I have just been using this aircraft testing CY6's C&C 3.01.

I seem to remember before that the AI controlled BF-110-G4 used the Schrage Musik in attacks on enemy bombers, am i correct?

Trying it today i could not for the love of me get the BF-110-G4 to use the Schrage Musik at all, any attack was made using the conventional forward armament.

I am running DBW 1.71, could someone please confirm if they get the same results or if they know of a fix for this issue please.

Did you try "C"?
Yes, it switched between Cockpit and T-Gunner position

i run DBW 1.71 using Benito's totalMODder, so i have a few profiles with different theatres, ETO,PTO,Nachtjagd etc. I also have just a base profile i use for testing, i've tested the schrage musik armed planes on all of my profiles with no luck.

So for me at least it would appear to be a vanilla DBW 1.71 property, but interested to hear anyone elses conclusions.

has the same problem with its upward firing guns, i suppose (in my very limited knowledge!) they would share the same AI code for this maneuver wouldn't they?

I am not sure how Anto implemented this. It might be that a special code was added for Bf110G4 specifically, so any other "SMuzik" plane would need to be individually added to this feature.

We have to ask him how it was, but I even doubt he remebers what he did.

The version 4 works fine in DBW 1.71 ... just tested it. However I don't know how to use the radar ... but the forward and up facing guns sure do pack a punch.

i believe the quote you referenced was refering to the fact that the AI is unable to use the schrage musik installation, rather than the fact it does not work in DBW 1.71 mate.

A time ago, Anto i believe, adjusted the AI behaviour so that the AI could use the upward firing guns on the Me-110 G4, unfortunately this has become 'broken' somewhere along the way and no longer works. The AI only use forward firing armament.

Hope that clears it up for you mate, i personally would love to see it working properley, maybe, hopefully it will in the 4.11 update to DBW one day.

It wasn't perfect because of my overall lack of skill but you'll find it fun. Just a word of note though, the radar is only effective above 5,000 metres due to ground interference. I wish someone could help me sort that.

Yes:

1) go to TD forum and ask them what is up with it.

or

2) Ask kindly to TD if they would allow us to use their leaked Bf110 radar operator cockpit in the mod (or in HSFX6 pack) while waiting their final version on official patch

EDIT: got beaten in posting first, lol... well yeah, I see some are not so ethically worried about using leaked material.
