The 8th Bomber Command (8th Army Air Force), stationed in England, prepares for and executes a daylight
precision bombing mission on several German cities, including Brandenburg, Danzig, Goynia, and Marienburg.
This docu-drama was filmed on location with the men of the 8th Air Force acting out their real life roles
in the war. Some of the scenes shown are:
Animated maps locate bombing targets.
Technicians, particularly of Operational Research, study and outline the bombing mission.
Oral and written orders follow high-level consultations on intelligence, operations, navigation, and bombing;
bombs are loaded on airplanes.
Crews of planes are awakened, eat breakfast, and begin extensive briefing on their missions.
Crews arrive at air fields, receive final briefings, board planes, check equipment, and take off.
The composition of a fighting "group" is described in detail.
After being intercepted by German fighter planes, the bombers reach their targets and disburse for
bombing runs.
Targets are bombed and groups reassemble for the return to England.
Planes land and crews are interrogated.
Interrogation continues and information and combat photographs are utilized in upper-echelon critiques.
Miscellaneous combat shots, as the narrator pays tribute to the Air Force.

The invaluable and often overlooked work done by the P.R.U (photo reconnaissance units) during World War Two,
included the discovery and pinpointing of Hitler's V-Weapons. Many of these rockets and their launch sites
were then destroyed by R.A.F. and U.S.A.A.F. bombing before they could be launched against Allied targets.
