bit before pulling out a 109 Tropical Mod for you.

Thank you Ranwers.
An other great improvement.
For CAC Boomerangs, in my install , your mod works if folder renamed in "CAC-Boomerang13(Multi1)"
Then copied and renamed in CAC-Boomerang12(Multi1), for the two models.
Hope for Russian pilots... :)

My BF109F-4(BAT4.0)...not Trop, only tropical skin.
Since there is no aircraft, only the pilot has been replaced to 'Pilots Desert'... ;)
In my case, only this aircraft is enough in the MTO mission.
The sticks are overlapping(the original one is too short)... ::(
So I've tried to make up for it, but it doesn't look good.
But You won't notice it unless you look closely.

... if you want to get the G2 -Trop pilot fastened to his seat with the straps, on the F4 and G6 Trop models (by Barnesy), simply borrow the 3 files named "straps" from the "plane" G2 Trop folder, and also edit their hier.him by adding the "straps" lines from the end of the G2 hier.him ...  8)

Could I ask people ..how have you placed these pilot folders IE. Desert pilots, Luftwaffe etc in your #WAW in order of priority? Regarding the Stukas they seem to be in some of the cockpits regardless of the season/ theatre of war. Along with the head issues..even selecting different maps to see if the desert pilots show up only in desert maps and ETO.

... no, if you put a desert pilot in a plane, even over a winter map the pilot will still be "desert" ...  ;)

My Gladiators for desert front.

Put(overwrite) them all in the 'Pilots Desert Pack' folder of Ranwers.

It was tested only on 4.12.2m, BAT 4.0

I won't take questions about it even if it doesn't work in any other mod (request to use shift+tab key to solve problems on one's own).

The pilot is a little small.
If you tell me what parameter to alter I'll give it a go.
Title: Re: Desert pilots [4.12]
Post by: gunny0134 on October 14, 2023, 11:22:39 AM
Strange. Your pilot's position looks lower than mine. I make the pilot's height match the pilot's gaze to gunsite, that's my pilot's height.

Anyway, I'm glad it seems to be working well. But I don't think it's in perfect condition because you did -hier.him.

This is my pilot's position value :

[Pilot1_D0]
Mesh Pilot1_D0
Parent CF_D0
Attaching 0 1 0 -0.984808 0 -0.17365 -0.17365 0 0.984808 -1.17823 -0.00842 0.08658

Now, the size of the pilot is maximum. Just adjust the height of the pilot. Among the position values listed above, the last 0.08658 is the height value for the pilot.
Let's raise this vlaue to 0.09658, 0.10658, 0.11658, then, the pilot will be slightly taller (0.01 = around 1mm)
While doing so, find your preferred the pilot's height value.
Equipment and Stick move with a pilot, so don't worry.

And if you want to increase the size of the pilot, add the 9 position value of 0 1 0 -0.9848080 -0.17365 -0.17365 00.984808 by 0.01 (- sign is unrelated).
ex) 0 1.01 0 -0.994808 0 -0.18365 -0.18365 0 0.994808
In this way, you can find the size of the pilot you want by adding 0.01 more. However, if the size of the pilot changes, the height of the pilot also changes, so it must be adjusted again.

But the problem is how do you get to adjust the position of the pilot with my position value even though you don't have your hier.him.

Are you using another Modder's plane ?? or dump mode ?? Then I'm not worried.

Thank you.

Now you need a dump mod.
Search for dump mode in this forum and you'll see how to use it.
Then you can have a hier.him of all planes !!

Title: Re: Desert pilots [4.12]
Post by: gunny0134 on October 14, 2023, 06:30:56 PM
The method of adjusting the size of the pilot I mentioned above is just an expedient according to my experience.

To be more accurate, you should use the Kumpels_MatrixParams_v2.0 utility.

And finally, you can't go into 1946 every time to see how the position values you changed actually applied, so you also have to be proficient in the Mesh_Viewer_IL2 utility for the preview.

Thank you.

Now you need a dump mod.
Search for dump mode in this forum and you'll see how to use it.

I was browsing the forum and randomly saw this post, but I wonder is there a specific mod for the dump ? And where would it be?  I've been using the dump mode of the IL2 selector so far.......

Ciao ;)

Title: Re: Desert pilots [4.12]
Post by: gunny0134 on October 30, 2023, 04:27:28 AM
There is no separate program.

Check dump mode in the box of the IL-2 selector, save and play the plane you want to dump in QMB of 1946 for a while.

when the dump is over, turn off the mode check.

That's all.

If you don't use another plane mod, you can get a pure plane model with no problems as the dump mode.

My intention is to put Ranwers' pilot in the plane of BAT stock version that has already been verified as having no problems.

That way there will never be any room for CTD or any strange symptoms on the plane.

Title: Re: Desert pilots [4.12]
Post by: gunny0134 on October 30, 2023, 05:50:51 AM
In addition, the reason why dump mode is necessary is that the Ranwers' files often does not work depending on the mod or version used by the users.

The solution is to extract the plane file from the mod used by the users with the dump mode, and then apply the Ranwers' files to it, which can be easily resolved.

Thank you.

Hello everyone
I think I need to explain a couple of things
I have uploaded the # PILOTS xx files as they appear in my #WAW3
They contain the aircraft files that were made, before my uploading  by all the excellent moders
Those files don't need to be changed DO NOT DELETE OR ERASE THESE FILES
the other aircraft files are the ones I wanted to modify to get better-looking pilots
to build them, I isolated these planes, using DUMP, I kept and modified the hier.him files, and apply only the elements concerning the appearance of the pilots
I have to admit that my method is more street cooking than great cooking! Even if I am french...
but I could see that it matched rather well and that's why I invite you to improve my results, as Gunny did with the P-38s.
I hope you'll understand my approach better and that my work will be of some use.
Thank you

Hi guys

I was planning on doing the Brewster Buffalo for you today, but noticed that in loulou's Desert Pilots folder that I have one already exists.
So great! I don't have to do one I thought, however it doesn't load in my B.A.T. 4.2.1.

I would like to know if anyone else is having a similar problem, and if so would you like the Buffalo I've just made instead?

Yes, I need your desert Buffalo because Buffalo of BAT 4.0-4.1 doesn't have 'Cillinders1_D0.msh', so loulou's Buffalo doesn't work.

I want to supplement it from your desert Buffalo.

Thank you.

Mainly for the TGA gang I suppose..
Using Ranwars excellent static pilots- RAF TROPICAL, I  made some more crew for the Hart, Audax and Hind lovers.
Boring probably, but if two people like them, that's nice.
