Title: It's been a minute
Post by: KevinHoggard on January 16, 2024, 10:13:58 PM
Been a bit since I have been on here.  Got the bug again, and currently working on a Richthofen Campaign.  Start in Jasta 2 with Boelcke, gain Command of Jasta 11, Then Command JG-1.

A New York minute, or an Il-2 minute?  ;->

Ok all… I’m currently working on mission 21, using the dates and aircraft shot down by Richthofen. As I sit here to be honest it seems a tad boring and monotonous doing this. Before I continue, would you all rather be somewhat historical or historical/fun for the player? Meaning instead of downing 1 plane, have some massive dogfights.

There must have been some big dogfights later on.

I was going by which type of aircraft he shot down and where… there were only a couple of times when he shot down 2 in a day, and those were separate sorties

There is, or was a very good book in  the University of Canterbury Library. It listed the day to day contacts of the RFC/RAF. I go there every day to use it as my 'office'. I can check stuff out if you want.

cheers

Thanks, I have been using The Aerodrome for the information. I decided to go the route of Historical/Fun route. Shooting down single BE.2’s over and over again just wasn’t that fun.

I remember doing something similar for the early kills of Albert Ball. I used The Aerodrome as my source too. Worked out a bit clunky as a campaign because I had trouble keeping some of the early aircraft in the air long enough to be attacked. The Roland had a particular problem with that. Looking forward to your campaign though big battles or not.
