Hallo Gents,
here it is the SM 84.
All my thanks to CWatson for classes, FM and an huge number of suggestions.
To Stanislao, the promoter and first supporter for this plane, many thanks for the skins.
The plane has a loadout the should be very near to what it has been.
With Stanislao we have introduced two skins:
nr 1 a summer skin belonged to 256th Squadriglia-Aerosiluranti;

Thank you. Nice aircraft. Just to confirm - no bomb aimer's station or bombsight? Pretty much limits it to torpedo attacks. Still a nice plane, though.

Note: I restored an alpha channel to the winter default. Warning: ..just looking at 'winter' with irfanview will change .tgb extention to .tga. ..must be installed first.

Thanks for this very nice bird. However with the last version, my game freezes now... that was not the case with the first one.. Could you check the issue? maybe too many polys on the model ?.

By switching to Autopilot to ON/OFF several times I could fly the plane but sometimes it continues to freeze as soon as they are ground objects visible...

Then i can see some issue with skins

Yes I removed the first mod... I cannot restore it...
It seems that several hooks are missng. The log.txt contains the following lines
Hook '_12,7_03' NOT found in mesh of class com.maddox.il2.objects.air.SM84
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMesh: Wrong chunk idx (-1, N:223)
and several times this one
om.maddox.il2.engine.ActorException: Hook: _Engine2ES_01 not found

For you information, each time the game freezes, I can get the control again by switching to autopilot ON and OFF, sometimes I had to set the Automatic Level switch to ON to avoid the loss of control... Otherwise a great airplane...

Thanks Dandolo513, I put this .msh file, the error line has disappeared from the log.txt but there is still this one:
com.maddox.il2.engine.ActorException: Hook: _Engine1ES_02 not found
The last remaining missing hook... if you can PM it to me, it will be fine

Hallo flyers,
after a "tuning" i post the update to SM 84.
Credits to :
Epervier , He have done the fixes and improvements, new rounded wheels, Engines Hooks have been fixed 'smoke, oil, burn, for Engines 1, 2, 3, and EF and ES for Engines 2 and 3, and the "plane" folder has been cleaned too .
Mick have installed Ranwers pilots/gunners instead of stock ones and helped me on finding ugly views and various issues.
Obviously a mention to Ranwers and his stupendous pilots.
Stanislao , the mentor of this plane, for his skins and suggestions.
Hubberranz for his 1024 skins.

I have installed the new version after removing the old one, but I still get the same issue: the game freezes except when I activate Autopilot .
Here below the log. txt file. 2 hooks are still missing _Engine2ES_01 and _Engine1ES_02
Having taken a look at the SM84(Multi) I could not find the corresponding .msh files. Can you provide them ? Thanks in advance

Hi Dandolo,
I am playing BAT 4.2.2 Hotfix 4 .
I renamed the plane folder as "! Savoia Marchetti SM 84 bis" to put the it at the top of the mod list , that way IL2 will read it first. I still get the game freezing with the log.txt file growing due to the same error message regarding missing hooks....
Maybe the freeze is due to the writing of the log.txt with all these error messages...
By setting autopilot ON and OFF I get the control of the plane back till next freeze...
Maybe an IL2 guru can investigate what happens...
I created the mission in FMB with a single SM-84 plane...

Hi Dandolo, Yes. They do show up in game.
I checked if it could be a conflict with other mods but by putting the SM84 on the top of the mod list, I believe there is nothing which could create the issue..
I still get the missing hooks error messages. When playing with Autopilot ON/OFF I can manage to fly the plane...
Maybe the plane model has too many polys and my computer cannot manage it ?

I tried with my IL-2 1946 v5.00m BAT v4.2.2 flashpoint. and everything goes very well in FMB, and in Quik mission. a splendid torpedo bomber for the Regia Aeronautica.

Just to inform you, I found the causes of the game freezing and missing hooks error messages in my log.txt.
After screening my mods, I found two mods by WxTech which created the issue:
!0_Wx_Tech_Aircraftstate_classes_BAT
!0_Wx_Tech_full_throttle_smoke_mod_BAT_412+
Once theses mods removed from the WAW#3 folder, no more freeze nor error messages in the log.txt. I can now fly the aircraft normally.

Yes, there are really only two Italian bombers missing from IL2 now: The Caproni Ca 135, which became Hungary's most important bomber on the eastern front, and the SM 79 JR - the jumo-powered version of the Sparviero widely used by Romania against the Soviet Union.
A few other missing aircraft come to mind all of which have some use in campaigns:
The Amiot 351/354 a French fast recon bomber, used by two 2 groups of the French airforce in 1940.
The Blenheim V used in the North Africa and Burma
The Kawasaki Ki-56 - used to drop paratroopers over Sumatra in 1941 (resembles the Lockheed Hudson with a fatter fuselage)
The Ju-88S and T used as high-speed 'pfadfinder' aircraft from 1943

Speaking about the Ju 88 family… Ju 88H? I know we’re speaking about some twenty planes, but there is a chance for long reconnaissance missions and sometimes we have planes which actually weren’t built.
The same goes for Ju 290…
